Just re quintessential puerto rican spot. They have everything from pernil(roast pork) to the more adventurous morsilla(blood sausage) They also have great roast chickens. Add Iin the must have alcapurrias, pastellilos, and tell enough DE papa and you’re in puerto rican food heaven. Take out only cash only, but we’ll worth it and I dare you to try and spend more than $ 30!

Great Puerto-Rican food! Now, I know I can get my fix until my mom comes to visit. Beware that there is another Freddy & Tony’s around the corner on 201 Allegheny but the name is spelled differently. I only know this because after tasting the alcappurrias here(on the way to Cousin’s), I wanted to go back and get more. We pulled out the Unilocal app which took us to the other place. We were so confused when we pulled up, haha. This is on the corner in a not so nice, neighborhood, but food is very inexpensive and delicious. We had a roasted chicken(they were out of pernil), boiled yucca, alcapurrias(4), and arroz con gandules. Everything was delicious! The rice had pork in it, too, which was a bonus. I think everything came out to under $ 30 and was plenty of food for a family of four. We have picked up take-out several times since. They are cash only, so be prepared!

I really wanted to love this place. In fact, I came here with a good attitude and a very large group. We had a group of about 20 and we were seated promptly. People looked at us like we were crazy with such a large group we took up half the restaurant. We ordered the usual Puerto Rican fare which included alcapurias — fritters filled with meat, pernil-traditional pork roast, arroz con gandules-yellow rice with pigeon peas, and much more. However, the dishes disappointed and lacked flavor in many areas. For example, the rice with pigeon peas was bland and the pigeon peas were dried out. On the fritter side, the alcapurias were dry as well and the roast pork was dry. Parking was hard to come by and the neighborhood’s rough. I did try the chicken and the is the saving dish at this location. I am a well balanced in my approach to food that entails me being a professional cook with many years experience in many types of cuisines from Latin America, Greek, Italian, and many more. I take food as the ultimate pleasure in life along with many other things. I give my reviews based on my experiences eating out at least 2 times a day and 5 – 6 days a week. I rarely give 1 stars and most restaurants get an average rating 3 stars, with some very good restaurants or places receiving 4 stars, and those that stand out receive 5 stars. Although this restaurant did not have any major sanitary issues, I do feel that it needs to be spruced up and bathrooms need attention. The server or waitresses were fantastic and were very attentive even to such a large group like ours.

This is not spelt correctly. It’s a mini version of the full restaurant on 2nd n allegheny. The alcapurrias and pastellios are ok, but dry. In Puerto Rico you have to be careful when you bite into one of these bc the juices come flowing out, here no juice just a lil bit of meat and they stopped selling the Jamaican beef patties. Why o why. The roast chicken is delish! Now that’s juicy and the pernil is awesome too.
