Prince & Baron

Ahhh, where to begin. My experience with Prince and Baron was quite the ride. Always considering myself fashionable, but never shelling out the big bucks for something fancy, the idea of getting a suit for my own wedding was quite a challenge. After exploring the vintage angle and searching far and wide on the web, I had an idea of what I was looking for. I decided to go bold and angled for a sharp looking slim fitted electric blue suit. I know, daring right? After exploring the various avenues around the city, it became apparent that a bespoke ensemble was the only way I was going to make this happen. I knew this would be costly, but decided to take the plunge.
I stepped into Stephanie’s (the owner) tiny office as my first ever experience in bespoke clothing. It was very unprofessional, in fact it was just some else’s business office, but I didn’t mind. She was personal and respectful and listened to what must have sounded like a ridiculous idea. I was nervous about my choice and as I talked her into it, I talked myself into it as well. She guided me through all the little nuances and I though I decided to go for it, I was still a bit nervous that when the finished suit showed up I might look like a clown. We were designing an entire suit off of one brilliantly blue little swatch after all.
The suit finally came and after some tailoring, fit like a glove. It looked awesome, I looked awesome, and it absolutely killed at the wedding. My dream of a sharp suit popping out against the green forest background came through as my wife and I looked incredible on the big day. 5 stars for Prince and Baron right?
If only the story stopped there.
After only wearing the suit for a few hours the seams of the liner of the suit were shredded under the axilla of both arms and along the midline of the back. I was hoping that after spending this kind of money I would have the suit for a long time and could break it out on future special occasions. I politely reached out to Stephanie via email as that had been our primary form of contact over the exchange. Surely the purveyor of a $ 900 suit would make amends for such an apparent flaw. She never replied. I emailed again, and again no reply. I then made several phone calls which all were ignored. She just disappeared. Needless to say I was furious. I am now stuck with a shredded $ 900 suit or an additional tailoring bill with no accountability whatsoever from the business owner.
P&B gets 2 stars because, damn, that suit looked good, but buyer beware, there is zero costumer service and flaws in the product will not be remedied. Take your business elsewhere.

I would steer clear of Prince & Baron. My experience getting 3 custom shirts was unacceptable. The measurements were inaccurate and the customized shirt features and even the color of the shirt I ordered were wrong. Customer service was non-​existent and non-​responsive. For a men’s custom clothing company to be successful, customer service needs to be impeccable and the initial order needs to be perfect. For those living in Philly — I would recommend going elsewhere like Enzo’s, Suit supply, Boyd’s, commonwealth proper, or even Indochino. They know how to treat customers. Zero stars.

I heard about Prince & Baron from a family member and needed a few items made. Based on the high praise I decided to go to Stephanie for a fitting. I got a suit and a sport coat — both turned out perfectly. It’s generally hard for me to find a suit that fits well, given my athletic build and extra long arms, but these fit great. I got those made a few months ago and will be ordering more suits, coats, and shirts this week! Couldn’t be happier! Thanks Stephanie!

Excellent quality; great way to buy a completely custom men’s suit.

Having unusually long arms makes it difficult to find shirts that fit of the rack. Prince & Baron solved that problem quite nicely. They have plenty of options and will work with you until you are satisfied. They have a very nice and courteous staff that produces quality clothes. They under promise and over deliver.

I surprised my boyfriend with 3 shirts from Prince and Baron for his birthday. With all the fabrics and options for collar, cuffs, etc it seemed we would never be able to decide. Stephanie was wonderful making the choices easy and guiding based on where and when the shirts would be worn. The finished product was perfect. We were so impressed with the quality, service and affordability that my friend is planning to go back to have a suit made. I highly recommend Prince and Baron.

The shirt fit perfectly and was exactly what I asked for. Stephanie helped me pick out the perfect colors and accents. Most importantly everything was received on time and the price was right. Definitely going back for more shirts and suits for work!

