Quite frankly, I’ve had better Chinese food. The egg drop soup wasn’t all that bad, but the sweet and sour shrimp was a bit too crunchy for me. Not sure if I’ll be ordering from here again, but it’s close to campus and very reasonably priced.

I have yet to find a chinese take-​out place that makes especially great food in Philadelphia. While most places disappoint somewhat, Ta China Gourmet is the only place I’ve gotten completely inedible food from. I think the meat used may have been rancid, or at least had an intensely unpleasant sick-​sweet taste and a firm, brittle texture. Maybe you’ll get safe food with your order, but I’m certainly not going to risk it again.
