Places and Spaces has been part of my life for more than 4 years. My preschooler had been there since three months and over all, I’ve been incredibly happy there. The owner is a wonderful woman and really takes an interest in the kids. It’s a small center, which I like, and I feel like the teachers that my daughters have had have really cared about the kids. My oldest is always asking if she can stay a little longer when I go to pick her up. A relative is a school psychologist and she is constantly impressed with what my daughter is doing at daycare. She always says that the most important thing about choosing a daycare is seeing if the staff get down to play and interact with the kids. At places and spaces, they do.
There has been some staff turnover, but I think that is often the case in centers. My daughter has had the same teacher for about 2 years (the teacher has been there for more than 3, I believe) and she is wonderful! I’m going to miss her when it’s time for the Big K.
The outdoor space is wonderful — trees for shade, a small mulched playground and some blacktop for riding tricycles and bouncing balls/​playing basket ball.
Each year they go on a couple field trips (zoo, apple picking, etc.) which I also like.
If there’s an area for improvement, it would probably be more formal communications home, but I found the teachers, owner, and director are all extremely accessible and willing to talk to parents.

I actually disagree with the previous reviews. The first time I called to inquire about this daycare – I did not get an answer. However, I called right back and the owner answered the phone. She was super pleasant and very accommodating as to when I wanted to tour the center. I never got the sense that she she had anything to hide and she was very professional. I went on the tour with my 2 year old who had never been in daycare up to that point. The daycare is in a huge home. The children had lots of space to play. They also had an outdoor area for the children to play, which was really nice. They even used the back porch area for sand play. I was there for a couple of hours because after the tour – I decided to enroll. The teachers interacted with the children in such a positive way. I cannot describe just how nurturing and caring the teachers are! They have great patience and they are really teaching the children. You don’t have to worry about your child just being watched. I love the songs that they sing to them and the books that they read. My daughter’s vocabulary is growing and in just a couple of weeks – she now says «bye mom!» when I drop her off. And she doesn’t want to leave when I pick her up. I also have a daughter who goes there for after care – and she never wants to leave either! It is just a really great environment and the teachers are nothing but professional. I really encourage others to check it out for themselves and not just go by previous reviews where individuals did not get in touch with them and did not tour the school. It could have been just that day. I have called different days and at different times to check up on my daughter or to speak with the owner about something and I have always got through to speak with her or got a voicemail and she returned my call promptly.

I have called twice and left messages on their voice mail regarding on their prices and whether to make an appointment to look around the facility. I was recommended by my son’s speech therapist they do an amazing job there but I never got any call back. It’s extremely unprofessional to not return any potential clients phone calls and it’s an automatic red flag. Do not place your child here.

Director/​Owner failed to return call after leaving several messages. Unprofessional to say the least.
