Our SNAP box program and Mobile Markets help feed underserved communities in Philadelphia. Gardening and cooking workshops every Saturday in the Spring and Fall.

History

Established in 1997.

Built on what was once a steel galvanizing factory, then a Superfund brownfield capped in concrete by the EPA. Founders Mary Seton Corboy and Tom Sereduk began Greensgrow as a hydroponic farm selling unusual baby greens to restaurants. Today Greensgrow’s mission is revitalizing livable communities through the practice of sustainable entrepreneurial urban agriculture.

Meet the Manager

Blanche C.

Manager

Employee of the year since 2006. Blanche came to the farm, homeless, jobless, down and out, with quite a few buns in the oven. She is chief mouser, bird watcher and all things IPM. Her prowess is notorious throughout Portfishington. Blanche also keeps people informed of current Greensgrow goings on via social media. You can see her hard at work on the farm, or resting on her breaks in the office.
