I specialize in teaching a strong foundation for beginning students and developing the skills and technique in more advanced players. Students of all ages and interests are encouraged to learn how to play the guitar.

History

Established in 1995.

David has been teaching guitar since the early 90’s. In 1995 he formally opened his teaching studio Guitar Point located in Ocean Grove New Jersey.

David maintains the original studio along with his Philadelphia location.

David Cohen is an award winning, multi-​instrumentalist, composer of music for the classical & flamenco guitar, recording artist and educator. Along with the guitar, David has studied the Turkish Oud, Chinese Pipa and the highland bagpipes and is a member of the the Pipes & Drums of the Jersey Shore.

David’s lengthy study and performance of music from around the world on traditional instruments has given him a unique disciplined blend of techniques and styles to draw upon that have become the base of study.

While the emphasis is on classical technique students also learn blues, rock, jazz, flamenco guitar, world music, along with reading, writing, improvisation and aural training as part of the core curriculum.

David’s teaching experience has spanned over 25 years. Lessons are individualized for each student. All ages and levels encouraged.
