The woman answering the phone was rude and unhelpful. My daughter needed a lock put in her gate and they were not helpful at all.

Excellent service. Showed up promptly. Vlad was able to pick a ‘level 2′ lock in 5 munutes. Paid $ 113 total including tax– the lady quoted $ 25 for the visit and $ 35 base level, which ended up being $ 80 since the lock was more complicated. I’d say this was fair since he was up front about it. Not in a position to bargain hunt at that time– but didn’t feel ripped off either.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I own a business in Philadelphia and was locked out before opening last Monday. I authorized my manager to handle the situation and was shocked when I received the invoice for $ 550. The entire door only cost me $ 489. A woman claimed to be the manager when I called and I just found out from another person in the company that she is not a manager and was protecting the serviceman. I am so frustrated and I can’t seem to speak to anyone with authority. This place is about as sketchy as you can get. I wish I had read these other Unilocal reviews before contacting David’s Locksmith in the first place.

Please, please do yourself a favor and don’t use this company. They charged me approximately 3x the estimated price they provided for a car lockout. The locksmith provided a completely illegitimate reason for the price increase. When I contacted the company to try to resolve this, I was repeatedly promised a call back from the owner, Mark, which never happened. I spoke with Jessica, who claimed to be a supervisor but (according to another employee) is not. I also spoke with Shay, who was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Unless you want to be scammed, PLEASE do yourself a favor and don’t patronize this company. If you need car lockout service/​a reputable locksmith, call AAA (even if you’re not a member, they can refer you) or the number on the back of your credit card (they can also refer you to a reputable company).
Edit: I attempted to resolve my concerns with the Better Business Bureau and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office, but the business did not respond to either complaint (further proof, in my mind, that this business is not legitimate). As of this writing, the business has an «F» rating from the BBB.

They came through. After a long Sunday night of calling several locksmiths in the are, who either layout didn’t show up or re unable to get a locksmith out to the location, Total Security answered there phone at 10 pm, said they’d be on site in 30 minutes, technician called from his cellphone to say he was enroute and within an hour the lock was opened, replaced, everyone was back in the house and sound asleep. It doesn’t get much better than than. I just wish I’d called them first instead of wasting the previous 3.5 hours.

Well, I did get my door unlocked and it only took a couple of hours (I guess since it was a Sunday). So that’s good-​ish. Also, the guy David was very professional and efficient.
But $ 185 when everyone else was quoting me $ 50? I was completely stunned. I’ve never had to use a locksmith before and hope to never do so again. It would be cheaper to kick the door in and buy a new lock. Way, way cheaper.

Incredibly rude. I just called there with a question about a problem I’m having and wanted to see if it was work they could do, or if not, if they could point me toward the right person.
Rather then let me finish my sentence, the woman hung up on me mid-​sentence. (And for the record, I wasn’t rambling, I had been on the phone less than one minute.) I called back, thinking that we must have had a dropped call, and as soon as she heard my voice, she said, «We don’t want to help you,» and hung up on me again.
For the record: They hung up on a potential customer TWICE in the span of two minutes.
So, if you’re looking for a place that will treat you like garbage, this is probably a great place to start. Personally, I’ll be looking elsewhere.

Brilliant me somehow lost my only key to my car. I don’t know how, but poof, just like that: gone!
I called David’s and they advised that they could someone over in the next couple hours, and that it wouldn’t be too long. (This was 9 a.m.) Sometime later, I get a call from the tech advising me that he’d be there around noon. Not ideal, but livable. I called about 12:30; was told that it would be another hour. He calls at 1:30 saying he was on his way and he arrived at 2pm. The work was great! He made me a new wondrous key and the price although steep was fair (stupid computerized car keys!)
I just wished they had told me how long it would take for someone to get to me upfront so that I could have had the option of calling around and checking times. I imagine that had it been an emergency they would have sent someone faster (or at least I hope that.)

i called at 11:40 on a monday and had a new lock installed by 1pm same day!
the lady who answered the phone was polite and let me know someone would be on their way out soon. within 10 minutes i was contacted by the service person who would be coming to confirm my address. He let me know he would be there in the next 25 minutes. and he was right on time!
the work was efficient and clean and he gave me a great price.
I highly recommend David’s!
