Went here for a pedicure and fake nails… The staffs are very friendly and it was easy parking. I nails look great for my wedding and I love my toes design ;)

Horrible is an understatement!!! I only went there because my usual salon is closed on Sunday and I live in that area. I went for nails got pushed into a pedicure. Well thankfully I did the pedi it was the only half decent part of this experience! The nail tech put 3 coats of gel polish plus 2 to coats on acrylic nails!!! Literally it look like a 1^st grader paint led them plus she cut every finger she worked on. That night a nail broke that’s how inexperienced she was!!! Then I think a Diane did my lashes she definitely has no experience in this and has no license to do lashes!!! The quality of the lashes were so bad I felt like I had hair brush bristles in my eyes, YES OUCH!!! I had to remove them the next day because she refused to while I was there trying to convince me they looked good I pulled out most of my natural lashes OUCH AND YUCK!!! It’s filthy and the workers are ignorant as if they actually know what they’re doing and the patrons are misinformed!!! Save your money, time and pain don’t try this place!!!

This place is terrible for nails. They don’t use clean or fresh tools, they use an electric nail file on your cuticles. They don’t even do a good job filing, truly the most horrendous place I have ever been. Even the nail polish is old and messy.
I used to live in South Philly and had gone here a few years ago. It has changed drastically. The whole place seemed dirty and the employees were all hanging around, eating, etc in the customer areas.
I wish I had gotten up and left when I first saw the old nail file she pulled out.
Yes, it’s very cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I go here regularly. I have always had great service. My mani/​pedi is always neat professional and I am in and out in no time. Kathy does me, and I am willing to wait for her if she has someone. I have even taken my daughters in for pedis, and they loved it. The place is clean and neat.

Never, Ever again. I went Saturday and had my hair dyed along with a manicure and pedicure. I told the woman I do not want my hair black. I stressed it over and over and over. Well, guess what color my hair came out. Ugh… On top of it, she burnt my scalp in the front of my head from leaving the dye on for so long. I should have left once I saw how filthy this place was. Would it hurt to give a fresh coat of paint? maybe bend down and clean the 2 inches of crust and dirt at the bottom of the cabinets? In addittin, my toe nails were cut too short. Ever since Tina left to open her own salon this place has gone down hill and continues to go down hill. Trust me, stay away. God only knows now long it is going totake to get this horid black out of my hair. Where did these people get their beauty license?

This review is for their mani/​pedi services. I used to go to Donna for my services and she does a great job. She’s very precise and takes her time. She was the first person I went to for a gel manicure and it turned out very pretty. She also makes sure she massages your feet during pedi and hands during mani which some places may skip. Also with the pedi services she uses hot stones. Now I give it 3 stars because the receptionist can be unprofessional at times and they can use a bit of renovation here and there.

I went here the other day for a Brazilian wax. First it is by far one of the cheapest places around, which is what initially caught my eye! $ 35 for a Brazilian is about half the cost of most salons. I have gotten these now for a couple years, so I’m really comfortable with the process. At South Philly Day spa, the wax was good, got the job done and was quick (got it on my lunch hour). But I wouldn’t recommend it if you are getting one for the first time, or are still uncomfortable with the process. The woman that waxed me was very quiet and would have made me feel awkward if it was my first time. Also, the wax was done in a back room at the salon. I’m assuming the same room they use for other types of waxes, massages, ect. Other salons, have a really relaxing and comforting atmosphere, this one was just in, out, done. Overall, I’m definitely going back because of the price and the fact that they did a pretty good job. I just wouldn’t recommend it to a friend for their first time or anything.

South Philly Day Spa is my go-​to place for a massage. Linda is amazing! Definitely a rejuvenating experience.

I’ve been having my nails done here for years. Contrary to what some other posters said, this place is NOT dirty. I get mani/​pedis about once a month and manicures every two weeks. If I have one complaint, it’s that their scheduling system sucks. Even if you make an appointment, there’s a good chance you’ll have to wait. Other than that, my nails are done to perfection. Since I’m color blind. Trina, my manicurist, always helps pick my color for me. She knows exactly what I like. And since I’ve been using her for such a long time, we always ask about the other’s family. I can’t say enough good things about South Philly Day Spa.

Friendly & inexpensive.
If they want to have better reviews & possibly even charge a little more here’s my advice:
They need more of a polish selection, should accept AmEx, respect their English only speaking clients by not chatting and lastly, if they must have children there please keep them from playing in walking paths & most definiently no running (safty hazard.) A updated décor wouldn’t hurt either but we can’t be too picky ;)

I’ve been here many times to get my nails and feet done. It’s been a while since I’ve been, but this place popped into my mind today.
I was a repeat customer for some time, they would give me 2 glasses of wine. Well not really wine wine, but Arbor Mist.
The massage I got was great! The room was nice and dim, smelled fresh, candles, and relaxing music. The décor was pretty. She did a really good deep tissue massage. I just got my upper body done for 30 minutes.
I only stopped going because I don’t like acrylics anymore, plus I can give myself a regular manicure and pedicure at home.

We used to get our hair cut here but the person answering the phone kept telling us we had as appointment but it turned out our regular woman wasn’t even there. On top of it, it’s really dirty in there. Everything is covered with dust and dirt.

This review is for their nail service: This place is never packed. Especially in the afternoons during the week. I like that it has a parking lot instead of having to park on the street. I like the way they do nails but they are a little more expensive than other nail salons.

Worst facial ever! I went to the South Philly Day Spa for a facial after a really long few days at work. (I couldn’t get an appointment at my regular spot and this place takes walk ins). My expectations were low– really I just wanted to relax. In the world on non-​beauty school facials, $ 50 is low end. I didn’t expect super glowing skin from a budget facial, just an hour of calm.
The place was filthy. The towels smelled like mold. The face steamer smelled like mildew.
It started with towels that burned my face. When I said they were too hot the lady laughed and just moved them.
The massage part of the facial consisted of her pounding on my forehead with fists. I think I am lucky I didn’t get a concussion.
The whole thing, which was advertised as a 60 minute treatment, took about 25 minutes.
The only pleasant part of the experience was the hot stones they placed under my neck.
Seriously, I cannot say enough bad things about this place.
