I love this dog park! There is nothing fancy to it, but it is perfect for what my dog needs. There is not an overabundance of dogs here, so I don’t have to worry about all of the different personalities(like at most dog parks). During the summer, I would take my pup here everyday. He would play in the little doggy pool while I studied. It is a peaceful park with plenty of space for him to run around in. Everyone I have met here, including their dogs have been extremely friendly!

If this dog park is private then let’s take it off of Unilocal and put a freaking sign out front. The last thing I need is to bring my dog after a long day only to get dirty looks from residents who rarely use it! I have a confession, up until today I had no idea it was private! I went all winter and it was empty! I even ran in to someone there who also drove with the intention of letting their trespassing dogs run. Put a sign up please! As dog people we are supposed to be united. No need to be rude.

I live around the corner from Sherman Mills and often walk my dog past this dog park. On occasion, for fun, I bring my dog to the empty dog park. He enjoys to sniff around, catch a ball, and on occasion, socialize with another dog. It’s funny because the tenants of Sherman Mills can be territorial. Some feel that only their tiny community should partake in usage of the park.(Perhaps that’s why it’s always empty?) I still bring my doggie there, as often as I see fit. The only downside is that there aren’t many doggie friends for him to play with. I would try other parks, but seeing as to how this one is right around the corner … I’ll will deal with some of the resident’s side eyes. YES, I brought my dog here … AND?! Gotta problem? Go talk to someone about it.

My pup likes this park a lot! It’s on the smaller side which is nice to keep an eye on puppy playtime. The ground is covered in gravel, water dishes provided, there’s benches for humans, and the park is set next to an old horse stable which is just neat!

They now have cool water flowing from a hose with a large(even by great dane standards) bowl! And to answer Tom S. Walking away from Ridge Ave. it is the last road on the right off of scotts lane that can take you to Sherman Mills(usually they have the 18 wheeler trailer sitting there) Walk down that lane and it will be around back on the left hand side(look for the red barn) You can also look on the map, I placed the pin fairly close to the entrance, close enough that if you are at the pin, you can’t miss the wooden door that kind of looks like a fence.
