Fishtown Jewelers has come through for a couple of my minor jewelry needs. I’ve replaced a chain for a necklace here and also recently replaced a watch battery. For those two trips, I spent a total of $ 8 (!). Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable, and upbeat.

The people here are knowledgeable and honest. I had a watch that I thought needed a new battery. Rather than charging me for a battery, the jeweler explained that the watch was worn out. Since it was not a good watch it wasn’t worth fixing. I appreciate the honesty. They did an excellent job fixing my daughters necklace too.

I love this shop. You feel like family when you are here. The owner is honest, kind, and just a good person all around. When I need jewelry, a repair, or a battery this is the first place I think of. Thank you for always being a bright light in the neighbourhood!

I had a really great, stress-​free experience finding and buying a Christmas gift for my wife at Fishtown Jewelers. I walked in only knowing that I wanted to buy something birthstone-​related. Kathy and her staff provided exceptional service, walking me through a few options and giving much-​needed input. I never felt pressured or overwhelmed during my time there, which was nice.
The gift was perfect! I look forward to the next opportunity to shop at Fishtown Jewelers and support a great Fishtown business.

We went in here to have my fiancé sized for a wedding band earlier today. We were greeted immediately by an incredibly warm and welcoming Kathleen, who gave us her undivided attention and a lot of information on precious metals. We weren’t planning to but ended up buying a titanium band on the spot for a very fair price. A nice young man engraved it for us right then, free of charge. She even had my engagement ring steam-​cleaned for me while I was waiting on my fiancé to make a decision! It’s never been so sparkly… By far the best customer service experience I’ve ever had in philly. Kathleen was friendly and professional without being stuffy like you can run into in some jewelry shops. She can order almost anything you want too! We will be back here to purchase gifts for our wedding party. If I wasn’t using my moms wedding band, we definitely would have purchased here. Beautiful stuff, well kept very clean shop. Highly recommend this place!

Top-​notch service here as they explain everything. They did a fantastic job of re-​sizing my husband’s wedding band, which is made of platinum and has intricate décor on the outside, as well as engraving on the inside of it. Fishtown Jewelers did not cause any damage to those details, nor were they sullied in any form.
They also repaired a sterling silver bracelet watch as well as a white gold ring of mine that needed a thinner band. They did an incredibly good job of those two repairs as well. I would not hesitate going back to them for any repairs or even future purchases.

Fishtown Jewelers is amazing! After a horrible experience with another jeweler (which included the owner complaining to my husbands job when he complained about the quality of the jewelry) we went to Fishtown to have the piece of jewelry remade. Kathy and Kevin did an awesome job on the piece. It looks amazing. we also found out through them that the original piece of jewelry was stamped 14k but actually was not. Thank you for giving me an item I want to wear!!!

Love Fishtown Jewelers! I got my gorgous vintage engagement ring there. When it came time to get the wedding bands Kath made 2 custom bands that match the ring perfectly. I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out! I get compliments all the time. It’s the only place my husband will go for jewelry. I usually go down a few times a year to put aside pieces I like for that very reason :)

I went to Fishtown Jewelers on a Wednesday to drop off my wedding band & engagement ring, as well as my husband’s wedding band and a watch. My rings needed to be cleaned, buffed, and dipped in rhodium. My husband’s needed to be cleaned, buffed, and to have the brush put back on his ring because it had worn off. The watch just needed a battery.
On Wednesday, Kevin was able to replace the watch battery and give it back to me immediately. He said that he’d have the three rings ready «this time tomorrow.» That was actually faster than I expected, so I was really pleased. Fast forward to Thursday and I’m back at Fishtown Jewelers trying to pick up my rings. This time I interacted with Kathy, the owner.
Kathy was extremely outgoing and friendly. She couldn’t find my rings, and Kevin wasn’t there, so she called him and asked him where they were. It turns out that both of my rings were good to go, but my husband’s ring didn’t look the best once he brushed it with the machine he had at their store. While I was there in the store, he was elsewhere using a different machine to get the buff back on my husband’s ring! Kathy was honest with me and said that it was necessary in order to make the ring look the best, and that she’d call me as soon as Kevin got back to the store.
About an hour later I got a call from Kevin saying that my husband’s ring was ready. I didn’t want to go back out, so I picked it up today (Friday). It looks like new and I couldn’t be happier with the results of all of our pieces.
As for the price, it was completely, 100% reasonable.
I’d definitely recommend Fishtown Jewelers to anyone looking to get some work done on a piece or for someone interested in buying a gift for their woman. There’s lots of sparkly stuff in this joint, and Kathy is more than willing to help you find something perfect! You can tell she really loves her job and wants to please her clients!

