Without a doubt, the best entertainment company on the East Coast. We’ve hosted two large events, both with 180+ people, and have used LA Starz and Dreamtime as our bands. You will NOT find better bands around. They are professional, talented, friendly, talented, will work within your budget, talented, etc. We’ve used their DJ’s on numerous occasions as well and they have never disappointed. The only negative? We paid for almost 150 meals that no one ate as our guests danced ALL NIGHT LONG! Your guests will never remember what they ate at your event, but they will always remember the music. Invest in EBE and you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing!!! We hired Rio for our wedding band and they simply made the wedding. We could have just had Rio in our backyard and it would have still been the best wedding ever! Everyone was so pleased with this band. Jonathan, the band leader, runs the show and knows his stuff. He feels out the crowd during the wedding to make sure everyone is having a great time. If you enjoy dancing and want your wedding to be a party for all ages, book Rio! I heard Paris and Barcelona are also great. Honestly, you can’t really go wrong with EBE. It is worth the money. My advice if you are on a budget– cut something else out, spend the extra money and book a band!

Our MC was Mike Noble for our wedding in May. He was AWESOME! The whole EBE experience was so professional and seamless. Mike checked in a few times before the big day to put me at ease as the bride. On the wedding day, we were running behind with pictures and rushing to get to the reception. When we got there, Mike was very calm, told us to have a snack and relax and whenever we are ready, he would announce us. His direction really set the tone for the whole night. He checked in a few times throughout the night with my husband and I just to make sure everything was how we wanted it to be. He played the perfect mix of songs and by 10pm when our wedding ended, we still had about 70 people on the dance floor wanting to hear more! No one wanted the night to end because he made it so much fun!

Rio was the BEST. All our wedding guests went on and on about how great they were! Totally made our special day. They took requests and learned a new song 2 days before!!! They kept the flow of the night perfect. Highly recommend.

EBE Events & Entertainment was the perfect vendor for our wedding. All planning was handled smoothly and professionally. From meeting Matt at their awesome head location (with fabulous décor) to the communication via phone and email, their team was on the ball.
Matt made sure he had the pronunciation of each wedding party member’s name correctly. Even when things were switched up slightly towards the end, we never lost confidence that EBE would satisfy all our expectations. And we were definitely pleased with the experience. The music selections were perfect, the interactions with our guests was awesome as well.

I’m currently planning my wedding and had a bad experience with Jonathan. I started putting feelers out for a band a little over a year and half before my wedding date. Jonathan emailed me about going to a showcase, but unfortunately the dates did not work for my fiancé. I put planning on the back burner for a bit and told Jonathan that, but consistently received emails and calls from him asking if I was still looking for a band. When I started my search again, about 14 months away from my date at this point, Jonathan emailed me dates of showcases which didn’t work for my fiancé and I, and then repeatedly pressured me by telling me that bands were already being booked for dates well in advance of mine. He literally emailed me multiple times a week. Finally a showcase date worked us, I confirmed the date with Jonathan about 2 weeks before. The week of, he emailed me to see if we were still coming and asked for my fiances information. I emailed him back, confirmed again that we were coming, sent fiances info. Two days later he called me while I was at work and emailed me (again) to in his words, «double confirm». I ended up not choosing EBE, in large part to my interactions with Jonathan. It was SUCH a turn off to feel like I was being hounded about it.

I attended a company party at Winterthur and EBE was the entertainment. For cocktail hour — the first song I heard when we arrived through the doors was a brass instrumental of Nikki Minaj «Starships».
I then went to the ladies room to freshen up and met one of the 5 vocalists (FIVE! 2 guys, 3 gals) who was super-​sweet.
They played softer music during cocktails and louder pop and a few oldies during the party.
The also played «Happy» by Pharell 3 times. (That was a bit much.) They also played «Starships» again with vocals.
Very good bassist (in the back corner) and brass.

I hired EBE for my son’s Bar Mitzvah, and it was a huge success!!! Josh Smilk (MC Josh) worked with us on all the details, was very patient and good-​natured, and made us feel that everything would be taken care of – and it was! He had both the kids AND the adults dancing all night long. I highly recommend EBE — it’s a very well-​run, professional organization. They really know what they’re doing.

I used EBE for our family event and I was really thrilled with their amazing level of service. From the piano player at the cocktail hour, to our amazing MC Josh and the DJ everyone made this event fun and fantastic for our guests. The kids had an incredible time on the dance floor with their dancers and watching them was almost as fun. Also the adults didn’t find the music too overbearing or annoying, and they played a mix of today’s music for the kids and yesterday’s for the adults — ever aware of pace and mood of the room and fitting it to a tee.
Their photo booth service is a fantastic add on too. The ladies running the booth never questioned you if you needed 9 copies of a picture with frames. They gladly provided not only some incredible photos and memories but a level of professionalism that was admirable. So friendly and easy going that it reflects in the finished product.
All told every bit of the party’s success has a lot to do with who you choose as a DJ. If you’re in the market for one call EBE and you will not be sorry. Their attention to details made all the difference and in the end we walked away having had a wonderful time thanks to this company.

John Gaurrancino and Jim from EBE were the DJs for our wedding. John played emcee, while Jim mixed the music. John has amazing, infectious energy that kept people on the dance floor but never felt overbearing. The choices of songs, the pacing, and the transitions between the songs were all perfect. They played songs we requested, and many songs we didn’t request but loved. Everyone — even the friends and family who had sworn they wouldn’t dance — ended up on the floor having a great time, and person after person came up to say how great the music was. This was the first time either of us have seen our parents fast dancing! And one of our cousins said the same thing about her parents!
The whole process of working with John and EBE was flawless. They are professional, responsive, reliable, pleasant, and just great to work with.

