A white trash haven that must be a nightmare for the long term residents of Leverington Ave. Fights outside every weekend that are encouraged by the staff(‘settle it outside, guys’). Avoid this dump. The parking lot is full of rowdy, dangerous drunks.

It’s an okay place. Food is good. Don’t know the hours of operation but tried to go there for lunch this weekend and they were closed.

Stopped in for happy hour. Very large place, stage and two bars. Only one bar open at 5:00PM on a Wednesday, was there until about 7:30 and the restaurant part still looked empty. It is July and a lot of places are slow in July. Great happy hour prices, had the wings(very good), sliders(OK) and quesadilla(OK). Was surprised at how little we spent. Very nice bar maid. Bathroom looked like something out of a college bar but the rest of the place was clean. All in all a very good, friendly sports bar.

This spot is funny as hell. I lived up on Leverington this past year above Manayunk so we would stumble in this place late night after a healthy night of drinking down on Main Street. Lot of locals that are cool just kinda chill at the bar, I always try to find some older cougar to dance with. Generally well priced. Only go here if there are no other options. Made out with a couple of those cougs if you were wondering.

My boyfriend’s band played here the other day. I enjoyed this place! The bartenders were all super nice and helpful. The one nice male bartender(sorry I didn’t get his name) even helped create me a drink to my liking. The vibe was nice– the place seemed clean and spacey. The food was REALLY good for bar food!!! I got these mini cheesesteak sliders that were delicious, my boyfriend’s chicken bites with teriyaki sauce were yummy and the bite I had of my friends burger was also delicious. The menu had a lot of nice things on it, i didn’t know what to order so I hope the band plays there again so I can try more things! If I was local, I’d for sure come here more often.

The food is okay at best but the service is awful, the place is dirty and noisy and the crowd is sketchy to be polite…

I have been here numerous times since I live down the road. Always the crowd has been your stereotypical Roxborough blue collar types(think DeLeo’s). Unfortunately, they always seem to have issues with people that they do not know. I was in an altercation with a patron last night and the bouncers and bartenders/GM Brian told us to settle it out back. I don’t expect that response from a manager or the employees whatsoever. It was approximately 20 – 25 of these Cronies and only my roommate and I. Thankfully my roommate had the knowledge to tell the employees; bouncers, bartenders, GM that we were going to get killed in the back parking lot and they would be shut down for a long time. Realizing this they escorted us to the front of the bar and had us exit before we would be chased down by this crazed group of townies. Now all I have is a cut ear from visiting JD McGillicuddy’s and I definitely won’t be going back to that dump.

This place has been getting kind of a bad rap. I say kind of because they are close to being good, but just need more work. I hope they can improve their selection and service before its too late.

Best Quizzo in Philadelphia. Tom is the balls. Tuesday nights. Staff here is great. Good service. Good bar food, too. This joint is what a sports bar should be. Easy, fun, cheap.

Just don’t bother trying this place. Not one good quality I’ve found in several visits.

The other day I realized that over the last few months I have been to JD McGillicuddy’s at least 3 times(quizzo, karaōke and a birthday party), that I actually had a pretty good time while I was there, and that my original review was, therefore, inaccurate now. So– great specials, great buffalo pizza, nice bartenders, fun quizzo, more fun karaōke, an(albeit untested) all-you-can-eat Dungeoness Crab night, and close enough to my house that I could roll home if I had to(oh, the fun old days)? that’s a winning bar in my book. McGillicuddy’s will probably never be my favorite neighborhood bar(though that’s more the fault of the original building design than the service), but it has sneakily climbed my ranks to make the top 5 for places I would hang out.

In regards to their food: The nachos I had there were not so great; but when I stopped in the other night for a beer, a couple gave me a slice of their pizza and that was extremely tasty. I haven’t one of their sandwiches and that’s one thing I see them advertise for, so I’m going to shut my mouth about their food until I try a cheese steak or something. I’ve been here 4 or 5 times at this point and I will say it’s a nice break from main street manayunk. The first night I came up here, it was a welcome relief to see a good ol’ fashioned cover band with a good group of people dancing. Reminded me of a lot of the larger Irish bars in NYC. The bartenders are always slow, but if you catch them at the cash register you can usually sneak in a drink order.

This place is not bad at all. It can be very cheap during philly sports games($ 2 beers, $ 4 wings and sandwiches). I actually talked to a manager or owner on one of my visits and it sounded like they were trying to run a nice bar and gain a following. The food is about the same as the other McGillicuddy’s in Manayunk, the sandwiches maybe the best value. I have only gone on weeknights which seems to attract a local crowd during happy hour. They kept the stage from the previous place which leads me to believe they have live music on the weekends. They also have a good jukebox. It is worth checking out if you feel like a low-key night but can still have a good time.

Won’t be going back here. As I walked in around midnight on friday, the floor was still wet from where they had to clean up a girl puking right by the bar. That’s not the worst of it. I was hanging out with some friends, talking, having a good time, unwinding from a long week when the bartender approached us and asked us to stop cursing. Once we realized she was serious we decided to finish our beers and leave. One of our friends didn’t think she was serious and didn’t want to leave. As we were trying to get her to leave with us we were cursing more and were asked to leave. We were then told the cops were being called. OVERCURSING!!! There were about 6 people in the bar besides us and clearly no kids. No one had complained. It was just the bartender’s preference i guess. Not my idea of a fun adult establishment. I understand that there are places where cursing is inappropriate but a bar is not one. I go out to have a good time, not to put effort into thinking before i speak. To be fair, I didn’t try the food but I don’t plan on trying it and as far as a place to go out for a few drinks, there’s a hundred better places to spend your money within a mile.
