P & P Caterers

Attended a wedding last night was perfect. in townsend room. Spacious. Bathrooms nice & clean. Food was very good. Bar could use more liquor options to make more of a variety of drinks

I’ve been involved in functions that used P&P Caterers at the Southampton Room for 16 years. Never Have I Had A Bad Experience. Great food, tremendous menu to choose from. Always go for the Chicken in wine/​mushroom sauce. Pricing very reasonable, Better bar than most pubs. Already Planning next year’s EPC Dinner Dance

I just got home from a wedding at the Southampton Room and it was fun, but nothing over the top. It was for a lot of old people so that was perfect, but I don’t think I would want to have my reception here.
The food was pretty cold by the time they called our table to the buffet and they had wayyyy too much dessert. Again, all part of the catering game and I applaud them for their effort.
I don’t give 4 or 5 stars because of a few things that should be easy to avoid, but they still happened. First, there are like 4 main doors into the place and three of them were locked. Probably not a big deal for most parties, but a wedding full of old people in the cold couldn’t handle that extra walking (the place is rather large) when there were more readily accessible doors near the parking lot.
Secondly, and perhaps more on the ownership’s heads than the previous, were some minor but noticeable problems with the staff. Aside from the lukewarm food, the staff cleared off tables (taking coffee cups and forks) before dessert. Normally I would think this is just promptness, but it’s treason to separate an old babe from her coffee before dessert has been served.
Lastly, one of the servers made some slightly too loud and slightly too insulting jokes about the Italians there. I don’t blame the place for that, but I’m insulted when young people my age working events like this insult their clients. Wake up, kid, or you’ll have major problems making a living someday.
I would suggest Bella vista in Langhorne or the crystal tea room next to city hall before this, but those places are probably enormously expensive. I have no clue what the financials involved are, so I averaged by grade based on that. If it was super expensive for my uncle here tonight, I would be more upset with these small problems and rate it 1 – 2 stars. If it was affordable and he didn’t have to sell his house to give his baby girl a good time, it would be 4 – 5.
As such, an average 3 star review is what I feel is warranted. A nice place with nice decorations, but not the best in the area either. Hope this helps if you’re trying to plan something?

P&P catering always serves a great meal
I’ve gone to several weddings that they were the caterer for and I’ve never been disappointed
They also did my wedding and everyone raved about the food. John was our maitre d’ and if he still works there I highly suggest you request him.

Attended a wedding this weekend at the Southampton Room. The food was really good, buffet-​style with carving station with three kinds of meat. An assortment of veggies and desserts, fruits & pastas. Everything was really tasty — especially the fettucine alfredo. I usually steer clear of such a dish, but it was soooo good, I had seconds (will regret later). Was not a fan of the gravy for the roast beef, but to each their own.
Will also say that the staff was Über-​friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was very quaint & classy with good lighting & bar and dancefloor areas were well laid out. Would recommend this as a venue for a big party or wedding — probably holds about 350 max. Fun was had by all and isn’t that what it’s all about?
