Joe-Joe’s Ice Cream & Food

Go here all the time (too much, actually) for good, inexpensive ice cream.

At the end of a long day when you just want some good standard (cheap) ice cream, go to Joe-Joe’s! $ 2.75 for two scoops in a waffle cone is a dream come true!

This was my go to ice cream shop up until tonight. The ice cream is always pretty good and it’s only a block away from my home. Unfortunately I left feeling disappointed during my last two visits. During one visit I was told I could not have whipped cream on my ice cream even after stating that I would pay extra for it. The strange thing is that the woman working there always allowed me to get it on my milkshakes… and I paid extra for it then too. Tonight my boyfriend and I ordered a shake and an ice cream cone. She gave us our total, we paid and then we waited as the girl finished making my milkshake. About a minute later she says, «oh you got a cone? I thought you just got a pint. It will be 40 more cents.» I was always under the impression that if you (the business) make a mistake, you eat the cost. It was 40 cents! I honestly did like this place but now I’m not so sure I want to spend my money there…

We go to this place all the time for ice cream cones and usually they are very good. The past two times we have gone they weren’t so good.
You are probably wondering… how can it not be good when all do is scoop the ice cream and put it on a cone. Well, yes, however there seems to be some new scopping staff there and my particular cone was half the size it had been after going here for over a year and rather than making big round scoops, I had just one wide disc type shape of ice cream on top of my cake cone.
Annoying! I had to eat the first half of it so fast just to keep it from all melting off since the scoop was thin and wide rather than big and round it just didnt work.
Also the guy that scooped my BF’s cone handled money and then used his thumb to help get the iceream off the scoop. Gross!
Where are our regular ice cream girls? :(
They seem to be really busy all the time with food orders and ice cream and they use Breyers so it tastes good, but I don’t want to have an issue everytime we come or we just won’t come back… even though it’s convenient and it’s nice to grab a cone and go for a walk…
