A marvelous experience. I only wish I knew how to find a place like this nearer to Washington. Keith and Judy are friendly and wonderful. The red snapper was one of the best meals I have ever had.

Nice people, great food, can’t beat the prices… What more could you ask for? We had the jerk chicken, the curry chicken, and the oxtail… Served with a side of beans n rice. There was nothing left on our plates by the end of our meal. I imagine they do mostly a take out business, but there are several tables where you can sit. If you want to wash it down with a Red Stripe or other libation. bring your own as they do not sell alcoholic beverages.

Do you remember the time, when we fell in love, do you remember the time?(Michael Jackson 1992) That’s the song that was playing in my mind last night when I went to Keith’s Red Snapper last night for dinner with a few friends. Back in the 80’s &90’s, Keith’s was known for great Jamaican food and for being an iconic after hours spot. I use to go there for a plate with a big and juicy red snapper fish in a delicious sauce, with cabbage, peas n rice, plantains and festival bread. Of course I would wash it down with a ice cold red stripe beer. We would talk story until it was late into the night and then we would go upstairs to party. And it was on until the break of dawn! After a few more beers and a fat spliff, we grooved, grind, and whineded to the hypnotic beat of the funky reggae band playing upstairs that night. You would see lawyers, doctors and even cops crammed together hot & sweaty, clinging to some beauty you just met that night. Then we walked outside, shielding our crusty eyes from the morning sunlight, praying that God got us home safely. Well Keith, is the back, and he’s ready to do his magic again. The way the club was operated back then won’t work today, and Keith runs a very law abidding establishment, but I know I can still enjoy his wonderful food, but I still would like to see if I can still party like I used to. We will see one day.
