Had a facial with Elena a few days before my wedding and as I expected she did not disappoint. After the facial, I felt rejuvenated, like I had a youthful & refreshed face. Clogged pores were excreted and dead skin cells whisked away. Followed by facial massage with a tingly, minty moisturizer on my face… Ahhh‼

On my wedding day, Ursula served as my makeup artist. And her artistic talent was greatly appreciated and shined through. And the proof was in my beautiful wedding photographs as well as the compliments & gazing eyes of my husband. An airbrushed, natural look with soft, light color bursts for my eyelids, cheeks & lips. I am a supporter of airbrush make-​up. And the makeup was long lasting.
I have been very pleased with Ursula’s each time I go there for services and can’t imagine my brows or my facial being matched. So, I guess one can say that I’m a loyal repeat customer…

I had a great experience! It was the first time I had a facial where I actually learned about my skin and the best ways to take care of it. Elina was very honest about the fact that you don’t need expensive products. In fact, she recommended things that were mostly under $ 10. I can’t wait to go back again. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because it would have been helpful to have a written summary. I once went to a place where they wrote down all the products they used and recommendations for me. Elina explained so much during the consultation that I spent a lot of time thinking «Ooh, that’s good, try to remember that!» Then I’d miss the next thing she said while trying to internalize the previous thing. It was hard to remember everything by the time I left. I had to write everything down right away but I might have missed a step or two.

Save your face and don’t go here. Despite all the positive reviews, Ursula’s did not deliver. She has a heavy and uneven hand. My brows came out crooked and she told me that this was because my face is asymmetrical. I’m now using daily makeup to try and hide her mistakes.
Her salon is cluttered and does not seem like a professional spa. Additionally, I hope you like Motown tunes because you will get sick of hearing the same four songs on literal loop. I honestly can not listen to some of the songs I used to love.
For the tremendous prices and shoddy work, please go elsewhere. I’m baffled by all these great reviews and am sorry that I let them fool me the first time.

I can’t say enough AMAZING things about Ursula and her ability to do eyebrows. (She’s been taking care of mine for the past 3 years).
Lets start here: I moved to Atlanta, GA, and flew up every few months so she could do them. (Yes, I tried places there, of course — I’m not crazy. But no one could make my face look like she did). Eventually, I relocated back to NY, and now I take a day trip every few weeks to go back to Ursula.
WHY — She is a great person (and the people that work with her too). They give you some tea when you sit waiting, its nice. However, the number 1 reason I go: is her ability to somehow give me cheekbones and lift my face — by doing my eyebrows! I used to pluck, and wax, and let the 5 $ eyebrow places touch my brows (b/​c it’s «the same» right?). NOPE. Going here is an investment in your face. Seriously. She doesn’t try to give you whatever eyebrow is hot/​in fashion, she tries to work with your face and the brow that God/​nature gave you. Ursula is seriously the best.

Ladies (and gents), believe all the rave reviews you’ve read about Ursula and Elina… because all of it is true! First off, only Ursula can make your eyebrows look amazing with just a simple pair of tweezers-​it truly is shocking to see what your eyebrows look like after Ursula’s worked her magic. I used to have to have my eyebrows waxed in order to get an eyebrow arch and was skeptical that tweezing could do the same; I have been a believer. I bought Ursula’s eyebrow liquid pen a year ago and I still use it every day because there is nothing else out there that goes on like liquid and looks so natural. Her optimistic and always smiling self makes you feel like you are catching up with a girlfriend everytime you see her. One year for my birthday, she gave me a complimentary makeup session-​who else would do that?!
Elina is truly and simply superb and what she does. She is a woman with a vast knowledge of all things skin-​and it is evident when you have your consultation with her that she is so very passionate about what she does. You truly have never had a facial until you’ve met Elina. My sister has been going to her for almost 4 years and what Elina did for my sister’s acne is nothing short of a miracle. My sister swears by her and will not allow any facial products to touch her face unless it is «Elina approved». This doesnt mean expensive high-​end products, it simply means what Elina would approve for her face. Prior to meeting Elina a couple of years ago, I thought I had dry skin and would lather everything under the sun on my face in attempt to hydrate it-​lotions, moisturing creams, argan oil, you name it, I used it. After my first skin consultation with Elina, she told me that I in fact had normal skin and that I needed to stop using so many products on my face and to let my skin naturally produce oils. She told me to simply use an Olay face wash and to use a Cetaphil SPF 50 sunscreen daily-​and lo and behold– I’ve never gotten dry patches on my skin since. Since my first visit with Elina, I have used the same face wash and moisturizer and my skin has never looked better. Like many reviews state, Elina never ever pressures you into buying anything and always suggests using products that are afforadable and attainable such as yogurt and honey masks or buying over-​the-​counter facial products. Extractions are actually painless too-​again, amazing. Everytime I see Elina I take notes on the advice she gives me (SPF50 is your best friend, never leave home without it) and leave with a newfound knowledge on how to better care for my skin. Ursula and Elina are indeed a godsend… but don’t just take my word for it, experience it for yourself and you will be glad you did.

