I have only had two items from here, for delivery — Chicken Tikka Masala and plain Naan. They were absolutely delicious. Delivery was quick! Food was hot! Ok so yes, they could stand to put a few more pieces of chicken in the dish for the price… but the sauce, the rice, the naan, the white meat chicken, amazing!!!

Stop in for lunch and what a delight! My wife and I both had a luncheon special mine was pannera cheese with a creamy spinach sauce. I ate every morsel. We will go again, soon.

Tiffins has improved. Foods a bit cheaper & still good. Addef some new items plus things child may eat. Staff is very attentative

Placed an order for 9 for delivery. Set delivery time for after guests would arrive and they completely ignored the deliver time! Not only was our food 3 hours early, but it was leaking all over the place. The only offer was to have the delivery driver pick the food back up and then return the food at 5:30…no thanks I can reheat it myself!

Love there Saag Paneer! Pretty decent indian place for Graduate hospital

This review isn’t about the food, which is decent but overpriced, but rather about the terrible customer service.
We ordered for pick up through their online service and waited the suggested hour before coming to pick our food up. When we arrived, they hadn’t even started cooking our order and blamed it on their online system (even though they were able to pull up the order once we got there…).
They asked us to wait another 20 minutes, which I wouldn’t have minded if they had given us a beer or something to help right the mistake. Instead, we were charged full price, barely given an apology, and made to wait over an hour and a half for our food.
I really hope Tiffin wises up to the way they should handle customers they have inconvenienced. I won’t be dining there again solely based on the incredible lack of customer service.

My wife and I have gotten take-​out from the South Philly Tiffin several times. This review really only covers their delivery and take-​out, not sitting in the restaurant. The dishes are fine. You can specify the heat level of your main course which is good for someone who likes spicy food the way I do. The mainstays like butter chicken, tikka masala, korma, and saag paneer are all what you expect. It’s not gourmet, but it’s not bad either. We usually get some samosas and naan with our order. The peshwar naan with pistachios is actually a great treat.
Like most reviews, Tiffin is just ok. My main problem is their website and ordering system. Several times, I have ordered food for pickup, only to have it delivered. One of those times it took over an hour and a half for our food to arrive. We live 4 blocks away. It’s annoying that they cannot give you an estimated time for pickup or delivery. If you order food to take-​out, use grub-​hub or the Unilocal app. It’s more reliable than the Tiffin website.

Seriously slow delivery. About 1:45 mins when quoted 1 hr on website. Called after 1:10 and they said grubhub was more accurate for delivery time than their own website.
Good was decent but not great.

My favorite Indian food delivery in Philly!
I usually get Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikki Masala, and a lamb dish. Tiffin completely nailed each dish!
Delivery for 3 entrees and garlic naan took a little over an hour at 5 pm on a Subday. A tad slow but everything was absolutely delicious!

I’ve been here three times before, over a year ago. At that time, it was fantastic! Since I was dining alone, I sat at the bar. The bartenders were professional, friendly and efficient. The happy hour prices were excellent. Food was yummy.
So, I am extremely disappointed that tonight’s experience was the opposite. I sat at the bar and it took 10 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. And I was the only one at the bar!!! There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. When she finally approached me, she dropped a menu and left, without even asking if I wanted a drink.
I just had an Appetizer and naan. Both were very delicious. Small portions, but tasty.
However, while I was sitting at the bar being ignored, four employees were fighting over who got to leave early that night.
Sad… Cuz a year ago I loved this place. I thought it was a gem. Now I will think twice about returning.

Delivery? Great. Fairly fast and definitely delicious.
Dining in? Well that’s where things get weird. They have a great happy hour deal, which is the only time I’ve dined in. Service is slow, which is strange when you’re sitting in front of the bartender. What’s worse is that the staff talk shop, complain and overshare about the restaurant. I just want to eat my half priced appetizer, dude. I don’t need to hear about the drama. If the deal wasn’t so good and the food wasn’t so delicious, I wouldn’t dine in at all.