BARCELONA! BARCELONA!
Our wedding was over a week ago and I literally just got a text saying «I cannot stop thinking about how fun your wedding was and how amazing the band was». Berdie was a pleasure to work with-​when we walked into our room to take a look before all of the guests came in and to say hi to the band I felt like I was chatting with my good friend. The quality of the band/​singers and the wide range of songs was amazing.
The initial process of selecting the band from the showcase-​what a great idea-​and then during contract talks was easy and stress free. The communication between EBE and also between us and Barcelona was always on point and always with a quick reply. Simply wonderful.
Thank you Berdie and Barcelona for making our day spectacular.

We used EBE for our wedding entertainment and couldn’t have been happier! We had Matt Ostroff as our DJ and he nailed it!
Our wedding was relatively small, 92 guests, and consisted of a lot of people who don’t usually dance. He let us create a «no-​play» list to eliminate some tunes we didn’t want, and worked with us on the pronunciations of our wedding party, which were French and a little tricky when rolling off a native English speaker’s tongue. Furthermore, Matt had my dad, my mom, and even the older guests on the dance floor all night long and it really created a lot of fantastic memories that we’ll have forever.
Speaking of memories, we also used EBE for our videographer. The videographer put a mini mic on my husband during the ceremony at the Cathedral and it caught everything! He was able to capture the most important parts of the receptions without a hitch, and I think in retrospect that having a DVD from the wedding will be one of the wisest investments we made. During our wedding day, everything kind of went so fast that we forgot some things. Watching the DVD brings it all back, which is so nice to see :-)

We hired EBE for our wedding reception (DJ) and ceremony (Piano/​Violin)
DJ: DJ Mike Noble was excellent. From our initial consultation to the day of the wedding. He was professional and friendly. He listened to us but at the same time gave us his honest input based upon his experiences. (glad we took his advice when it came to certain songs that would/​would not keep the crowd dancing). EBE did a great job with the uplighting (we had a small venue, the lighting balanced the dimension of the room). Mike was able to keep the crown dancing non-​stop. At the same time, he was not annoying/​overpowering like some DJ’s can be. Mike played all the songs that we requested. (and he didn’t play any of the songs that we did not want… no Chicken Dance, Hokey Pokey or the Macarena… thank goodness). Mike had great transition from song-​to-​song.
Piano /​Violin: EBE had contracted Jim Holton
for our pianist. In the beginning, we had some lack of communication problems with Jim but they were resolved. Jim was excellent, our ceremony music was beautiful. Our violinist was international performing artist virtuoso Diane Monroe, she was excellent as well.
We would hire EBE again. Thanks for a memorable music experience for our wedding!

Ben was the dj for our wedding two weeks ago, and he was awesome! He was extremely professional and organized, yet fun at the same time. He stuck to the timeline we had laid out together, and was able to include most if not all of our song requests. He really seemed to know how to read the crowd and keep everyone up on the dance floor. The night had a fun, party-​like atmosphere which is exactly what we wanted! Everyone had a great time and we have had many compliments from our guests in regards to the music and the overall feel of the evening. Leading up to the wedding, the whole EBE organization was wonderful as well. Everyone I dealt with was accomodating, easy to get in touch with, polite, extremely efficient and professional. Thank you to Ben and EBE for making our wedding so special!!!

Amanda and Ryan were our DJs and they were out of this world! They were both really cool to deal with — Amanda really helped make sure everyone was organized and where they needed to be. She communicated with my husband and I every time it was time for each thing (eg: father-​daughter dance, entrances, hora, etc). Ryan played the perfect mix of music that pleased all of our guests of all ages. We had a non-​stop dance party. EBE also did our uplighting and it looked great.

Rio truly kept the party going ALL night. Our guests commented repeatedly on how great the band was and the dance floor was packed the entire night – even my husband’s 87-​year old aunt and uncle (who are usually very reserved) were getting down! Jonathan was great to work with – very flexible and accommodating. We couldn’t have been happier! Book them now if you’re getting married!!!

My wife and I got married in May and had Rio of EBE as our band. They were the best band I have ever seen at a wedding. They had the entire crowd dancing from the moment we were introduced right to the final song (which was Baba O’Reilly; sounded like a rock concert and was awesome). They also covered our wedding song perfectly (Pearl Jam’s Just Breathe; possibly why they ended the night with Baba O’Reilly since Pearl Jam often does that at there concerts). I can’t say enough about how great Rio was other then to say experience them for yourself if you are booking an event. Go to one of their showcases, they are located right on Delaware Ave, in Fishtown.

EBE Events & Entertainment is in my opinion the number one event organization in Philadelphia.
I’ve been to weddings that have contracted bands from EBE and they were excellent. I’m not a huge «wedding band/​singer» fan, but when contracted through EBE I’ve always been impressed.
I contracted EBE for my wedding DJ. I spent slightly more money to hire Matt Ostroff, and I could not have been happier. Matt took time to take notes during our initial meetings to make sure he knew what we were looking for. The day of our wedding he reviewed his notes with us, just to double check, and we had an excellent night because of Matt. Everyone danced the entire time, it was so much fun!
Family and friends have been complimenting the DJ ever since. Matt was definitely worth the extra money, and in all fairness the cost was still extremely reasonable. I highly recommend EBE, not just from my own wedding, but from having been to other weddings they’ve done and enjoyed myself at every one.
