The Spa

My massage was awesome (def in top 3 I’ve had) and the service was great but the non existent amenities really suck. This isn’t a spa. This is a gym locker room. At 200 bucks a pop I want some snacks, tea, shaving cream, and a relaxing area. Four Seasons is doing a disservice to their luxury name with this spa. It’s like how certain brands were hot back in the day and now you see them at Sears. Despite the kick ass massage I won’t be back to this location. Call me when you remodel!

Friendly staff; great massage; I don’t know if the price was worth it though. I go to spas monthly.

I couldn’t have been more disappointed in my experience here. I’m not really a spa snob, it’s an occasional deep tissue massage, but this spa trip was just depressing.
You walk into a small lobby with a desk to the left. You’re then led through a hallway past the open gym area to the changing rooms and assigned a locker. You put on this rubber clog like fiipflops (very cheap looking IMHO), and then back through the lobby to sit in the main area and wait for your masseuse. No real privacy there, since this is open to the public to just walk into the spa lobby for info, retail purchases, plus the hotel guests are coming and going using the gym. Far from a relaxing experience.
Once your masseuse is ready, you’re led through a glass door to a small hallway sized room with three doors, open the door and it’s like a broom closet. I seriously felt like the janitor was going to come in at any moment to get a mop and bucket from the corner!
The massage itself was a little below average. I asked for moderate pressure, and had to twice tell her to apply more pressure, and then I just gave up. I can’t believe she was a seasoned professional and this was far from delivering standard service.
The pool was a nice size to relax in afterward and there is alcohol service at the pool. The water was pretty high in chlorine, and now, 24 hours after, my eyes are still burning. The hot tub was on the larger size and water temp was great but the jets were pretty weak. Keep in mind that this pool is for hotel guests as well as spa guests so there are families/​kids playing here while you’re trying to relax.
The locker rooms were smaller, but the shower has great pressure (too bad the guest rooms don’t have showers like this!), only problem is there are only 2 showers.
Overall, this spa was an afterthought and someone in marketings idea on how to maximize revenue in the basement closet space. With the reputation of Four Seasons worldwide, there’s doing a disservice to the brand with what they’re offering. This spa should be closed and just turned into a full hotel gym.

The Spa at the Four Seasons does not feel like a Four Seasons. I was not welcomed in. I was brought through the gym and that was it. I had to stop the girl and ask her to tell me where things were– she said «it’s not very big, you can’t miss anything»
I swam in the pool which was a good temp and sat in the jaccuzzi which had an uncovered hole at the bottom.
The sauna was small but hot. The worst part of this whole «experience» was that nothing was stocked– towels, brushes, water, etc. It was bad. I went out to the same front desk girl (asian) and told her there were no towels in the locker rooms– she said there were a couple by the pool. She was right. The lady in the locker room saw me come in with towels and asked where I got them– I told her I got the last ones out by the pool.
Steve did my massage and he was great (that’s why there are two stars).
When I check ed out the guy checking me out said I did not have to tip– who says that? They were closing and I dont think he wanted to deal with it. Dumb. There really was no water anywhere. I will wait to come back until the new one opens in the new Four Seasons.

To say I am a fan of anything Four Seasons would be a total understatement. I’m not shy about my love of the finer things in life and the Four Seasons brand certainly caters to that sentiment.
My beau and I enjoyed a day at The Spa right before Christmas and it was pretty fantastic. The services are very costly. I do have a go-​to spa already that is just as nice (though doesn’t include the perks of an indoor pool/​whirlpool and gym) and far easier on the wallet. However, there is currently a Weekday Reset package (offered Mon-​Thurs from 9 – 5) that makes a trip to The Spa at Four Seasons Philly within reason. At $ 100 for two twenty-​five minute sessions, it’s still spendy but doable.
First, you pick from a selection of massages and facials. I went with the deep tissue massage. Then, you choose from another list of services. I chose the scalp treatment. I expected my treatments to be separate, but my massage therapist worked them both into one fifty minute session, which was absolutely incredible. I really felt like I was getting away with something, since a fifty minute massage service normally costs around $ 150. It was wonderful!
After the treatment, I was given a light snack which I enjoyed while relaxing by the pool for the rest of the afternoon. Weekday Reset, we shall rendezvous again.

Wow… an afternoon at the four season spa is one of the best days in the world… it gets no better than this! I wish there were more Unilocal stars!
Upon entering, the lady at the front desk kindly welcomed my girlfriends and I to the spa, she showed us to the locker room, and really showed a genuine interest in making sure that we were well taken care of.
We first spent some time by the pool. We ordered some food and champagne, relaxed, went for a swim, and just enjoyed the time leading up to our appointment. I’m so glad that we took the time to enjoy our time at the facility. There are a great pool and spa amenities that you can take advantage of before and/​or after your appointment.
The massage was WONDERFUL! I had the hot towel massage with a paraffin treatment on my feet. I just cannot describe how wonderful it was. The massage therapist was careful to maintain the right amount of pressure, was very soothing in her demeanor, and just all around wonderful. I did not want my massage to end! At the end of the appointment I felt like I was floating… pure bliss :)
While the services are indeed a bit pricey, the entire experience is superb. We truly enjoyed every minute from start to end. I couldn’t pick out one thing to critique, if I tried.

You’ll pay a pretty penny for a service here at the Four Seasons’ spa but it’ll be worth it.
Service is top notch. I walked into the hotel and asked if they had a shop where I could pick up something for a headache. The staff actually provided me with Motrin and a bottle of water, right on the spot, and wished me well.
Making the appointment was an incredibly pleasant experience. They were almost totally booked up for the day but made some tweaks and were able to squeeze us in. Score.
Chris is an amazing masseuse. I’d absolutely, positively recommend him to anyone.
The cons?
The waiting area is lacking. You can either fight for a seat among families around the pool or sit in an alcove area at a table. It’s just not very relaxing or comfortable.
This place could bankrupt you. For just 50 minutes of a massage, you’ll drop over $ 150. Not something I’d be able to do on the regular.

Wow oh wow oh wow! I don’t usually take the time to review things — but I have to share what an amazing experience I had. I think that it’s a given that the ambiance, service, and overall experience at the Four Seasons Spa will be top of the line and I had high expectations. But they far exceeded any expectations that I had. I arrived early and took advantage of the pool and whirlpool area and then got some tea and relaxed until my appointment. I got a body scrub, massage, and a facial (they have a great package «The Fundamental»).
If you are looking for the best massage of your life — definitely ask for Luis. He was AMAZING! I wish that I lived in Philadelphia and could indulge more often :)
