If this is the right cart I’m thinking of, this is the best Halal cart in the city. The food is delicious, and the guys running the truck are super friendly. You’ll have to wait in line to get your food, which in the winter can sometimes be a drawback, but for $ 5 you’re going to get a full stomach, and decent chicken. The chicken over rice is the way to go, but the chicken gyro is very tasty as well. I’ve seen these guys eat their own food, too, so you know its legit! :) They say they make it themselves every morning… and given the wide disparity in between some of these trucks, I believe it.

Easy, fast, and cheap which is the way to be if you work downtown and you need to get stuff done on your lunch break. Their usually around my job and I always leave satisfied. For $ 4 for just a gyro you can’t beat it.

Man, I thought the lamb gyro was good. Get the chicken gyro. Or chicken over rice.

This is for the Halal Cart with Green & Yellow Signage parked on the corner of 20& Market(South East — not the Falafel Man on the NE Corner). $ 5 got me a huge rice platter with ½ chicken cubes and ½ gyro(salty but not horribly so) meat cubes, iceberg«salad» with 2 slivers of tomato and a pile of rice. «White» or «Hot» sauce(or both). INCLUDED a soda or water — not bad for $ 5!

combo salad for $ 5. consists of seasoned chicken(good) & lamb(tastes like chorizo-sausage from Argentina). hot sauce was a little hot for me, white sauce tasted good. also included was a can of soda or water. the two guys there today were pretty nice. i’m definitely making this a usual.

This is one hell of a gyro. Get it with hot sauce or else you are a loser.

My favorite cheap lunch! It’s hard to not get the full platter with rice, but that is a little heavy for lunch. Still, it’s nice to get that and drink for $ 5 because I’m full the entire afternoon. The guys are really polite(which is more than I can say for a nearby truck), and they’ll make your food any way you ask. Get the spicy sauce!

As close to a good NYC halal cart as you’ll find in Philadelphia.

So I am walking to the Fedex across the street and I see a long line(18 I counted) at a colorful food truck. Turns out it’s a new middle eastern food truck called«New York Gyro Truck». The first thing that strikes me is the absolute cleanliness of the truck. The food is simply amazing. I have had the combo sandwich and combo salad. The portions seemed a little small initially but the prices are low also. In hindsight, the portions are perfect for lunch. Do check it out!
