Hertz Rent A Car

STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!!! Hertz gave me the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Avoid at all costs!
After confirming a reservation for a car, I showed up to find out there was no car available. I then had to wait on hold for hours with incompetent, rude, and extremely unprofessional customer service agents. The company wasted 6 hours of my time and has done nothing to acknowledge or make up for it.
DO NOT EVER RENT FROM HERTZ!

Even if you book a reservation a car is not guaranteed. I booked a car from this location bc is was half the price of the ones at the airport. When my plane landed I took a cab to this location ($ 30 fare) for them to tell me they didn’t have a car & that «they left me a message» they had the nerve to suggest me to take a bus or a train to my destination or to take a cab back to the airport. They also said if I went back to the airport my rate would not be guaranteed. They had no direct number to talk to anyone at the airport location. They didn’t offer to help me look for a car, call anywhere for me, or give me a credit or anything since my only option was to take a $ 30 cab ride back to the airport. I think her name was Sandra (the manager) was useless. Worst customer service! So I got in a cab and ended up taking it all the way to my destination 1 ½hours away. I am telling everyone I know not to book hertz. The only way I’d ever rent from them is if they gave me a free rental. I intend to call corporate.

Let’s start with the positives: I’ve never had any issues with the cars. And the return process is usually effortless. That’s it.
The negatives: The staff. I’ve never experienced such poor customer service in Philly than I have here. There is a gentleman who works there who is actually very helpful and nice, but he is rarely there. The main girl who works there has an awful attitude. It often times appeared that I was inconveniencing her being there. I question why she works in customer service because she seems utterly miserable. I used to rent cars from there often for work travel, before switching to another company after getting fed up.
One day I got there a little early before they had opened. 5 minutes max, no earlier than that. I went to the front door and saw the girl, I assume she’s the manager, and she looked right at me and just went along with what she was doing and didn’t acknowledge me one bit. I actually stood there for a minute or two thinking she would come to the door to let me in or at least tell me she’s not ready yet and to come back later, which I would have understood. But she just ignored me. The place is incredibly small so I was quite surprised.
I will say I feel a bit unfair writing such a review based on one person. But the people make the business. I will never rent from this location again.

We were staying at Embassy Suites a block away and stopped by this location to pick up a rental car. On Saturday morning, there was only one girl manning the shop and the line was out the door. She was trying her best but it took her at least 20 minutes to get to us. I was not pleased and had expected faster service. This is a small location without many cars so at least we got a free one level upgrade.
