Like the others below I read about the vietnamese hoagie online and went to try it. I walked in and saw the same picture of the hoagie on a flat screen tv in the restaurant. I then asked to order one only to be told that they no longer serve it. Why would you stop serving something within months of getting internet buzz? I have no idea. This review is only as to that hoagie, since that is what I wanted, I left without trying anything else. Also, the parking lot in that plaza is insane and I recommend parking on the street if you are in a car.

Review is ONLY for the Peking Duck Banh Mi. So, similar to Mary R., I read about them( ) and just had to try them. When I walked in, the servers were about to seat«a table for one» but I assured them that I just wanted to make a to-go order. This banh mi is not on the menu at all — make sure you ask for it. Upon first glance, I was disappointed that there was barely ANY peking duck in my banh mi. I am not sure if you could even call it «peking duck»… the skin was soggy and not crispy. If I didn’t know any better, I would have guessed that it was roasted duck and not peking duck. The duck was sliced SO thin — each strip was probably 1″ x 1 mm. By the way, these babies don’t have any other cuts of meat either… They stuff it with a huge slice of cucumber, maybe to make up for the lack of filling. Overall — great idea, bad execution. Worth a try, but don’t set your expectations too high.

ok, so it’s highly likely that you’re reading this post because you saw on grub street that this place is now offering a peking duck banh mi( ). i ate it last night and it was good. not transcendent, but good. and not on the menu, so you have to ask for it! the meat was excellent, rich and fatty as duck should be. not nearly as spicy as most banh mi in the area, the mayo helped to provide some unctuousness. the bread, though, is pretty mediocre. not sure if that’s because i took mine to go and it got soggy, but with ba le next door, they should be able to up their bread game.