*HIGHLY recommend reading Leigh’s review* Ursula and Elina are the best in the city! Elina gave me tips for dealing with my acne, and though she never touched my face, her tips worked wonders. Can’t imagine how good my face would have looked if I’d had time to get a facial!
Ursula is the brow queen and her makeup line is incredible. She’s so warm and inviting and makes everyone feel right at home in her chair. Unfortunately getting your brows done here isn’t cheap and I have college bills to pay, but I’ll definitely come back when I run out of her foundation and for special occasions!

My eyebrows are light and take forever to grow. I waited a year to have them groomed. Well, last month my fiancé and I decided to have a last minute wedding. Like in 3 weeks last minute. I found Ursula online, took a chance and I am so glad I did! The price worried me a bit, but every review was positive. I needed them done right the first time. Well, I will never go anywhere else. I won’t dare try to pluck or clean them myself. Ursula transformed my eyebrows. Trust me! Make an appointment and go! My eyebrows look the way they should for the first time in 28 years.
I also want to mention that Ursula’s salon is clean. The atmosphere is relaxing. I felt very welcomed. And Ursula is so sweet! She’s honest. Very honest. And I appreciated that.

Wow. Just Wow! I must preach the good graces of this establishment and the staff! I am a believer just like the many people before me. I will DEFINITELY be coming back! I’m bummed that it has taken me this long to find this place! Everyone, please book an appointment if you want your life changed! Just amazing!
I had my first consultation with Ursula for my eyebrows and then afterwards with Elina for my facial. I knew this was going to take a few hours of my day and boy, am I so thrilled that I had a day of pampering! :)
Upon entering, I was greeted by Ursula herself and the front office assistant. She was sweet!
The office assistant and Ursula were so kind and pleasant as soon as I walked in. They offered to take my coat and get me water. Service as soon as I walked in and absolutely no waiting around! They were right on time and had a professional flow and mindset about them. I seemed like they had a full day but it never was packed or having people wait around on the couches/​chairs. There was a positive and constant buzz in the room. A good thing! Imagine a whole bunch of your best girlfriends getting together, that’s what it reminds me of!
The décor is fun as well! I can tell she likes Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, The Royals-​William and Kate, etc. The classic and iconic beauties! Lots of fun little items throughout the room. Entertaining to look at!
First off, Ursula has this aura about her and she definitely knows her stuff. She is just lovely and knows how to make you feel beautiful. She is a great motivator and instructor as well!
Ursula was so particular with my eyebrows and schooled me on the do’s and dont’s of what eyebrows are suppose to be! She is a true artist and sculptor! She had a great chair side manor and fun to chat with while she shaped and manages your eyebrows.
I’m so glad I made this appointment! She showed me the differences and the progress that took place on my face in a matter of minutes. No lie, I looked younger and more awake after the miracle she did.
I’m in love with my eyebrows now and feel bad that I had been threading, waxing, and plucking prior to. She is at true gem and trust her with all that she does and suggests! Highly recommend!
As for my facial, love love love Elina! She is also the epitome of professionalism! She is a woman who knows her stuff and will help you achieve the skin you dream about! I have worked with many estheticians in my life and I’m pretty particular about my face and the products I use. I will spend a pretty penny and do a great deal of research to get my skin to near perfect as possible.
Since this was my first time with her, she and I had a lengthy but informative consultation. She and I had dialogue for about 30 minutes or so about the differences, comparisons, procedures, and types of products one uses on the skin. Some of what she was talking about I was aware of but some things not as much. It is always great to learn and to hear from someone who has a passion for what they do.
I have had many facials to microdermabrasions to peels to you name it. So I knew what to expect overall. I have searched high and low across Philadelphia and have never been happy with the end product. So I had high standards after reading the reviews about Elina and she lived up to every one. I am certain I have found my forever home when it comes to my facial and skincare needs.
Elina starts off by giving you a amazing head/​scalp massage, if you decide to do that. Great way to get relaxed for the work and pampering to follow. I typically ask for extractions in my facials and have had the full spectrum of estheticians who don’t do it properly to those who have beat my face up to the point where it HURTS; and I have an extremely high tolerance to pain. Elina was just right and did so with precision! I was impressed! She is extremely gentle and extremely effective. That is a talent not many have. Trust me on that!
She showed me what came out of my pores and it was intriguing and shocking. Ladies and gentleman, it is important to get facials regularly due to the fact you can’t see what is all there in and under your skin.
Her work and the products proved itself after she was all done with my facial. My pores are so small, I can’t even see them and my skin is just GLOWING! Supple, hydrated, balanced, and youthful! Amazing! Elina is a goddess and she had great suggestions afterwards for my skincare. She also gives great cheaper, natural, and wonderful alternatives if one doesn’t want to use designated skincare products. That’s great to know to incorporate that into my routine and if someone is on a budget.
I did love the products she used on my face and did buy a few items to take home so that I could maintain all the hard work she did. Love this place and highly recommend them!