1 Star is probably too high for this place. I bought a Groupon back in July for this «tailor» for 3 custom made shirts, 2 ties and cuff links. Their old location was in a University of Pennsylvania conference room, interrupted by students claiming they had rights to use the conference room. Whatever, no big deal, this company was setup as someone’s grad school project, as long as the product comes out fine… WRONG. I got «fitted» the day after Labor Day, picked my colors, cuffs, collar, etc. Went back for the 2^nd fitting over a month later at their new location which is basically my office at work. Had to change in a spare office to try on my shirt (1 because apparently the other 2 were going to be made later), which the sleeves were way too short and fitted for a midget possibly. They were supposed to fix the sleeves. Im not even sure how long after the 2^nd fitting, but everytime I inquired about when I’d receive my shirts, it was «oh next week». Then I’d have to re-​inquire as to their whereabouts constantly being told «next week». I finally received a random package in the mail, opened it up, 3 shirts in there, no ties or cuff links. The shirts were the wrong color, somehow received 2 blue shirts, when 1 should have been pink, and all had different cuffs on them (french cuffs which I specified I DID NOT want), and shirts overall did not fit. Still not have heard back as to why I seemingly got someone elses shirts, or a complete gross negligence of taking my order/​fitting.
Overall, DO NOT USE THIS PLACE unless you like headaches and throwing your money down the drain, otherwise, go ahead.

I first found Prince & Baron when they had a special on Groupon. I have never heard of them at that time, so I just tried the 1 shirt + cuff links + pocket square special for my fiancée’s birthday present. We made an appointment for measurements and choosing fabric and details, and the experience was awesome!
Stephanie is very professional, very knowledgeable with great suggestions. My fiancée ended up ordering a suit as well. It took a little longer than expected to get it, but the results were great! The suit look great, fit great, exactly as he had wanted.
The whole experience was great. Get your bespoke attire from them. The workmanship is great, the customer service excellent, the price is reasonable.

I heard about Price & Baron from my dad. I am a slim guy, about 5’6. It has always been hard for me to find really nice stuff that fits well. Typically I wouldn’t put down $ 699 for a suit (or anything) but I decided to take the leap. Wow, I do not regret this one bit. Let me tell you a bit about my experience:
I showed up with an appt. scheduled at the new location on 15^th and Walnut. Their office is very professional, with different types of suits on display. To get started, we went through a cool presentation about what styles were available. Finally, we got to the good stuff. What I was looking for. I got to choose from a large selection of materials/​colors. I went with a darker grey with a cream blue silk lining. The lady was very patient and helped me make great decisions based on what I was looking for. I was there about an hour and really enjoyed the experience, it was more than just buying a suit. A few weeks later the suit was ready, I went to try it on (if any alterations need to be made those are done for no additional charge of course) however no changes were needed. The suit fits like a glove. I get compliments everywhere I go. I really just feel so great when I wear this suit. Thanks!

Buying shirts through Prince and Baron was a wonderful experience. To start, they had a great presentation at the start to help showcase the many different options, cuts and styles they offered — really great to help give you a sense of all the variety you can build into the clothes. Very nice selection of fabrics, prints and colors with tons of variety. Prince and Baron also had wonderful options for accenting certain parts of the shirts, cuffs and suits with matching and coordinated fabrics that I haven’t seen offered in other bespoke clothiers to really distinguish the shirts as high quality and personalized. The staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgable and friendly — a true pleasure to work with. The shirts came back very quickly. Looked great and fit perfectly. I’m excited for the remaining shirts to come in.

I wanted to buy my husband (the man who has everything) something nice for his bday. Thankfully I found Prince and Baron! First of all, what a great experience they provide. You go in and see a whole host of colors, prints, and designs. My husband was thrilled and we both enjoyed picking out the colors, cuts, etc. The first shirt came in last week and he wore it out the first night. There was a small issue with one of the buttons and they fixed it immediately. My only wish is they would do women’s suits! :) Thanks P & B!
