never again. Had an appointment to get my brakes looked at. Checked in, was told «you’re next». An hour later, I was still «next». Upon further questioning was told only one guy looks at brakes. «we can’t estimate how long he will take to finish…» (Why not?). Another half hour later, still waiting. Took my keys and left. At least I didn’t give them any money. Won’t be back.

I went back to this same spot this weekend… the same salesman Chip was there and helped me out. He was handling a really rude customer when I arrived and all I could think was ut oh this may be this is what the other reviews are about. The customer argued about every little thing without even letting him finish a sentence, the audacity of people these days.
But he handled the situation very well, made the rest of us there feel comfortable, and I had another good experience. Kudos!

Although this location didn’t have the best reviews, I was in a bind and stopped by. I drove to Philly without realizing that I was due for an oil change and wanted to get one before getting back on the road. I was helped quickly. After the courtesy check, the salesman Chip told me I needed new tires and breaks soon. I didn’t have enough time to do it then but since he explained everything very thoroughly, I will go here on my next trip to Philly since I come pretty often and haven’t found a shop in New York.

There was a screw in my tire of my car and when here to get a new tire. Arrived at 9:30 in the morning did not get out till 3:45. After waiting two hours I was told that they did not have the tire and that they would need to go to the warehouse in Lansdale and get the tire delivered two hours later the tire arrived they put it on and then I was done. I told them they should have better procedures and when the customer comes in the door they look at the tire size and then they asses whether they have it and give the customer a chance to decide to wait or leave. Management was unapologetically apologetic. They apologized over and over again but they didn’t offer any additional perks. I was really irritated with the guy on the front desk, who I told him my tire size, claimed that he told me that it would be a one and a half hour to two hour wait before they even looked at my car, but this was not true he did not tell me that. I will think long and hard before I return.

If you are looking for someplace to get work on your car don’t go here… The staff here at this location will not own up and take responsibility for their personal mistakes which in the end will cost you money! They simply forgot to put the lock nut key back into my glove box where they removed it from and now I’m spending $ 200 to have the locknuts replaced. Visit at your own risk… Because no one here will own up to the mistakes that they make!
I guess I should’ve saw the two stars and gone somewhere else! Silly me!

Where to begin… First, I just moved here from NY and registered my car in PA, part of which requires a PA state inspection. In February (i.e. less than 2 months ago) the car passed inspection in NY with flying colors, with a suggestion to get 2 new tires. Since I found coupons on Midas’s website for a $ 50 state inspection AND emissions test, and some cash off new tires, I decided to chance it, knowing that most chains always find «something» erroneously wrong. I foolishly thought since the car just passed an inspection, and I was already greasing their palms, that it would be OK. After going over their proposed work to be done and being told that it wouldn’t pass without new brakes and rotors (which had no problem of course) at $ 450, I told them I’d pass, knowing I’d have to pay the $ 50 fee, pass or fail. Other than that, the list included the tires and the inspection. I told them I’d take it elsewhere for an inspection (that would pass without being extorted, and no I didn’t say that), and they proceeded with putting on the tires. With the coupons for the tires and inspection, the total should have come to something less than $ 200, so I was surprised when I was told it was ~$ 350; and asked to see the receipt. Not only had they tacked on an $ 80 alignment (not on the list before, ever mentioned, or required), the «math» of the difference of what the inspection and emissions test, and a coupon for them being $ 50 together, clearly didn’t add up. After reminding them that the alignment was never on the list, discussed, let alone mentioned (and being lied to otherwise), I imagined how discussing how a $ 50 inspection/​emissions test adding up to $ 70 would go.
So I ended up taking my car to Don’s Auto Repair based on its reviews on Unilocal.Sure enough, they found nothing wrong, noticed that someone else had taken the previous inspection tag off, but it wasn’t replaced, and thus asked me if it had failed and why. I showed them Midas’s receipt and «reason», and they laughed, saying there was absolutely nothing wrong with the brakes and rotors.
Do not ever go to Midas (on Ogontz at least). These people are liars and crooks.

*I have been to this Midas before, and it has been OK. This time was a disaster. I came in for a regular servicing, and my tire light was on. The tires looked and felt fine. Temperature changes often trigger that light. .I am 74 and not too sophisticated about my car. They sold me a couple of services I am not sure I needed, to the tune of over $ 400.00. They rotated and balanced my tires. When I left, the tire light was still on. I went back in to complain. I was told to drive it 40 miles an hour for a mile and it would go off. It didn’t. Next day, one front tire was nearly flat and another was visibly low. They would not promise to take me right away if I came in. Dell, the manager I spoke to was not in any way helpful. Told me to come in tomorrow– when a 10 inch snow is predicted, leaving me stranded. Had to call AAA. Unconcerned and snotty.

I spent HOURS waiting for my car over the course of two days. It was not ready when they said it would be so I waited for 2 hours the second day after I unexpectedly left it overnight. The television is loud and playing horrible court shows all day. I watched some of the employees playing with their cell phones while I waited And while other customers waited for other services. After all of that and a $ 1,100 bill, my car stalled a block away I will not take my car here again.

If you have the unfortunate opportunity of speaking with Bill, start running! He takes unprofessional and condescending to a new level. After charging me for incompetent service that he didn’t tell me about ahead of time, he was pompous enough to wrongfully accuse me saying things that I hadn’t. He was came out of the garage with a terrible attitude and it got worse as our conversation went on.
And what do I mean by incompetent? I went in to the shop with broken turning signals. He ran a $ 98 diagnostic test to tell me that nothing was wrong with them. I drove him with my broken turn signals, $ 98 poorer…

I got a great deal on tires for Buck the Blazer. They even spread out my payment with over 8 weeks with checks. Pretty cool deal

I have used this Midas for almost a year. My first visit was to replace my catalytic converter. I shopped around. They were the cheapest. They finished the work quickly. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. I recently visited the shop for my oil change and a new belt. Fast. Done in an hour (and on a Saturday!). The mechanic showed me how to check and change the oil. He didn’t have to do that. That was nice. Plus, they even called me to remind me about my state inspection due-​date. I almost forgot about it. And, they send you coupons in the mail. They have my business.

I went here because it’s close to my house and I needed a state inspection and emissions test. The guys took good care of me, and even though I ended up needing new rear brake pads, got the work done quickly in the same afternoon. I’m not sure how competitive their pricing is — seems like I could have probably found a better deal if I had shopped around a bit. Friendly staff, clean waiting area.
