Where to being. A gentlemen and I walk in at the same time, he is slightly ahead of me so he orders first. I wait in THIER designated line by the sign for the line, so that I’m not in the other customers business (which they allow to happen at no end at this location… Wouldn’t be surprised if debit card pins were getting stolen)
A second gentlemen walks in and stands right next to the cashier in the their customers business. The barista finishes with first gentlemen and begins with the second gentlemen. I said excuse me several times and said that I had already been standing in line.
The barista says oh ok, and seems confused. The other customer seems to have no idea what a line is. I place my order, the barista has clearly gotten short in her responses to me. The second gentlemen goes to place his order and she greets him with a big smile and apologizes… For what? Because I kindly respected your other customers and waited in line where YOUR sign says to?
This location has been annoying me from day 1. I go about once a week, every time the staff is completely different, which would be fine if any of them were ever on the same page… Which they aren’t. When I go they usually don’t have too many people in line and I see orders getting screwed up almost every time. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ICED COFFEE. It tastes watered down and down right crappy. I have had it more than 5+ times. It’s not a particular barista or day of the week. It’s always bad. I don’t understand how your screw that up. Ice, coffee, skim milk.
If I visit this location again, it’s because I still have $ 8 left on a gift card I got as a gift and the location is convenient. Otherwise, I have no reason to continue with a business that doesn’t care about their own lines, the privacy of their customers, the quality of their drinks, the attitude of (most but not all) of their staff, and If corporate Starbucks doesn’t care about any of that, they’ll care about all the wasted drinks I’ve seen poured down the drain due to mistakes because that’s their money!
Never in my life did I think I would be so annoyed with a freaking coffee shop.

From August to December I went for regular meetings at UPenn and this was my regular coffee and bagel stop right before it. Great service, great products, great location. No complaints at all.

Much better than your average Starbucks!
First, it’s much larger with a very pleasant upstairs seating area.
Second, it’s open until midnight, unlike most other coffee shops here.
Third, the service here has been very good with friendly baristas who actually seem to enjoy working here.
Its definitely one of the best Starbucks I’ve been to!

I think the management has changed and so now everything is streamlined. I always get a smiley face on my drinks which are made right. So, great job to Starbucks for listening to their customers.

It’s a Starbucks and you probably know what the food tastes like so let’s talk about cleanliness, service, and seating situation. On the cleanliness front, this place could do much better. It’s a really high traffic store and I think that makes it difficult to keep clean, but I think they could do better. The service is definitely not not the friendliest either. Sometimes it may feel like you’re asking for a favor rather than paying for a latte. And lastly seating. This place gets seriously packed!!! Like outrages lines so get ready to NEVER find seating and get bumped into about 20 times while you wait for your drink. But sometimes you just need coffee and this place will do the trick.

I know it’s really busy at this particular location but the cashier was extremely rude and my drink was… half full… what.
Even if it gets busy please don’t show that to your customers.

The line moved fairly well and I got my drink pretty quick. Service was fine.
This Starbucks seems pretty busy & full, so it’s difficult to get seats.

This location is dirty, the staff is consistently rude, and they put zero effort into preparing your order. I’ve tried this location several times, but I’ve given up hope. Many more attractive options in the area.

I can only imagine the lines here with this location between Penn and CHOP. Luckily I’ve been going at off peak hours so I haven’t had to wait. Lots of seating here and friendly baristas.

Nice Starbucks with a lot of seating upstairs. It was a little crowded and loud when I was here since there’s so much seating.

Waited a good five minutes just to get an iced coffee. Baristas seemed irritable and were rude to customers. Not a good Starbucks experience will not be going back

If you’re in University City and you want to go to Starbucks, this is the one to go to. The baristas work so hard to keep that long line moving along quickly and smoothly. And they are so cheerful while they are at it. It CAN be hard to find a seat, sometimes, because the place is small and it gets really crowded. But that makes it lively. Drinks are made right. Cream and sugar table is always well supplied. Despite the crowd, they manage to keep the place clean.

Now that UPenn is back in session the lines are to the door. I am impressed with how quickly the baristas are able to complete orders. I have always been greeted with a smile & my order has always been made correctly. The second floor makes finding seating convenient; however, some people will hog the big tables with homework.

Coffee is great, staff is very polite, convenient location for me, service is the worst. very slow, hate their long lines, waste of my time just to get a regular latte.

This starbucks is the one I happen to use most often because it’s closest to my place of employment. It’s quite cramped offering very little communal sitting areas and service is most definitely hit or miss as some baristas there are superb and others not so much. This place is also constantly packed on week days so I can understand why some baristas may be crabby. Being that it’s on UPenn campus and constantly busy, expect to wait roughly 10 – 15 minutes for your order unless you’re ordering regular coffee black.

All Starbucks are some variation of the same. The servers are all nice here, and like many places they are bad at spelling names. But they try.
The space is nice here. They have a fair amount of seating upstairs and a small amount outside for those nice days.
I had read about the Secret menu, which has so many items it’s hard to believe all Starbucks can really accommodate the requests. On this day, I found that to be the case. I asked for an Oreo Cookie Frap. I was told, «Well, we don’t really have Oreo Cookies.» But, they did suggest the closest thing which was pretty tasty.
Anyway, the problem with Starbucks, all of them, this one included, is they are too pricey. I had a giftcard, so whatev, I went.

This location is pretty nice. Narrow entrance so the line formation can be sloppy but the seating is pretty scattered. The window seats is a must; you get to enjoy people watching lol. There is an upstairs seating area but that’s mainly for students anyway.

We were touring University City and needed a beverage before walking the Penn Campus and this Starbucks offered convenience and quick service.
The line was almost out the door upon entry. We were impressed at how fast the barista’s were able to expedite the line and provide drinks to the masses, including us.
No complaints here. Drinks were fast and accurate and we were happy and on our way.

I have been here twice over the last 3 years.
Got my latte and got out.
No issues — but not a HG (Holy Grail) either.
