This place is clean and not at all scary or dumpy, but the attitude the employees have shown is less than savory. Every interaction with the staff is like having teeth pulled. OH, and this «Facility of the Yea r» thing they like to plaster on every square inch of their website? It was given by «Mini Storag e Messenger Magazin e» for Best Conversion waaaayyyy back in 2003, so it’s time to let that one go, kids — not deserving of it anymore anyway, not by a long shot!

The place is clean and temperature controlled. I’ve had no issues with entering or exiting this place at any time. The online payment is convenient and easy. The office representative name Bryn helped me out with setting up my account and things went smooth with her help. The main thing to me is that my items are secure and safe and I might add, INSIDE. There are cameras for safety when loading and offloading and an added security feature that is good to know, is that when you get on the elevator it will ONLY take you to the floor assigned to you from your access code. Overall, a great place in my opinion. It’s clean, secure, and has hassle free access.

Clean and secure, however, your goods are not accessible ²⁴⁄₇. Also, they are very expensive, require a 10 day notice to vacate the unit and then do not provide a prorated months refund, if it’s past the 5^th of the month. So if you move out on the 6^th of the month, you still have to pay for the full month. Pretty slick business model… Look elsewhere!

I started renting a unit at Manayunk Self Storage about 4 months ago & the experience has been NOTHING BUT TERRIBLE. The facility is nice, but the customer service and care is atrocious. I have had numerous issues with my account and I have had to call 12+ times over several weeks until I finally am able to talk to someone. When I finally do, they’ve already charged me excessive late fees and locked out my unit. The manager is then argumentative and has the least bit of concern for the poor service and inconvenience.
THIS PLACE IS THE WORST!!! When considering a self-​storage center in the Manayunk /​Roxborough area, do yourself a HUGE favor and choose somewhere else.
Choosing to rent a storage unit here was an absolute mistake…

To say that the service at Manayunk Self Storage is poor would be a tremendous compliment. Dealing with this business has been the biggest headache and we, their customers, have been treated with no respect. I wish we could rate them 0 stars.
My fiancé and I had issues with our automatic payments, which we were not aware of until we received a letter in the mail that we had incurred fees for non-​payment. We literally called and left voicemails 2 — 3 times /​week that were never returned, sent emails and never received responses, but the letters kept coming. We were then charged late fees and told we would not have access to our property. They sent letters but never picked up the phone to return our calls.
I left a voicemail one morning explaining our situation asking for a manager to return my call as soon as possible. 4 hours later I called back and finally got someone on the phone. You’d think he would have listened to the message and returned my call, as I had requested? No.
Instead he was completely but rude, argumentative and unprofessional. We requested his supervisor and we were told we ‘weren’t allowed to speak with him’.
I can’t wait to have our belongings out of this place.
The location is convenient and the facility is clean, however, I would HIGHLY recommend going to the Mr. Storage facility at the other end of Main Street.
Manayunk Self Storage will cause you nothing but headaches, treat you poorly and charge you excessive fees that you never incurred.

Hey, I unfortunately have to amend the positive review I posted on 10÷30÷11. I had two climate-​controlled units at Manayunk Self-​Storage. I cleared out one unit on 10÷30÷11 and, as you can see from my review, my experience was very positive. Yesterday (11÷06÷11) I cleared out the second of my two units. Unfortunately, there was pretty extensive water damage at the back of the unit. Five of the boxes were literally falling apart from the wet and the mold. But that isn’t the worst of it for me, since I have a terrible mold allergy. The worst is that we stored the boxes that weren’t falling apart at my office, which now reeks of mold when I open the door. I have a puffy face and am getting headaches today, and it’s only the first day I’ve shared my office space with these items. Ironically, I rented a climate-​controlled unit to prevent the possibility of getting mold on the items, since my mold allergy is so bad.

Clean. Temp controlled. And right on the towpath so I usually bring my dog and take her on a nice walk.

The short story is that I lived in 4 different states in the month of August 2010 and my stuff stayed here.
Getting storage for 1 month was easy and the staff was very helpful. They have a secured entrance with unique codes, lots of parking, an elevator, and extra carts. It was usually eerily quiet in here but I went after work then at the crack of dawn on a Saturday. My Dad and the movers (Sultans of Schlep) had to deal with getting my stuff out of here but I wasn’t charged so I guess the checkout procedures are fairly simple.
Also, I really liked the bridge over the canal and the unusual views. That’s not really a reason to come here but it was a cool perk nonetheless.
