I came to Dr Rubin after seeing a doctor for a pinched nerve. I was told there is nothing you can do about a pinched nerve just had to let it heal. I am so glad I took the advice to see a chiropractor. So after suffering for weeks of pain Dr Rubin and his team had me almost pain free after just 3 visits!!! I’m not from the area but this team of professionals had me feeling like family. From the time you make the appointment till the time you walk out the door you will not be disappointed. Thank you Dr. Rubin for accomplishing what I was told impossible! I only wish I came to you sooner. You and your staff are amazing!

Very grateful to Dr. Rubin for helping me with a displaced rib which caused subsequent pinched nerve (s) and lots of knots in my back and shoulders. I was able to get in for an emergency appointment that same day. Through dedicated care from his team, I was up and running in a matter of days. In fact, I was able to compete in (and win!) an important tennis match after following his recommended home-​care regimen for 10 days. Thanks, Dr. Rubin!

I’m a new client to Dr. Rubin and I’m so impressed with him and his staff. Dr. Rubin is very kind, soft spoken and gentle. He listens which is very important and he actually thought of my getting a MRI study of my back, I’m glad he thought of that, no one else did! I feel very comfortable with him and his receptionist is very kind too. They were able to get me in on short notice which is wonderful and they accept my insurance. I am very happy that I wasn’t sore after my adjustment! To me, that is wonderful!

I just went to Dr. Rubin for the first time because my regular doctor was out for the day and I was having some issues with my back. I was very impressed with the vast number of different modalities used during one appointment. After the initial evaluation, we started with 10 minutes of stim, traction w/​stim for 5 minutes, followed by ultrasound. I was then taken into another room, which was set up with a peaceful décor and had two massage roller tables. I enjoyed the relaxation that this room and table provided. I was in there for 10 minutes and could’ve stayed in there all day.
Finally, we finished with the manual adjustments and I liked Dr. Rubin’s approach. Not naming names, but I’m not a fan of the activator (the small clicking device that seems to do nothing for me). I also liked his top of the line chiropractic table. It seemed to have all the bells and whistles to make for an easy and thorough adjustment for all body types and needs.
Also, he is very fair with pricing and if you are a cash patient or self-​pay, he will give you a discount.
I was very pleased with my experience and will be back!

I am a student from the University of the Sciences and I have been an intern here for 2 months now. Under Dr. Rubin’s wing, I have learned many things about chiropractics, natural healing of the body, and most importantly patient interaction. Dr. Rubin treats his patients with the upmost care, attentiveness, and I have never seen anyone unhappy after their pain has been treated by him.
I, too, have been treated by Dr. Rubin. My neck and back have been adjusted before (scary at first, but it is the best feeling ever), I’ve been on the traction table, and I have had my jaw adjusted as well! I developed something called temperomandibular junction (TMJ) where the joints and the muscles of my jaw can be locked, sore, stiff, cracking, and even misaligned. I’ve always lived with it thinking that there wasn’t any way of finding relief for the discomfort until Dr. Rubin helped me. He placed me on the drop table, and with a quick couple of pushes on both sides of my jaw I have never felt so much relief in my life. I will continue seeing Dr. Rubin for TMJ and I highly recommend anyone else who is experiencing any pain. He truly is an excellent physician!

I had been very skeptical about going to a chiropractor after a very bad previous experience, but when my masseuse insisted that it would help with the lower back pain I had been having for months, I thought it was worth giving it a shot.
I was so glad I did.
Dr. Rubin and his staff are friendly and professional, immediately setting me at ease. The doctor answered all of my questions, and did not seem to rush me. Best of all, after my first session all of my lower back pain was gone, and after completing the course of treatment recommended, I also discovered that the insomnia that had been plaguing me for months was also gone.
I would highly recommend Dr. Rubin for any chiropractic needs.

We were visiting Philly when we needed an emergency visit to the chiropractor. Dr. Rubin and his staff immediately welcomed us in and helped alleviate some of the pain in less than 60 minutes. We appreciated his hospitality and his expertise.

I’ve been a chiropractic assistant for over 10 years and have been worked on by a dozen chiropractors.
I’d give 5 stars, but my 1^st appointment was bad for (some) reasons beyond the doctor’s control. Dr. Rubin certainly made up for that, and during my 2^nd appointment gave me a thorough comprehensive examination and excellent treatment.
Dr. Rubin offered every imaginable kind of therapy that’s within the scope of chiropractic. Like me, he presents a bit introverted, but performs good adjustments and is a well rounded professional.
I will certainly be returning for ongoing treatment :)

I have only been to 2 chiropractors in Philly. The first gave me an appointment, poked around at my spine, said he couldn’t do much to help me, and then charged me $ 80 and told me I could either «come back next week… or not.»
Naturally, I looked for a new person. I was able to make an appt quickly with Dr. Rubin after explaining to the staff the problems I was having. On various occassions, Dr. Rubin spent more time with me than a normal appointment. He seems to generally care about the well being of his patients and doesn’t just quickly shove them out the door.
Another review mentioned that Dr. Rubin seemed apprehensive to touch her. That has never been the case in my situation. He is respectful and always told me where he was going to touch me, apply pressure, etc.
If you are looking for a chiro, I would recommend Dr. Rubin. The office location is convenient if you work in CC and they accomodate urgent appointments (which I greatly appreciate). I have seen Dr. Rubin for 2 injuries (including at the old location near Chestnut St), and I have been pleased overall with the results.