Fishtown Jewelers is AWESOME! Not only do they have the most exquisite and unique jewelry but their so Friendly Accommodating and informative. I learned so much about gold and gems by just asking a few questions. Kathleen the owner, takes enormous amount of pride in her jewelry, each unique piece that is in the store, sparkles and draws your eye to it. Kathleen also goes out of her way to make sure that she can fulfill each individuals need, I loved this necklace that she had there, and it was an «evil eye» but the chain that the stone was attached to was way to short for me personally I like my necklaces longer, well this particular necklace was not a quick fix, the gem was lasered on and it was almost impossible to make the chain longer due to the design and the laser situation, however Kathleen went above and beyond to get this necklace to be longer, per my request, and it wasn’t like it was a 10K price tag, and she was making tons of commission, it was an $ 80 piece of jewelry! My original jeweler from when I was a Kid, was Leo from JF jewelers, at Kensington and Allegheny and he moved to Passyunk, about 10 years ago and my family followed him there, but rather then the drive to South Philly, we now have a jeweler down the street that is close, that is honest and that has this passion for every single piece in her store, thanks Kathleen!!!
P. S. I love how all her pieces sparkle, I feel like im in a sparkle-​land!!!

I went here recently to get help replacing two watch bands. The service was quick and easy, and she refused accept any payment in return! It was impressive to say the least! I would recommend this shop to anyone. The owners are beyond personable and are willing to take the time to get to know you. A gem, I say.

Absolutely disatisfied with the quality of service. I had my gorgeous princess cut engagement ring
sized because it was to small and after four days of it being there or wherever they had to send it i received a phone call to pick it up only to be disappointed in the outcome. For starters there was a dent of some sort in the band and it had to be smoothed out so after it was smoothed out the band was completely uneven. I was not obligated to pay at the time of service however i asked that they please solve this issue. They said they would however they improved the band only by making it completely thin and uneven. Completly disatisfied all together. Im taking it to the original jeweler for repairs.

The only place I shop for jewelry (which is not often). Bought my wifes engagement ring here (which appraised much higher than what I paid) and both our wedding bans here. Local folk who actually care about their customers. Honest as well. A+++

My fiancé visited Fishtown Jewelers to purchase rings for our upcoming wedding. We were very pressed for time and on a budget. Kathy was incredibly accommodating of our situation and even offered to stay open later if we couldn’t get there before closing after the workday.
The first time we visited, I didn’t spot anything I either liked or that we could afford. On our second visit, Fishtown Jewelers bought some gold from me and helped me select three ring possibilities. The next day, we returned and finally picked my ring, a 1920’s estate piece, which fit perfectly. They allowed us to use our cash from the gold sale towards the ring and pick it up a few days later when we had the full amount in cash (you must pay the tax with credit card; don’t need to with cash).
On each visit, we were able to spend as much time as we needed to find just the right selection. We were never rushed or pushed into a piece beyond our budget (although there were some friendly sales tactics going on).
My only caveat is the store reeks of cigarette smoke. I came to not care about it on subsequent visits but found it really distracting on the first visit.
When looking for some fine jewelry in the Fishtown/​Kensington-​area or beyond, come support this great, small local business. I loved the personalized attention and sense of humor of the owner and now I love my shiny ring!