I rarely give 5 stars, so this is SERIOUS.
I’ve been looking for the right person to tame my brows for quite awhile. I did a Unilocal search and finally settled on Ursula. I had been growing my brows out for quite a bit– and knew they needed some shaping. I made an appointment for a Saturday and when I arrived I was immediately greeted by Ursula and the receptionist. Everyone was very kind and I immediately felt welcome. It’s a small studio, so I was the only customer there, which I also really liked.
I thought by eyebrows were looking like Audrey Hepburn, but Ursula showed me I was more «Bert (form Bert and Ernie) than Audrey» and after getting some eyebrow education from her– she was damn right.
The thing I liked most about the experience is that she did one eyebrow first, to show me how my current brow was shaping my face, making it look wider and sorta angry. So she does the one eyebrow and they you look in the far away mirror at the one side of your face (the before) and then you look at the other side (the after). It was really amazing. The shape she did lifted my eyes up and made my face appear more oval instead of wide and circular.
The initial brow shaping for a first timer is $ 55, which I consider to be a good investment. It is an investment in yourself– and it something that comes with immediate results. People have already commented to me that I look more awake and brighter, or the simple «You look nice today!» without knowing what simple change was.
I’d recommend her to ANYONE that needs some brow help.

I got my Facial from Elina and I am very very happy with the results. She did a wonderful job and my skin is glowing now. When it comes to facials I am very skeptical as I had few very bad experiences with facials before. After reading the reviews on Unilocal I decided to go try at Ursula’s About Phace. I am very gald I made that decision. Elina first studied my skin type and educated me with what products I should use and what mistakes I have been doing to make my skin condition worse. I have extremely oily and acne prone skin and I generally am very careful about what I use on my skin and what I do to my skin. A couple of years ago I got a facial at another place and my skin was totally damaged. So, I was very careful this time to pick a good place to get a facial. I should say that this is my first ever facial which is The Best! She concentrated on my pores and cleaned them and my skin is soft and has a lot of glow now. I also had some acne when I went to see her and she is an exceptionally good job at extracting them without leaving any scar or redness. She spent almost 3 hours with me when I went to get my facial. I now now how to take care of my problem prone skin. She recommended me some products for my skin type which I was able to buy at CVS.
I am looking forward to my next facial with Elina and a make-​up session with Ursula. I generally don’t write reviews but this place really deserves one as I had the best experience ever!

