Located in the Society Hill area of Philadelphia, we are a professional yet friendly tax accounting firm. Whilst we provide the more obvious services such as bookkeeping and tax preparation, we specialize in business consulting.

It is our belief that accountants have a duty of care far beyond statutory tax filings, that we should bring clarity to the financial reports and continually offer advice and guidance to improve the business model.

As experienced consultants we help organizations plan and strategize, bringing structure and focus to steer firms towards their goals. To aid development we actively seek out areas for improvement and identify new opportunities for growth.

Our approach is to become a real part of a client’s organization, working shoulder to shoulder on an ongoing basis. Communication is key, so we encourage all clients to keep us in the loop and stress that no decision is too small for our involvement, we are here to help.

Our offices are situated in Center City at 13^th & Walnut St and in the Society Hill area at 3^rd & Gaskill St, just off Head House Square.

Appointments can be made to be held at either of our city offices, a clients office or throughout the city of Philadelphia in a less formal setting (Yes, we love coffee too!).

History

Established in 2005.

Beginning as a UK partnership called Brealey + Newbury Accountants based in England, the firm grew to hold several offices throughout Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Moving to America, Steven Newbury formed Newbury + English Accountants in Center City Philadelphia in 2012 and has been applying his near 10 years of accounting and consulting experience to the US market ever since.

In 2013 we moved into the Society Hill area to relocate our office to 3^rd and Gaskill St just of Head House Square. In recent months we opened our second office in Philadelphia on 13^th & Walnut St at The Philadelphia Building.

Nearly three years on and this US practice has enjoyed great success working for businesses of all types and sizes. We pride ourselves on our customer service and taking a real interest in the success of our client’s businesses.

An Englishmen at heart, I moved to Philadelphia in 2012 to marry my beautiful wife. I sold my equal share of my UK accounting firm and spent my first year here working for a center city accounting practice. This laid the foundations to replicate my UK success by establishing my new business in Philadelphia, Newbury + English Accountants.

My 10 year career as an accountant has provided me with valuable experience working with a range of businesses of all types and sizes. This insider knowledge has facilitated a natural progression to the role of business consultant. I specialize in formulating strategies for growth, streamlining procedures, and standardizing working methods to help organizations run as efficiently and as profitably as possible. Much of the consulting work I do requires thorough analysis of financial data in order to structure a profitable business model.

I see myself first and foremost as an entrepreneur, and thoroughly enjoy helping other organizations prosper.
