This is truly a hidden gem in Northeast Philly as far as I’m concerned. Where else can you be entertained musically for free? Also, if you’re a cool kid like me you pack up your little cooler and enjoy a few brewskis while listening to a fairly good cover band. The concerts seem to target a middle aged demographic, with bands covering the stones, Eagles, heart, etc. But anyone with an appreciation for classic rock with have fun. In my opinion there’s only one thing better than drinking outside, and that’s drinking and jamming outside. And every other Wednesday night in the summer, there’s no better place to do it than here!

The Pennypack concerts are my favorite way to spend my Wednesday nights during the summer. The concerts are free. The parking is free as well and the show runs from about 7 – 9:30pm. The bands that play are usually cover bands. Playing music from the 70’s and 80’s. Sometimes I don’t recgonize the name of the band that night. But once they start playing, I realize I know most the songs! There is a stand with hot dogs($ 2), chips and things like that. There is also 2 food trucks, one being Chickies & Petes. You can bring your own chairs or a blanket and sit to enjoy the show. I like to bring a cooler with some beers as well. You can’t drink an open container there, so be sure to bring some solo cups as well. There’s a good sized crowd, but never too crowded as to where you feel like people are on top of each other. Come out this summer and enjoy some music!