A place where they really care!
My skin condition has gone really bad recently, and I went to Elina for a facial after reading the reviews. The first consultation is longer than a regular one, and for me, it went reallllly long~ because she really took time analyze my skin, and talk about my skin care routine (and yes, I took notes).
I agreed for extractions at last because I believe she knows what she is doing. And she kept her promise, no squeezing or bleeding, no discomfort at all.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is not sure if they are doing the right thing to their skin, or just wanna know more about skin care. They put a lot of attention to each client, which I really appreciate.
However, I wish they have an online appointment system, so I don’t need to call every time to make appointment.

Ursula is the eyebrow queen. You know that brow lady that all the celebs go to, and she has her own tweezer line and stuff? Ursula is that person for regular people. You will not understand how bad your brows are until Ursula has gotten her hands on them. I would suggest what another reviewer suggested, to not touch your brows until you can’t stand it anymore, then go see Ursula. I haven’t touched a tweezer since October and my brows look the best they’ve ever looked. It is a bit pricey, but the price goes down after your first time, and it’s worth. Every. Penny. I’ve never had a facial before… but the one I got with Elina? So amazing.
She was detailed, had a wealth of knowledge, and was very upfront about what I was doing wrong in regards to my skin. She was so nice, yet stern about the basics my skin needed. She didn’t try to push expensive products or even push her personal routine products on to me. She suggested what would work with my skin type and her suggestions were even great for my wallet.
Yes, it was a bit expensive since this was my first visit and consultation. however…it was worth it. Actually, it’s expensive to not get the best care for your skin and have to later shell out a lot of $$$ to correct what could’ve been prevented earlier.
I’m so glad I went. I walked away well informed and with a great, simple routine my face has been loving for several weeks now. I will definitely be going back.

Worth every penny.
I am somewhat of a seasoned veteran in the world of facials. My face has been picked and pulled at, massaged with creams, oils, and whatever else the industry has thought to conjure up. But my skin has never felt as understood as it did under Elina’s care.
Elina taught me everything I wanted to know about my skin, and a bunch of things I never even thought to ask. As some of the reviews have stated, she doesn’t push expensive products and places her faith on healthy home remedies as well as a few drug-​store brands.
My skin flared up right after coming to the States, and it has been getting worse and worse with every passing year. I used to be the kind of girl that didn’t even need a cleanser, and now I’ve spent much more money trying different «designer» brands and friend-​recommended treatments than I’d care to admit. So do yourself a favor and stop trying to treat yourself – let Elina do the work for you.

Just left Ursula’s About PHace and I am on cloud nine. My eyebrows have never looked this fierce… never ever. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere is just as pleasing. Ursula knows eyebrows and makeup and before you leave her studio, you will know a little more than you did before going to her. Tameka is also very pleasant and welcoming. If you are in desperate need of an eyebrow shaping as I was, you can’t go wrong here. Just do it, I did! The results will amaze you.

I started going to Ursula for brow shapings a few months ago and I’m hooked. I never thought my eyebrows could look this good! After years of overplucking and generally just not knowing what the hell I was doing, I decided it was time for a change. I let my brows grow in as much as I could stand and headed over to Ursula’s.
Ursula doesn’t sugarcoat it. She’s going to tell you what a mess your eyebrows are, but she’s also going to make them look amazing. If you promise not to keep plucking them, they’ll continue to grow in and look even more amazing. It’s pricey ($ 55 for the first consult/​shaping, $ 37 for each visit thereafter) but it’s worth it.
Throw away your tweezers! Stop going to crappy waxing places! Let Ursula work her magic on your brows.

