Had the shrimp. This was my first time and it was really good. Well cooked, fast service as well. I’ll be back.

Ok— I found them first on IG and the food looked so amazing. But I had been burned before so I just put them in the back of my head. Then one day — –$ 1 jumbo shrimp popped up and I was like – yeah right. Jumbo shrimp. $ 1 a piece — –Then I saw a picture. Piqued my interest, because they did in fact look big. But I still waited a couple of weeks to drag myself to West Philly. Finally my sis and I went, on a Saturday in May, got there at 2:30 pm, why, they only serve the $ 1 shrimp on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 2 pm — 7 pm. And you have to come in person, no call ins for this special. At first we drove around for about 15 minutes because we could not find it. I was almost about to throw in the towel and say forget it, then my sis said drive around this corner and lo and behold, there it was, with the man dressed in the spiderman suit waving the sign. Little store, just a grab and go store, no tables, but I wasn’t planning on staying anyway. The young lady was pleasant as I ordered my shrimp. Then she said, you must buy a side order to get the shrimp deal. Had to be a catch. So the sides are $ 2, not bad, but then my order for a dozen shrimp became 10 with the side. I got the mac and cheese with mine, my sis got fries. Waited about 15 mintues, then we were ready. I asked the young lady for a menu to keep in my car just so I could see what other food items that they cook. She told me no menus, but you can look on the wall for what we do. That’s when you lost a star — if you want business — you have to advertise, not everybody has IG. Anyway, the walls were painted red and the writing just blended into the wall, so I just got disinterested. Platter received was piping hot — they did not give us any shrimp that was just sitting under the heat lamp. ANDTHEYWEREJUMBO!!! I couldn’t wait for them to cool down so I popped one in my mouth and almost burned my tongue off. What can I say, the shrimp were obviously fresh, battered just right(not overly doughy) and crispy and just the right amount of spices. I was OVERJOYED. They were the best shrimp I had in a LONG time. By the time I got back to my home in North Philly, I was down to two shrimp. The mac and cheese was homemade, you could tell by the extra butter that collected at the bottom of the take out container. My sis liked the mac and cheese, I could pass, not cheesy enough for me. I have been back twice since the first time. They have remained consistent with the $ 1 shrimp. The last two times, I actually bought 2 dozen shrimp each time. Well worth the drive and the price can’t be beat. I haven’t even had a chance to try something else because I’m hooked on the shrimp. I have to say, finding you in IG was a find — -exceeded my expectations and you have made me a regular customer. Keep up the good work.

Okay so everyday I ride by and see the sign Mamas boy as I pass the light on Whitby Ave on my way to work and on the way home I always see the man holding the sign promotion to get a free hoagie. Well it just so happens I was late to work the other day and decided I should get my lunch now before going in. Upon entereing the tiny store I was greeted by the cashier and was drawn into the openess of the store. For a tiny hoagie shop the layout is nice and open. There is bar stool counter seating. There is also a section of the store to pay bills and get money orders. The walls are red, but not a harsh red and decorated with inspirational sayings from Langston Hughes to MC Hammer my favorite«2 Legit 2 Quit». The menu boast hoagies, as well as salads with fun names and array of choices. So for $ 5.00 bucks you can get a hoagie but for $ 8.00 bucks you get the Free Hoagie which is part of thier Free Hoagies forever campaign. I ordered the italaian style hoagie with honey mustard and a veggie hoagie with pepperjack cheese and sweet peppers. The wait was not long and I kept myself entertained by reading the walls. Soon my hogies were ready to go. I love that the hoagies were packaged in clear containers, presentation is everything instead of wrapped in that paper that takes forever to get undone and usually gets wet and messy. Once I got to work and would you know it… time for lunch. My coworker who is a veggetarian won herself the Free Hoagie and she was very satisfied. Now the Free hoagie is a small hoagie, which I am guessing is probably what you would get if you ordered the $ 5.00 hoagie still a good size for lunch if you have a small appetite. The bread was fresh and bounced in my mouth, the honey mustard added the right touoch of sweetness and the meats were delectible. Lets just say I will not simply drive pas Mama’s Boys anymore they are definitely worth dropping by. And if you were wondering my co-worker was also pretty impressed.
