Comcast Service Center

Oh my. Where do I begin? I think the first thing anyone would notice when coming to this hell hole is that it’s nowhere near as nice a building as the Comcast Center in center city. I think that does he volumes for the company. This is one of the sketchiest buildings I’ve set foot inside in philly.
I’ve been here three times. Twice to drop off equipment and once to change the account info for my apt. With the exception of the last time, I stood in a very slow moving line for about 40 minutes. Unreal! After I’ve returned my equipment, months later I got a letter that said I would be charged for not returning it. What?
The customer service here leaves much to be desired. Although I can’t imagine I would be too thrilled working there either.

Currently experiencing an absolute debacle with these people. Before I get to that though, here’s a shoutout to one xfinity sales rep who’s been doing his best to help me; «M», you have been my silver living. If it weren’t for him, this would easily have been a 1 star. That said, it’s extremely unfortunate that my building only uses Comcast, or else I’d be knocking on Verizon’s door and begging them to take me in. Or AT&T. I’ll go primitive AOL dial-​up-​style if it means good, competent customer service. My complaints are flat-​out an embarrassment on their part, because as customers, we should be able to expect the most fundamental things; I’m talking basic, baseline, average, minimum, par. Let me count the ways. (1) They’ll call to confirm an appointment on the day of the appointment. That’s nice… But not when they decide not to come at all. I literally got no phone call, no email, and absolutely zero indication that they wouldn’t be able to come. In short, they stood me up. (2) Naturally, I called them and spoke to a rep to find out what the deal was. He said he’ll send someone else over. Nice… If that actually happened! (3) I’m pretty fed up after waiting, so I called again and spoke to another rep, who informs me I’ve been rescheduled to a day/​time that I had never agreed to. No one even called to ask if I wanted to reschedule in the first place. So I’m guessing what the company does is assume what date/​time is good for their customers and hope for the best. (4) After a lot of back-​and-​forth, there were many promises made: I’ll call my supervisor, I’ll get this to work for you right away, I’ll call you back, blah blah blah. In their language, it means, no call backs and no updates on the situation. I’ve been at this for a good 3 – 4 hours. I can almost hear my friends asking me, «What are you doing with this loser? He’s playing you!» Yes. Sadly, I’ve been played by Comcast, head honcho of all players. For those of you who have the freedom to choose, stay away. Far away. For those of you who lack that freedom, Godspeed comrades.

WOW, why are there so many options for the Comcast service center on Unilocal?is that so there is a chance they’ll get a good review at one of them?
I went online to take a look at my prior bills because my current bill looks off (the one I got an SMS about earlier today). Of course, they weren’t available online, so I called and spoke to someone abroad who apologized, but said they were having issues, I asked if she could email me my last 3 bills — she couldn’t, but suggested I check back tomorrow, then asked for my email address. Seriously? if you can’t email my bills to me, why ask for my email address (that you already have anyway) and what would happen if you had an actual billing question?
I’m sorry, incompetence and failed systems at Comcast just continue to frustrate me — not sure how much more I can take?

When you have an alternative, try to avoid Comcast. Worst customer service ever in general. They did a service shutdown before the requested date, after enabling the service, they forgot about the fact that we do not need the service, despite the fact that we mentioned. Hell.

Convenient location, easy parking and quick service. I dropped off my equipment here after moving to a new home and it couldn’t have been easier. Went on a Saturday, no line and friendly employees.

When we started service years ago, this was the site where we came to get our cable box replaced — at that time, the lines were long and the comcast workers were behind a thick plexiglass looking barrier. It was inefficient and there was plenty of drama available for all people standing in line to see because the only way you could communicate across the barrier was by yelling.
Fast forward a couple years and this place had undergone a serious renovation and revamping. That barrier plexiglass wall has come down and now that have 2 separate lines, one for payments at a self-​automated kiosk, and the other for everything else, and now things are actually more efficient. Plus the fact that people aren’t yelling through the glass keeps the overall place more calm and conversations more private.
Although we left comcast for now, knowing this place has improved so significantly makes me feel more comfortable that if we had to come back to comcast, we would at least be using this service location.

I am giving Comcast a favor by giving them the one star they are working for!
Before expressing my experience I would like to say that the internet speeds are «good», of course when its not raining or snowing.
If you are gonna make a contract with them check online first.

When I called they where trying to sell me a 150mbs internet with 200+ channels, even though I told them its for a one person apartment and that I do not watch much tv. I had to tell them that in the internet I saw cheaper ones and he was trying to convince me that in order to watch Netflix I needed more than 150mbs, when 10mbs is more than enough.
After one day with the service I decided to cancel the tv since I thought internet streaming was the thing I used the most. So I called them and they told me I was going to pay $ 70 for the same internet instead of what appears in the offer of $ 50. I was already paying $ 90 for tv plus internet! So I asked them why they cant give me the $ 50 offer as its seen in the internet and they told me I am an old customer, even though Ive been with them for only ONE day! So now I have to go to the office to resolve this issue, after talking with three different technicians through the telephone.