Slowing bringing my eyebrows back to life. What a difference I see I love this place. Def worth it

Ursula and Tamika were so welcoming! Offered something to drink upon my arrival and then moved into the studio.
Initial consult — $ 55 (each follow up is $ 37). I am willing to pay money for the perfect eyebrows and Ursela was able to find my natural shape again! All with tweezing, no wax to droop the lids. Worried that it wouldn’t collect every hair at first, but she knew EXACTLY what she was doing.
My eyebrows and what they do: left eyebrow grows up, the other down, too thin, too short, I have one I prefer people to start with, (there’s more…). Wholly cow, she knew exactly «my story» before I could even speak! That is a first– seriously understood every part of my grandmother’s genes.
She took her time with everything ensuring the best natural brow shape. It opened my eyes like I haven’t seen them since my last esthetician who moved to MI in 2003. Yes that long.
Not only was Ursula hilarious and welcoming, but I will be back for other services as well. I actually got so consumed asking about them, I forgot to write my tip when I signed my CC. Big NO NO. So I’ll be back to drop off cash or mailing her tip ASAP! That’s bad juju.
Anyway, thanks Ursula. You left my eyebrows thick AND with a natural arch. Philly is looking out for me (since my move from CA one month ago).

I don’t know if it was the gunk and dead animal that Elina pulled out of my pores or if its due to the hope that she’s instilled in me that I can, in fact, have clear skin– I feel like a brand new woman!
Rather than repeating what many of the reviewers have already mentioned about Elina’s expertise, I’ll share what I enjoyed most about my experience.
Elina truly enjoys and is passionate about what she does and it shows. She gave me a complete lesson about how to take care of my skin (which, despite what you think you know, you’re probably cleaning/​moisturizing/​exfoliating incorrectly). This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. I was skeptic to go to somebody who would have the same routine/​type of facial that they do on all of their clients without letting them know what was truly behind the breakouts/​problematic skin. Elina sat down and told me everything that I should be doing to help my skin rather than strain it. She told me, step-​by-​step, what she was going to use during my facial and what each product/​tool did. When she breaks it down, it makes so much sense. I think what I loved most about the facial is the fact that Elina really and truly cares about the condition of your skin. It helps when you’re completely lost as to how to improve your skin and here is somebody who can not only help improve it but is passionate about doing so. Her care and passion goes a LONG way. I fully entrust my skin in her hands, after my FIRST session– that’s how good she is.
If you are like me and have no other ideas of how to better your skin, try her out. You have nothing to lose at this point (like me). It also helps to mention that I went to a derm 2 days before this appointment. I wanted different opinions as to how to improve my skin. The derm prescribed two topical antibiotic creams and an oral antibiotic. That’s it. She didn’t mention what was triggering my breakouts or how to unclog my clogged pores, which was clearly contributing to my acne. I prefer not to take the oral pill and Elina advises to hold off on it too. This contributes to how much I appreciate her expertise. I would rather not take medication for it if there could be other methods to help improve my skin first. I guess I’m to the point where I’m so sick of hating my skin that I would try ANYTHING– and a consultation/​facial with Elina seemed less risky than laser scar/​spot removal, don’t you think?
Oh, and I don’t think I have ever been as relaxed during a massage as when Elina gave me a scalp massage.
Urusla was right when she said I was going to have a great/​relaxing facial– I sure did! I also walked out– with no makeup, at that– feeling completely confident that I was well on my way to better skin! Thank you Elina!

Amazing. I had planned on going here for a facial based on the positive reviews, when a Rue La La special popped up. I immediately purchased the deal for a custom facial and scalp or arm massage. I chose scalp obviously. Why would you want an arm massage over a scalp massage?
Elina and Ursula were both super friendly. There was a mix-​up about my appointment time, but the staff was quick to offer me an appointment for the next day, and a complimentary eyebrow shaping. I haven’t taken them up on that yet.
Elina took me back to the room and had me sit on the table while we discussed my skin issues. She made some immediate suggestions and took careful notes. She said she would analyze my skin during the facial.
The facial and the scalp massage were fantastic. I was so relaxed, I almost dozed off. The smells of the different masques she used were delicious. One of them smelled like chocolate which was heavenly.
After she finished she chatted with me about my skin and gave me some advice to keep it healthy. She didn’t try to sell me anything, but recommended some home treatments, and some brands that she likes. I went to the drugstore right after so I could follow through with her advice. When I left she gave me a hug and recommended I return every season.
The next day my friend noticed that I was glowing, and I noticed that my pores were smaller and cleaned out. I am diligently following Elina’s recommendations, and I will definitely be back.
