Express Shuttle

Good service. Got a private shuttle from the airport and therefore did not have to wait for all the west philly kids to get dropped off before going to center city

This company appears to no longer be in business. I made a reservation online through
and had paid in advance. Luckily I was able to get a refund through shuttlefare. I called the dispatch number the night before to confirm my reservation and it was an answering machine. I ended up using Lady Liberty instead.

Don’t think about using.
Van NEVER showed up.
Caused me lots of stress and $ as I had to take a taxi.
You have been warned.
Again not reliable. This is NOT the super shuttle that operates in cities like NY

I made a reservation on their website a week before my trip and received what I thought was a confirmation email. I called the day before my trip to confirm and they had no record of the reservation and could not fit me into their schedule. After asking her to explain why I had an email confirmation, she said she had another customer to help and hung up on me. I spent the next hour finding another shuttle company to pick me up. I am so glad I called to confirm. Otherwise I’d have been frantically calling a cab at 4:30 in the morning.

I recently was staying in Philadelphia, and pre-​paid my round trip ride to/​from the airport.
I was called the night before my departure from the hotel, and the dispatcher didn’t even know my flight info. or departure time (which I had included on the online form). That was the least of my worries. We confirmed a 9AM pickup at the hotel (the online booking indicated a pickup window of 8:45AM-9:00AM). At 9:15AM, I called the dispatcher, and she indicated a van was «on the way». At 9:35AM, I gave up hope, and hopped on a competitor’s shuttle, fearing that I would miss my flight. At 9:41AM, I got a call from dispatch telling me that the van was at the hotel. I explained my situation, and was going to request a partial refund, but I heard her tell the driver «he’s not there», and then she disconnected me. Caveat emptor!

I was so impressed with the how quickly they arrived and the effort
in getting us to the hotel and how they told about the sights on the
way…They really want to please their customers

Called them only to find out i did not have a reservation «even though they sent me a confirmation email». On top of that they told me that they did not pick up customers that late anyways when i called. so much for the 24 hour service they bolster on their website. Avoid at all cost do your self a favor

Avoid at all costs. Scam artists. Not worth the $ 1 dollar saving versus their competitors. They ALWAYS claim they will pick you up in 10 – 15 min when they actually have no clue when the shuttle will get to you. They wait until the shuttle is completely full before the shuttle moves, so you actually wait 35 – 45 minutes on average for them but they will happily lie and say «only 10 minutes»

I’ve used Express shuttle several times to pick me up from my apartment, and several more time to pick me up from the airport. They were never more than 15 minutes late picking me up from my apartment, which I consider good for this type of service. They only charge $ 9 to/​from University City and the airport, which is a great deal.
However, that’s where the good ends. We once waited over 45 minutes for them to arrive to pick us up at the airport (we had even called a couple days ahead of time to let them know when we were arriving). When the shuttle finally got to the airport, we waited inside the shuttle while the very sketchy driver waited inside the airport to see if there was anyone else that would show up that wanted to use their shuttle to get home from the airport. After waiting for over 20 minutes inside the shuttle, with no sign of the driver, we got out and caught a taxi. Many of the drivers are also terrible. They speed, drive while both talking on the phone and writing, honk at pedestrians who have the walk signal, swerve in and out of traffic etc. I’m also not sure why they even allow you to make reservations online, because whenever I’ve tried I’ve never gotten a call back saying when they would pick me up. I’ve also had them say that they couldn’t pick me up when I try to make a reservation, but this isn’t a huge deal.
Overall it’s a good price, but the service they provide is very hit and miss.

I can’t give their service an actual review, because I’ve never been able to use them. I’ve tried to make a reservation with them on 3 separate occasions (from Philadelphia to PHL), each time calling or e-​mailing 5 – 7 days before my flight. Each time, they’ve told me they could not accommodate me.
Not sure what it takes to actually have them pick you up, but I can’t think too highly of such an unreliable company.
Two stars for at least letting me know they don’t want my business.

Waited almost an hour at the airport and called in a few times to get the «only 5 more minutes» spiel. It’s a great rate at $ 9 but I missed 2 trains in the time I spent waiting. Shared shuttles should take longer but not this long! At least the guy who answered the phone was nice. Next time, I’ll take the train or a cab or maybe just another shuttle company.

The website probably won’t work and when you call they’re going to put you on hold a lot of times. They’re going to ask you all of the same questions over and over a lot of times. But they’re really reasonable for the price and friendly and they show up on time. Give yourself a 15 minute buffer as one of the times we stopped to pick up other parties that were not ready and put us a little bit behind. This was the fault of other passengers, not the fault of the driver or the company. If you have a very early flight make the reservation a week in advance, otherwise they may not be able to help you; they fill up fast.

Made a reservation online and they conveniently «lost it» — stuck with no transport to the airport. Do not use these guys.

