Wissahickon Environmental Education Center

We parked our vehicle here to enter the Wissahickon Valley Trail. The parking is safe.
Today, we did a simple 3 mile hike. We encountered quite a few joggers, a few trail runners, and a horsebacker. We walked down the Forbidden Drive, crossed over W Bell’s Mill Rd and passed the Covered Bridge on our left. We then found a reader-​board indicating that on the left side across the creek about 100 ft up the hill stands a 15 foot marble Indian Statute. We could see the statue up in the distance. So, we continued on Forbidden and then hiked up a switchback/​path on Rex Avenue up to the statute. Very cool! We then continued on the trail back to our base.
We now have found another trail head/​parking area for the fantastic Wissahickon Valley Trail. Can’t wait to explore more.
