This is our after work spot and Matt is my favorite bartender. Drink prices are great and the electronic juke box has great sound. There’s always parking on the street and dogs are welcome.

Fun spot, great beer selection. Suggestion: invest in NFL Sunday Ticket! There are no local bars in the neighborhood that have it.

Soooooo, this is my corner spot. I dig this place so so much. Emma is super sweet & friendly and the clientele isn’t painfully cool just yet(if you’re from the neighborhood, you know what I mean). I will say it seems busier every week, and I’m sure I’ll soon be waiting for a seat at the bar. I wish they had more bourbon, but the beer selection is formidable. The food is consistent & the edamame on the menu makes me sooooooo happy. Seriously, sometimes you don’t want fried food.

Great prices and Cubans here. The bartenders are interesting as well and provided good service. The first few things I wanted to order on the menu were no longer there so minus a star for the menu upkeep. Either way I will be back!

I’m a total fan, a great bar if you are tired of the overly painful hipness of the El Bar. Great prices on booze and food. Though I am not giving them a 5 star because there are still some things that need working out on the menu. But the staff is great and they make it a place everyone comes to.

I just moved up to Kensington and there was a lack of a good beer selection(tasty) or food Priced to take home or sit in and then I found Shenanigans Saloon Under the El. They have an amazing Cuban sandwich not a panini! They have this amazing Root Beer Beer, the have the wonderful Sly Fox helles and a nice Draft selection. They have specials and really kewl bartenders. I love Den and the guys are super. The owners are a great family and making Philly a wonderful place. Check this play out, you will be happy you did.

This bar very recently opened up a block from our office, and I’ve tried it out twice already. Since it is brand new, they are slowly getting operational, and just got a bar food menu this week. That being said, I’ve been impressed so far! They have a pretty large beer selection, and the beer menu is listed along the wall. I’ve ordered mostly drafts, Narragansett and Yuengling, and they’ve been good. We tried the fries and jalapeño hummus and homemade chips from the menu today, and they were both very good as well! Fries were a little soggy and a lot of greasy(they’re the very thin kind), but the homemade chips and hummus were outrageously good. Everything came out quickly, the bartender was very attentive, but we were some of the only patrons downstairs. I’ve seen a family go to the upstairs and eat, so it seems family friendly. Only downside is the loud elevated El right outside the door, and it’s cash only(maybe only for right now?) Overall, I’m so glad this place opened so close to our office, and look forward to seeing it grow.

I wish this place wasn’t called Shenanigans, because that makes me think of crappy Irish sports bar which this definitely is not. Sure they have a million TVs showing various games, but they also have a good selection of draft beers, 15 different kinds of whiskey, and a great kitchen. The jalapeño hummus with home made chips is great, the meatball quasadella was good but slightly bland, and I heard the wings were good. They are new and still working out their staff, but a welcome addition to front street. Ignore the name, ignore the lame sign out front, and enjoy a pretty hip bar with good food. Oh, and their city wide is great — $ 4 for 16oz gansett, PBR, or rolling rock with a shot of whiskey.