Dr. Rubin is very well-​versed at chiropractic and he makes it part of his mission to also help educate people on how to be safe with a very important part of the human anatomy… the spine. He teaches how to avoid injury or re-​injury, and he is a proponent for healthy eating.
I sustained a back injury while working in June of 2012 and Dr Rubin treated me. He regularly adjusted my back, gave me a back brace to wear on a daily basis, gave me a tens unit, which is an electronic device that stimulates the muscles and facilitates healing. He is adept at treating patients with a drug-​free program and it is fantastic. Part of the treatment was given on a horizontal massage machine, that also helps to release tension and aids in realigning the spine. His bedside manner is very professional and leaves one at ease. I am now enjoying life with a lot less pain after this treatment. I highly recommend Dr Rubin.
I should also mention that Dr Rubin’s Doctorate degree is a D.C. degree, which means that he is a Doctor of Chiropractic. I must reiterate that he is far more knowledgable in regards to human health, than many general practitioners I have visited.

I had upper back /​neck pain for so long I just kind of accepted it. Then I went to see Dr. Rubin, I figured why not, he’s right down the street from me. I couldn’t believe it, after he did his thing, the pain was gone!

Dr. Rubin seemed unsure of himself, awkward, and made me incredibly uncomfortable.
I visited his office twice after my insurance changed and my former chiropractor was no longer available. I had what turned out to be a lower back/​SI issue.
I arrived at the cramped office, which is filled w/​pictures of Dr. Rubin with celebrities and happy customers. He had only 2 Unilocal reviews, and both were positive. I was optimistic. His staff seemed nice over the phone.
After filling out the necessary paperwork, I was examined by Dr Rubin. By examined, I mean he talked to me and made me touch my toes a few times. All other chiropractors I have seen before and since have examined my spine/​core a little closer than this, but Dr. Rubin seemed nervous to touch me.
He connected me to the muscle stimulator machine. (It was my first time being connected to one of these machines.) He requested that I lay face down and pull down my pants. I lay bare-​bottomed and connected to the machine, and then he left the room and LEFT THE DOOR OPEN. (I am a 20-​something year old woman. I have never had anything like this happen.) I could see and hear other people in the office, and I should have spoken up, but I was too flabergasted and uncomfortable. He came back a minute later to see how I was, and then closed the door and left. He came back over and over to check in, but continuously swung the door wide open.
He after the Stimulator, he adjusted my back. I did experience some lower back pain relief. I will give him that. He then put me on a rolling, massage bed. (I do not know the name for this machine.) Again, he checked on me so often it was disruptive and uncomfortable.
I decided to give him one more chance, because I wasn’t sure if I was just being dramatic about having to switch doctors. When I came back, I requested no stimulater machine, because I was still uncomfortable about what had happened last visit. I wasn’t sure what to do or if my last treatment was normal. I layed on the rolling bed awhile, and then he adjusted me. Again, I felt like Dr. Rubin was unsure of what he was doing, and I didn’t feel like he was the doctor for me.
When I saw a new chiropractor, I expressed concern about using the stimulation machine. He was surprised to hear Dr. Rubin had left me bare-​bottomed on the table w/​the stimulation machine… especially with no blanket to cover me or anything. They told me this was not normal.

Seems to be doing a fine job thus far.
I went in a week ago with SERIOUS lower back issues (tweaked at work and gym) and the symtoms have aliviated a lot. I’ll have to give it some more time to see if the problem is actually vcorrected or its just beeing treated.
One of the reviews on here stated something about the condition if the office. I agree, its seen better days but its not a day spa — its a CHI-​RO-​PRAC-​TIC OFF-​ICE. You’re not getting your nails done, your hair done or a warm stone massage.
I’ve been seen on short notice and never waited, which works for my impatient ass.

What the others have said is true. I’ve had «OK» results from other chiropractors, but Dr. Rubin just has a gift for getting my troublesome back to stop hurting.
In my case, I think part of the reason for his success is that he approaches the problem using different modalities: traction, chiropractic adjustments and a tracking machine to loosen tense muscles. In addition to being skilled, Dr. Rubin is readily available. He even answered my panicky text message at 11 p.m. one evening after I had injured my knee! Wonderful person; wonderful professional. It’s a comfort to know that when I’m in pain, there’s a practitioner I can go to for relief. Thank you Dr. Rubin!

Absolutely unbelievable.
Dr. Rubin told me to lay on my back and cross my arms. He then proceeded to administer a quick, short amount of pressure to my chest. I heard something pop, and then, after 12 years of never knowing what it’s like to breathe the right way, my sinuses opened up and I could breathe through my nose!
I’ve been going back to Dr. Rubin’s every since, and each time, I walk out of the office feeling better – taller, stronger, even mentally clearer with less stress and worry distorting my reality. For now on, this is going to be part of my regiment for positive living, along with exercise, eating well and regularly schedule breathing meditations.

I work for a pro athlete who’s currently on the road for games. He was feeling very sore after his last game and asked me to find him a local chiropractor who can work on him asap.
Found Dr. Rubin’s info and gave him a call. Not only was he able to accomodate on such short notice, he went above and beyond in every aspect.
My boss asked me to save Dr. Rubin’s info for the next time he’s in town. THIS RARELY HAPPENS! Thank you Dr. Rubin!

I am feeling a great deal of relief after visiting Dr. Rubin’s practise. Both Dr. Rubin and his staff are thorough in communicating and taking their time, unlike other medical practises that quickly rush you like your in a cattle herd. This is my first Chiropractic experience over the last couple months and I’m feeling better overall with each visit. I have already reccomended to a friend.