I have comcast in PA and thay are expensive and coworse you into spending more money then you need to. The service goes down more often then you would think for a big conglamorat. The saddest part about it is that in this free market system there is not much competition to chose from. Monopolization is a sad reality in our culture. I miss the old Bell Telephone, i guess I’m dating myself with that one… lol

After having to cancel my Verizon order that was never fulfilled, I wondered why I didn’t choose Comcast all along. Better value better service better better better. I’m glad I canceled Verizon like a bad check! I got Internet the same day I ordered it. This Comcast office was run efficiently and without a glitch. They set me up with everything I needed.

Terrible service review too short to post but still waiting

I wish I could give zero stars. Comcast is the worst company I have ever dealt with in the history of mankind. Their customer service is unbelievably incompetent. I mean – shockingly unable to accomplish ANYthing you want done. I wish they didn’t have a monopoly. That’s the only way they maintain customers. They treat customers like dirt, and there’s literally nothing you can do. If this review can convince just one person to not deal with this company, I will have done my job. Call Fios. Call dish network. Call directv. Do NOT support comcast. They are thieves

Wow… now I understand why Comcast and Time Warner are the most hated companies in America.
Comcast provided me a 7am to 9am window for installation. At 9:15, I called because I had not heard from or seen Comcast technician. I was told the tech is delayed and you’re next on the route. An hour passes and no word from tech (especially since I was next on the list) I called Comcast again and was told the same thing. You’re next on the list. I call back again in another hour and got Dante (his id WZV) and at this point I am livid because it’s noon and I’ve wasted my entire morning waiting on Comcast! Dante advises he’ll give 6 months free HBO for my trouble and would email the tech’s supervisor and call me back with a potential time within the hour. Do you think I heard back from Dante? Hell no. I called Comcast back at 2pm and spoke to Linda who advised me there is no way for a rep to tell if a customer is next on the route!!! WHAT? Also, she saw no notes where other reps had entered information or requested dispatch supervisor’s attention. Linda emailed the tech’s supervisor and provided me with the order number for doing so and advised someone would call in 15 minutes. Well someone did «call» at 2:30 as I was hold my phone when the vm notification went off. The message from the dispatch advised my window was 2−6pm (when was I advised of the new window? Also, I was already in the new window time with out notificaiton of such). I called customer service to validate the time and when I entered my phone number the computer message tells me my new window time is 2−6pm and technician is due to arrive btwn 5:55pm and 6:25pm. At 6:30, there’s not comcast tech. I called comcast again and spoke to Phil. I am out of my mind because the tech is telling me they tried to reach me at 2:30 and thee was not answer and I need to reschedule. ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME!!!
Comcast, you need to be ashamed of yourself as well as embarrassed for playing with CUSTOMERS time and emotions! I can’t understand how the Federal Communications Commission permits this behavior to continue without fines or sanctions. For every complaint filed, there needs to be hefty fine. I will be filing a formal complaint against Comcast because they should not be able to waste customers time; lie/​mislead them by advising «YOU ARE NEXT ON THE ROUTE»; and they should communicate with customers when THEY are delayed and can’t commit to a window. To prove the a tech visited, there needs to be some notification left by the technician and not just their word because it’s clear from the above that lying is the first character flaw needed to be a COMCAST employee.
This is ludacris!
Anyone who is serious about making these inconsiderate, disrepectful, and immortal suits at COMCAST understand you can’t treat customer any type of way should file an official complaint with the Federal Communications Commission and the Better Business Bureau.

They opened right on time at 9:00 am. Although the security guy that came out to let us in, didn’t have the key for the second door. So he had to go in another side door, walk through the whole building and let us in from the inside, so we ended up being let in at 9:02am.
The employee that served me was very friendly, smile on his face and everything.
I did notice though, at 9:15am when I was out the door. so was the line. There are only two employees here so I imagine the lines take about 30 – 45 minutes. Ouch

Worst customer service ever!!! Can you talk English so I can understand? Not to mention what a rip off comcast is. I have blast internet and it’s still slow. I’ve learned my lesson and will definitely be switching to Verizon! Anyone working for Comcast should be ashamed they are employed for a company of crooks!

I would give the –1star if I could and am very sorry I didn’t read the Unilocal reviews before
I signed up. This company is in the dark ages. I advertises «on demand» but most shows do not allow you to fast forward and some don’t even let you reverse. Some shows don’t show up at all like Jeopardy or the news in case your in the middle of
them and the phone calls you away. So demand is a joke and pretty useless. Then
there is the part where if a season is over they charge you to watch episodes. Almost
everything has a charge either per series or per episode and most of the movies
have a charge connected to them. They are expensive. I only changed from Dish
because the basic program at $ 28. over the years had gone up to $ 53. Where
is the FCC in all of this? It is exactly like being mugged. As far as I can tell they
are all thieves and just another «tax» if you live in the city. I called for help and
was told «read the directions» which I had done so how does one navigate from here?
Perhaps they are encouraging us to give-​up TV all together and they make it seem
like a good idea.

