Revelations

Sadly, Revelations is closing! They are moving to the west coast, and who can blame them? However, there is one perk~~closing SALE! All of their merchandise is 20−70% off… yes!

I’ve been trying to go to Revelations for a while now (ever since I read Rachel’s review mentioning the queen bee wallets & bags… love that line!), but it doesn’t have great hours.
Nevertheless, I finally made in there on Saturday afternoon and was fairly impressed. The clothing selection, which includes both men’s and women’s items, reminds me of what you would find at a slightly higher-​end version of Old City’s Lost + Found boutique. At first, nothing grabbed my attention but my luck changed when I turned to the sales rack. I found a perfect flutter-​sleeve t-​shirt marked down from $ 26 to $ 12.50. Now that’s a deal! Since I was already buying something, I figured that I’d check out the jewelry case… it was filled with some great sale buys too. I picked up a Figs & Ginger necklace at 30% off — I’ve had my eye on this necklace since the Art Star Craft Bazaar, so I was pretty psyched. And hey, why not toss in a pair of hoop earrings made from a coconut shell? They’re only $ 10!
Now that I’ve shopped there in the summer, I’m excited to go back in the fall/​winter to see what else Revelations has to offer.

Seriously great stuff. A little on the pricey side, but they have a lot of sales. And, some of the best jewelry in the city. Every time I go in, i leave with some sort of new ring, earrings, or necklace. They also carry queen bee wallets and purses, which are my new favorite covet items. I would suggest getting on their email list, because they often announce sales and give online coupons. I have always found the staff cheerful, friendly and helpful, and if you are lucky, there may be a dog hanging out in the store too!
Another fourth street gem.

Nothin’ like a little retail therapy to make a girl feel better… so after I got a facial at Juju Spa across the street I decided to stop in and check out this little boutique. It’s perfect for a tee shirt wearing girl like myself — they have tons of cute ones plus a really good selection of casual summer dresses made out of the softest cotton. The woman who was working there was super nice and helpful, and we chatted the whole time. I left with two dresses and a smile on my face. I only wish there was a bigger selection of men’s clothing — as of today, they had lots of printed tees but nothing a little dressier. Hubby’s gonna have to step up his fashion IQ if he’s going to roll around town with me and my dresses!

I’m a fan. Yes, things here are expensive, but they are also fun. However, I suspect they order from the same catalog as other «hipster» stores, because I saw THE EXACT SAME MERCHANDISE at Art Star in Liberties Walk. Seriously, the exact same stuff. Either these stores are owned by the same person, or one is the evil twin of the other — now if only I could figure out which one…

This place makes me wish I had more disposable income. With really funky, artist designed t-​shirts, skirts, jeans, dresses and bags, I pretty much wanted everything. The t-​shirt designs were subtle, screen prints with interesting necks. I really liked this off-​the shoulder scoop flashdance sweatshirt thing but with a price tag of $ 89 I couldn’t bring myself to do it even with the 30% off sale. They also had nifty accessories like hats and jewelry. The fact that many of their items were made of natural fibers is a plus. The price tags were a huge minus.

A secret little spot across from the Fourth Street Delicatessen. The guy who owns Revelations is so nice an helpful. Revelations sells mens and women’s T-​shirts and sweatshirts and even baby clothes. They have beautiful skirts and jewelry, too. Most of the clothes are Free People or some type of natural, funky line.
