I’ve been coming to Sara’s for a while now as I love that she truly takes care of my clothing and they always come back smelling sweet and fresh! Always the best service and I love that she is able to do a drop off at my building.

Sara is warm and welcoming to her business. Asked for some shirts and pants for the next day and they were able to do it promptly. Thanks!

I’ve been here 3 times and will not return.
The first time was to have a pair of slacks hemmed, cleaned and pressed. The hem was a bit shorter than when I was measured in the store. Oh well, not that bad. Life goes on.
The second time I brought in a very nice suit (I got it for $ 750 on sale) for alterations. I had lost a little weight and it wasn’t fitting correctly. The lady there told me the suit was cheap, out of style, and that she wouldn’t do the work because I was better off buying a suit that was fashionable.
Wow, I was in disbelief. But, I was polite and figured she was right because she is the expert. (I’ve since found a person that actually did this for me, and it wasn’t hard for them or expensive for me).
The third, and final, time I went back because you know, third time’s a charm.
I brought in a very nice pair of raw selvedge denim (cost me $ 100) that needed to be tapered. Before seeing the jeans, she said she could do a taper.
When I took the jeans out of the bag, she took one look and told me the jeans were cheap and it would cost me more to have her do a taper and that I was better off buying another pair. I told her they weren’t cheap jeans, to which she told me that buying another pair of the same jeans was cheaper than her rate of $ 40-​$ 50.
At no point did I divulge the retail price of the jeans.
She then told me that she could hem the jeans for me. I stated I didn’t want a hem. She told me that my jeans look sloppy when rolled up. I never asked for an opinion on my fashion choice, just asked for a taper.
At that point I politely told her to have a nice day and left.
I will not return here, ever, as I don’t feel it’s the owners place to tell me that she feels my clothing is too cheap for her to do work on and turn me away.
If you want to be treated like a fool for what you bring in there, then this is the place for you.
I found another place that does denim alterations, and they are getting my business.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about this place after experiencing about two years of bad and mediocre dry cleaning throughout fairmount and center city. Though initially the prices seemed a little on the higher side, they’re actually pretty standard for Philly. And it’s more than worth it. Everyone is incredibly friendly, and they’ve managed to save a few sweaters and dresses I was sure were goners. I go out of my way to bring my dry cleaning and alterations here.

Didn’t really experience the great service everyone raves about. Results were about standard for a dry cleaner.

This is my usual place to take my dry cleaning. Sara has been able to get stains out of all the clothes I’ve brought to her. She also sewed on a button for me in a few minutes so I didn’t have to come back and pick it up. The prices are a bit on the high side compared to cleaners in the ‘burbs but I think comparable for center city. It usually costs 7 – 10 dollars to dry clean a blouse and 20 dollars for a suit. It’s a $ 15 minimum for credit cards, which I’ve been burned with before. Bring cash!

Please don’t go here. Absolutely unprofessional and ridiculously expensive prices.

I brought my wedding dress to Sara’s A-​List two weeks before my wedding. I had purchased it second hand and saw some spots at the bottom. She warned me that she might not be able to remove the spots but she was willing to try as long as I understood it might not work. The dress was ready within a few days. When I arrived she told me that she usually turns brides away that close to the wedding but she could not do that to me due to the condition of my dress. Turns out what I thought was an ivory dress was actually white. She did a beautiful job in a timely manner.

I spilled nail polish on a faux fur throw. Then I said to myself, «I know how to remedy this situation!» and busted out my acetone. Well, all my remaining quarter bottle of acetone generously applied and rubbed about, and the grand result was… It didn’t look like I spilled nail polish anymore, oh no, it looked like I smeared nail polish over a much larger area of the throw, plus it was wet and gross, and the fumes gave me a headache.
My regular dry cleaner are fast, reasonably priced, and have unfailingly reliable same-​day services, but they don’t treat stains. They ignore all special instructions on the regular. So I turned to Unilocal!with my appears-​to-​be ruined blanket in need.
I brought my throw in to Sara’s and it still had dog hairs on it (I didn’t want to throw it in the wash and chance messing up other items). They took it, $ 30 and 4 days later it was like new. She was very apologetic and said it wasn’t 100%, but probably 99.9%. A part of me was expecting it to still look completely ruined and then I will have to try to stand my ground for a refund and meekly accept defeat after they explain all their valiant efforts in detail. Instead, my throw is back how it’s supposed to be (through dry cleaning magic), and we’re just getting more dog hair on it now so that it will be like my little mishap never happened.