The chicken masala was really really good. The only problem I had was that they really skimped out on the chicken. You figure for $ 14 they would give you your money’s worth. Also, the tandoori chicken looked amazing, but it was pretty bland by itself. Luckily I had the sauce from the masala to eat it. Again, over priced. They gave us two thighs and two drum sticks for $ 14. You can get way more for your money at other places. Would love to come back here, just can’t help but feel that I’m getting ripped off.

Love this place. My boyfriend and I order from here often and it’s a great Indian restaurant. There menu has great portions and is decently priced.

Tiffin is not my favorite Indian, but it is far less expensive than my favorite, so it wins out when it comes to delivery.
After reviewing a previous order, I again ordered the chili chicken and garlic naan, plus chicken tikka masala and onion bhaji, a new-​to-​me app.
The chili chicken was completely different from what I remembered, and my fiancé and I were not fans and will not order it again. I actually loved the onion bhaji for an inexpensive and slightly guilty app (they are fried) and the chicken tikka masala was very good but contained only 7 – 8 pieces of chicken. For the price, it’s still a good deal and I’ll likely choose Tiffin next time I’m craving Indian food at home.

My first choice for dinner was busy with their happy hour crowd so decided to try Tiffin Bistro after craving it the day before. It was nearly empty so we were immediately seated and served water.
I enjoyed my citrus cocktail while my date ordered the amaretto sour. The waiter explained to us that the phones were ringing off the hook because Grubhub was down. However, our order still arrived pretty fast. They added lamb to our saag paneer for a couple extra bucks and we also had the chicken tikka masala and an order of garlic naan (3). As we are both used to the Indian buffets from West Philly and at Karma in Old City, I have to say that the amount of food served was adequate for my appetite. Granted, I have a relatively small one, but there were still leftovers.
Overall, I enjoyed our experience at Tiffin Bistro for Indian food in South Philly. The service was friendly, food was tasty albeit smaller portions than what people may be expecting, drinks were strong, atmosphere was relaxed. We were in and out in 30 minutes.
Edit: Forgot to mention I took off a star because they forgot to give us plates.

I’ve gotten delivery here a few times and have eaten in once as well. The food is a bit expensive compared to typical Indian places, but in my opinion, it’s the best Indian I’ve found in Philadelphia, and the quality and flavor are definitely worth the extra money. I always order paneer butter masala and peshawari naan (the samosas are good too though!)
The atmosphere inside is a little weird, and I wasn’t too big of a fan, so I prefer making this a take-​out place (I guess because they try to make it feel like a bistro mixed with an Indian restaurant?), but regardless, food and service is great!

Let me start off by thing that the whole experience was not just about the food.
So it was late on Christmas Day with limited delivery options and we decide to order from Tiffin on GrubHub. I should’ve called off the whole thing when it said that it was going to take an hour and 35 minutes for my food to arrive and we only live about seven blocks from there.
It was only meant to be a small supper but small was the operative word here! ‘When the food finally arrived after 90 minutes of waiting, for each of my entrée that I paid $ 15 for (lamb chattinad & chicken vindaloo) there was literally a pint of sauce –ONE SMALL PINT CONTAINER EACH – with a few chunks of meat stewed in there. The lamb was way too gamy tasting. I’ve had goat meat that’s been more tender & less gamely. An order of chili naan was one piece of naan with tiny chilis sprinkled on top, not baked into it.
Over all it was just a huge disappointment. Guess we’re going to cross tiffin off from the list of places to go in the neighborhood.

Ordered online because sometimes you just don’t feel like making dinner. You can’t go wrong with anything here, especially the chicken tikka masala.
Our order came 40 minutes (!) early, which made my stomach very happy. Is this the cheapest take-​out Indian food in the area? No. But I always know that the food will be good, so I’ll pay a few extra bucks. Add in the speedy delivery and I’m a fan forever.
