Monro Muffler Brake & Service

I went there to reattach a tail pipe that got damaged via a hit and run. Met with the Asian guy tommy and he was honest and upfront. Gave a very fair price and all that he asked for in return was that I come back for future business. Very cool dude.

I paid for new back brakes. Drums pads shoes everything and a week later I’m driving and I see smoke coming from my back tire… I take it back for them to tell me I have defective parts because they used some of my old stuff the wtf??? I paid for all new things so why is old stuff getting put back on my vehicle? The excuse they give they were trying to save me money. BS… They were trying to make money off of me… they had to redo it… They really tried to get over on me never again… got the car back and on my way home starts smoking againI’m frustrate…

I’ve been going to Monro for the $ 20 oil changes for awhile. The manager, Tom, is always helpful and friendly. Even without an appointment, oil changes usually take 20 – 30 minutes.

I change my review. I recently got an oil change, and shortly there after my oil started leaking. My mechanic at 11^th st said the oil filter wasn’t put in right. Sure 20 bucks for oil change, but at what cost.

THIEVES!!! And I don’t mean ‘my mechanic ripped me off’, I mean THEY CUT PARTS OFF MY CAR.
I had been coming here for awhile because the prices were decent and I enjoyed not being treated like an idiot as a woman at a mechanic. Very refreshing! I would take my car in, tell them what I needed done, and it wasn’t an interrogation that left me feeling like I shouldn’t be allowed to know what my car needs because of my anatomy.
So when my car broke down in back of pep boys I had it towed over because I don’t like the constant sales pitches of pep boys with their diagnostics and warranties and whatever else. My car sat there about a week — they didn’t find what was wrong with it — and I took a few days to decide if it was worth trying a few pricey repairs or just buying a new car. Based on my car’s age I decided to scrap and buy new.
Much to my surprise when the junker came out we discovered that my catalytic converter had been taken out. This was not done by junkies; junkies would not have stopped at just one piece and the cuts would not have been so clean. Monroe stole parts of my car, which turned out to be part of the down payment I was desperately needing for my new car, all because they were pissy about my car sitting there a few days.
I had been a loyal customer and even recommended people to them. They never said anything nasty or rude about the car sitting there, said it was ok that it sat there a few days while I figured out if I was going to have it towed back home or not. It did sit an extra two days on their lot because of my work schedule and that I couldn’t be there to have it towed away. No place will tow a car without your presence anymore. They said ok and no problem.
Sorry, but I can’t recommend a mechanic that STEALS parts off their customers’ cars!!!

I took my vehicle in for one of the online discount services that included an oil change, new air filter, tire rotation, brake inspection, among other various little services. The manager was very detailed with everything they did, was more then happy to show me what they did, and even gave me a few suggestions. I was not told I needed new brakes when I didn’t, personally. Perhaps it is a case to case situation. I have to say I had an overall pleasant visit there. The pricing was very reasonable. I can see how one might quickly become defensive or in a confrontation through a little misunderstanding if you aren’t prepared for the abrasive… but really just colorful personality of the manager. I will go here again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Horrible. I took it in for a routine oil change. They saw that I had it inspected 1 month prior, and they still tried to tell me my brakes were almost gone. I took it to a mechanic I trust and as I expected, my breaks were fine.
This business has no integrity. They tried to charge me over $ 300 for services that I 100% did not need.