My boss needed his jacket pressed for a meeting and I was in a hurry, the did it with no problem in 15min and for only $ 6. Everywhere else I called said no, I will be back.

Went into Sara’s for the first time last week with quite a large dry cleaning order including pieces like white silk, faux leather, and several sweaters. She assured me that some pieces would be more difficult to clean than others and that one stain on a white sweater may not even come out after multiple cleanings. Not only did Sara’s get every single stain out when I went to go pick up my order this week, but her prices were so reasonable I couldn’t believe it. Will definitely be visiting again!

Sara’s is probably one of the best Laundry experiences I’ve had. I dropped off a suit and a jacket that needed repairs. Total for the dry cleaning and repairs on the jacket were VERY reasonable. I’ll definitely be using her again.
Only Con is the parking. It’s right next to the hospital so just be careful with it.

I took a dress that was stained with foundation (liquid makeup) to this place and they got all of the stains out for $ 14.

Sara’s was the first cleaners I had ever used for anything period, and I’ve never had a reason to go anywhere else. A few of the other reviewers have stated that the prices are slightly higher than other places, but if they are, I think they are totally justified by the amazing service. A lot has been said by others about the great service, but one thing I think is unique about Sara is her honesty. She is very upfront and detailed about letting you know how much an alteration will be and certainly does not pressure or lie in order to do business. I recently took a pair of pants that were stained near the bottom of the pant-​leg; she took a quick look and told me directly that she could try to get it out, but that more likely than not, the stain would stay in. I doubt another store owner would have been so honest with me, and I really do think she looks out for you.

I’ve been going to Sara’s for about two years now, and have nothing but praise.
Always friendly, and will go out of her way to accommodate needs — both with cleaning and alterations. She’s gotten a ton of my clothes cleaned and back to me the next day, and has pressed a suit for me five minutes before she closed up for the day.
Highly recommend.

This Dry cleaner place is the best! Such a friendly lady who always remembers you. Pretty cheap prices and she can get any stain out! I’ve never had a problem here and our clothes are always clean and fresh!

Sara’s is a great cleaner. She is very well priced for dry cleaning and other cleaning jobs. However her alteration prices are very expensive. Like someone mentioned below, she charges $ 30 to do a very simple hem on a dress. I sew myself (but don’t have a machine in Philly) and know the difficulty of many items. This dress was as simple as it would get. Another tailor down the road charged $ 15 and did an amazing job.
I do love Sara’s and will continue going to her, but only for cleaning jobs.

I took two everyday maxi-​dresses here to get hemmed because I’m a shorty. Just to take a couple inches off cost $ 30 per dress. which I thought was kind of ridiculous. Where I used to live in CA, it usually cost me around $ 10 so I was a bit thrown off at how expensive it was at Sara’s. Because I’m not any sort of expert about alterations, I looked up the average price to get a dress hemmed and if the info is correct, it’s around $ 14. Maybe it’s because we’re in the city, I’m not sure.
She had the dresses ready after 2.5 weeks which again, I’m not sure if that’s the usual waiting time but I am spoiled and used to only waiting around three days. When I picked up my dresses, I immediately noticed a small tear (looked like a scissor cut) in the very front of one of the dresses that was definitely not there before. Sara denied it was their doing, but she fixed it for free and I got it back one week later. I was afraid the tear would still be noticeable, but I can’t even find where it was anymore which is a relief.
Sara is a nice lady so I feel a little conflicted… but I think I will try out other places before I go back again.

Get in align with this little shop. The seamstress here is legit and than some. I wanted to turn an old dress into a new found success for a 20’s themed speakeasy party last week and after going to a few different ( Unilocal) recommended places that wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for a simple hem i spotted this place in my walk home. The owner/​seamstress was super friendly and advised she could fix my dress for a mere 20.00. Not only was the dress perfect it was done earlier than she promised.
I will definitely be making this place my go to for alterations.
