When I was in Chinatown last weekend, I walked into Wayne Kee on a whim, and I am so glad that I did. You can think of Wayne Kee as the place you go to for affordable kitchen ware and supplies you didn’t even know you needed. After spending only $ 35, I left with 4 tea infuser balls, 3 plastic squeeze bottles, 2 cooking thermometers, 1 sauce dispenser, and…*drumroll please* a new key. Yes, they make keys here, and for only $ 1 a piece. Highly recommend checking Wayne Kee out if you’re in Chinatown!

They carry such a wonderful collection of kitchen items both domestic and commercial and the prices are stellar. When ever I am in need of of ¼ and ½ size sheet pans, various sizes of roasting pans or insert racks for roasting pans this is my go to place. Naturally, you will find additional Asian cooking and serving items for the kitchen as well. I truly look forward to stopping and shopping here when I am in Philly as this is a little culinary cooking store gem.

I’ve only shopped here for restaurant supplies and all in all its a great place to go. They have anything you might need for great prices. Metal wire whisks are $ 4.99. Metal bowls, a couple of bucks. Sugar shakers, $ 1.75. Sheet pans, $ 5.00. Granted the quality is not 5 star restaurant quality but I use this stuff at home and its perfect. If you need anything for your home this is the place to go. If you’re looking for the Home Depot experience go to Home Depot, this place is for the more adventurous…

What doesn’t this place have? Kitchen supplies? Check. Hardware? Check. Oh right, that’s the name of the place. Came here and got a huge stainless steel mixing bowl, a box of standard nails, and a thicker set of nails with a ½ inch head. All for around ~ $ 12 — not bad!

$ 1 for a key copy. Allowed me to exchange items when I wanted to return something. Prices are ok, depending on what you’re buying.

I’ve been to Wayne Key twice — first, to get keys copied and next, to buy dishes and kitchen supplies. I was expecting rock bottom hrift store prices so I had a bit of a shock with prices, but overall it was affordable. However, some of the craftmanship and design was absent. The items screamed mass produced, which of course, they are. The eating utensils seems like they were punched out of a metal sheet and lacked shape and polish. They looked cheap, but I get what I pay for. 12 forks for $ 3 sounded good to me. I got distracted by the Chinese cooking implements in the shop. There are so many interesting and attractive items, especially the ceramic soup spoons. I’m going to get those on a future trip. They register staff wrapped my dishes in newspaper, Chinese language, natch and packed the stuff up nicely. Overall, I like this place a lot and will be returning.

This place is great. You need a key copied — $ 1 per key. You need dishes — no problem. You need to replace your kitchen sink apparatus — $ 25 for a kit. You need restaurant supplies and cooking utensils — look here. I got two forks, two knives, and two spoons all matching for $ 4.50. Toilet bowl plunger? Yep, multiple kinds. There is a lot to choose from… so walk around until you see it. You can ask for help, but the owners are native Chinese speakers. So there may be some language barrier. All in all though, this is a very handy store to have nearby. Stop in here the next time you need something. It’s often cheaper than K-Mart or other nearby big box options.

This place is about 50% kitchen supplies and 50% hardware. The prices are really low on many items! Their selection of hardware is decent, albeit a bit smaller than that of a dedicated hardware store. The employees are friendly but are not native English speakers, so it may be helpful to try to visually describe what you need. The kitchen supplies seem to be a bit on the industrial side — i.e. for restaurant kitchens.

This place is like the TARDIS for urban home supplies.(Little geek reference there). Seriously, you wouldn’t think they could cram an entire Home Depot plus a restaurant supply store into such a tiny shop, but there it is. I’ve gone in there looking for the most random stuff — a humidifier, a kitchen scale, a giant plastic tupperware tub, specialized hardware odds n’ ends — and found several options to choose from. Prices range from average to holy-crap-that’s-cheap. As a bonus you can check out the world’s largest woks and rice cookers.

This place is ok. It’s open later than the hardware store closer to my place and they’ve got a lot of random stuff. Today I went in though asking for 2 copies of all 3 of my house keys. Because I have two silver keys they insisted that I didn’t need both of them copied. It was ridic. I convinced them that they were different and then they only made on copy of my set. Then I asked for another copy, and again the issue with only copying 2 out of 3 of my keys. Jesus christ. Then one of them gave me attitude like it was my fault. I still give it 2 stars because I’ve been there 3 or 4 times and this is the only bad experience I had. It lost them 3 stars though.