No complaints. Called to get a quote. They got there early for pickup at Penns Landing, charge was cash and same as quoted. Friendly driver, no BS. Satisfactory service and most affordable option. We’re a family of 6 and filled up the van. Child was free.

Prompt and not expensive. These guys are great and best price $ 9 to city center as of this date.
I decided to give them a try after reading negative reviews about Lady Liberty which was my hotel (Sheraton Society hill) preferred shuttle and I’m glad I did.
From airport just ask for Express Airport Shuttle at the Ground Transportation desk and when leaving just call them to reserve. I actually called super last minute and they were already in the area heading to the airport and picked me and a coworker up, how flexible!
Customer service was very friendly on the phone and my journey back the driver was ever so nice.
It is a shuttle so expect to take longer than a cab to drop off /​pick up other passengers. Definitely recommend them if you want to save on a cab or have large group ;)

What a waste of time!!! I tried calling Express Shuttle to get a ride to the airport to be put on hold not once, not twice, but 8 times for a total of 17 minutes on hold, where the operator asked me my address and flight time each time she got back on the phone. On the 6^th time, she told me she had a shuttle for me for pick up at 5pm for my 7 pm flight, but proceeded to put me on hold again and again, to then tell me that that shuttle would not be available on the 8^th time, and that I had to go on a shuttle at 3 PM if I wanted a ride. What the heck? Horrible crappy service

I called to make reservation with Express Shuttle, discussed an appropriate time for pick up with the dispatcher, and booked the time. On the day of the reservation, after two phone calls to the company, I was told the shuttle would be 20 minutes late due to traffic. Not only was the shuttle late, the dispatcher informed me if was my fault for not accounting for traffic from their location to my address. Sorry, Express Shuttle, it is not my responsibility to let your driver know when to leave for an airport pick up. I had to take a cab.

Honestly the BEST shuttle service to the airport I cannot get over how great they are. Always available 24/​7, the cheapest prices ($ 9 airport to university and center city), and kind! I used to take Lady Liberty, but with them you need to work around their schedule (I often ended up at the airport an hour earlier than I needed to be.), they don’t wait for you for even for a minute, and they are rude! With Airport Express Shuttle, the owner often is the one picking me up, he’s kind, their rates are cheaper, and they are always on time.
Also something to note– when you are getting picked up from the airport, the shuttle leaves around every 10 – 15 minutes so you’re out of the airport and on your way quickly (with lady liberty, you have to wait until the entire shuttle fills up with people… which takes forever). Also, unlike lady liberty, they welcome your calls to let them know when your flight is arriving so that they can be ready for you. You do still have to call at ground transportation when you ride.
I wish more people knew about this small company because I am often the only one on the shuttles (which honestly is kind of convenient… private rides for cheap!) but I want this business to succeed!

I’ve used this service twice, both times after the other shuttle companies told me they didn’t have any availability (which always happens after I tell them it’s just one person being picked up…).
Anyways, the first time I would give them 3 stars. Making the reservation was a pain because the lady asked me the same info questions about four different times. The driver was there on time but then didn’t know how to get on the highway (I was in South Philly, and it’s literally 4 blocks from the highway). After driving around on sideroads for 12 minutes, I basically showed him where to go on my phone. But still, I got there close to on time and it was $ 11, I can handle those issues.
It could have been worse…
Then there was the second time. I called on Saturday, made the reservation and they said they would pick me up Sunday morning at 7AM since my flight was at 845AM. By 715 there was still no sign of them, so I called and the guy says he is running late and will be there by 745AM… which is pretty ridiculous. He obviously had my number so I don’t know why they wouldn’t call so I could 1. Sleep more and 2. figure out another way. Since I didn’t want to miss my flight, I ended up calling a cab (which arrived in 25 seconds).
So yeah… use caution?

Anyone thinking of taking an airport shuttle service should take Express Shuttle. I’ve used them multiple times and have had great service, and they are infinitely better than their competitor, Lady Liberty.
1) Less people know about Express Shuttle (I’m the first to review them on Unilocal!), it means less people to share the van with. Most of the time I’ve taken them, I was the only person — so it’s like a private taxi!
2) They have a policy to pick you up at the airport within 10 minutes. Lady Liberty has taken over and HOUR to pick me up!
3) Since they are smaller, if you are a regular flyer, the drivers are more familiar with you and can find your address easily. The drivers are SO much nicer too! Lady Liberty has very unprofessional service.
4) Express costs $ 9; $ 1 cheaper than Lady Liberty.
Of course, I could be selfish and keep this all to myself so that I don’t have to share the van as much, but I love these guys so much and hate Lady Liberty so much that I feel obligated to give Express Shuttle as much business as possible! EVERYONE TAKE EXPRESS SHUTTLE!