I chose this location in Philadelphia because according to Google it is the corporate location.
The biggest issue with Comcast is its customer service. The Comcast Customer Service reps lack knowledge about the product and services; they lack customer service integrity and loyalty to the brand. They are reckless regarding the customer experience and potential liabilities resulting from their lack of knowledge and proper response to client issues.
When a customer is paying outrageous charges just to watch TV and they call Comcast regarding an issue; a question; or some other need for education or guidance, the customer is calling a Comcast Representative, because they truly believe that representative will be able to help them, and as a representative the Comcast Rep should be knowledgeable enough to give the customer right and true answers and/​or guidance.
If the Comcast Rep cannot do that, who should the customer call? Unfortunately, if a Comcast customer service rep gives you the WRONG information and you believe them because they are a COMCAST Customer service «REPRESENTATIVE», that you called for help, you are Doomed. Even if, in one situation you have a copy of the CHAT with the rep giving you WRONG information in the CHAT, you are still liable.
Also be aware that since Comcast uses contractors for installations and sales if some of your personal equipment goes missing, you may get some free channels. If you call Comcast customer service and get a rep who happens to be a contractor, they may offer you better services with another cable company, instead of focusing on your issue with Comcast. The clincher is, make sure that the rep who is trying to sell you another service company at least addresses your issue with Comcast before you hang up. If you call Comcast to complain about the Comcast customer service rep who offered you services with ATT Uverse; who kept your phone number and calls you regularly to see if you will consider letting them set you up with another Cable company; and the Comcast rep that you get to make this complaint says; «that happens sometimes because the rep was a contractor», you are again on your own
I was with Comcast as a new customer for only 4 months. It is remarkable how they tell you that the conversation may be recorded, but they just so happen NOT to have a copy of the recording where you are disputing the contents of a conversation with a rep.
The end of my Comcast is NOT over I still receive phone calls regarding retention, from reps who are not aware that I have not been a cable or internet customer for 2 months now. This is another example of poor organization and administrative protocol. I am still being billed for the security service I requested be cancelled 4 months ago and the equipment picked up 2 weeks ago.
The end; I received another call today from a Comcast Service rep asking me about retention for keeping the cable and internet services that were cancelled and equipment returned on 1÷22÷2014. At this time I was also notified that I would be receiving a final bill which includes a $ 1000 early termination fee for the security service I called within the grace period to terminate 4 months ago. What is so ironic about that call on 11/​29/​2013 is that when the Xfinity home person could not tell me how to stop the touch pad from beeping and I said «I don’t think this is the system for us; how do I cancel?» The rep said, «I can go ahead an get that started… you are within your 30 day period. I said «Really!!! I didn’t even know I had a 30 day period». It is convenient how Comcast has a record of most of my calls regarding my complaints and issues, but absolutely no record of the call I made 11÷29÷13 the day after Thanks Giving, to request cancellation of the Xfinity security services.
In Closing:
It’s like imagining a Mafia experience from its portrayal on TV or in Movies. I can now imagine what that might feel like from the perspective of someone unknowingly getting involved with a group, person or company that is willing to benefit from them at any cost and in some way regardless of the injury as long as they prevail.
Consider the recurring issues in the reviews, i.e., Customer Service Reps. Consider the cost of doing business with Comcast in general or if there is an issue. Consider how they got so big even with such a high rate of complaints. AND… Consider how vulnerable you are if Comcast is the only provider in your area, then hope you get lucky like some on this review site. In any case be careful. Best Wishes

I have had a horrible experience so far with Comcast. They used to be good a year ago, but now they are throttling my Netflix speeds, I am paying for a 15 – 20 MPBS package and am only getting 5MPBS, half of the time I call the department I need to speak with isn’t open, the list goes on. I will not be renewing my subscription when I move in a few weeks. I do not know if Verizon is any better, but there has to be a better alternative to Comcast. Also if you are a Netflix subscriber, good luck getting their service to work consistantly without a ton of buffering on their service these days. Netflix ranked Comcast as being the ISP with the slowest download speeds. Ugh

Comcast is such a monopoly. Of all the things the government controls, why can’t they control the ridiculous prices of cable and internet service and demolish the monopoly on service? Their entire infrastructure is paid for by taxes. Why am I paying $ 82 a month for internet?! It started at $ 36 a month and it has slowly creeped up over the last 2 years. We did have a lovely gentleman who came to service our wires because apparently they were old and causing poor service, however it’s just such a scam. I would pay less going to Starbucks and ordering a coffee everyday and using their free wi-​fi! The worst part is Verizon FIOS is not available on my block yet. So frustrating!

Bad customer service and junk equipment. I have had Comcast now for about 15 months, during those 15 months I have had them change my bill due date five times, I have had four of their DVR cable boxes fail and have spent hours on the phone just waiting to talk to someone that provides no service at all!
Lets start with bill due date, first it was the 20^th of the month, then the 30^th of the month, then the 15^th of the month, then the 30^th of the month, then the 15^th of the month and now the 30^th of the month. When I asked them why the keep changing it they say I fall in a different pay schedule, I guess it changes whenever they want it to.
Equipment from Comcast is junk! I have had four DVR cable boxes fail. The first one just stopped working, so I went to the Comcast Office, about 15 miles away, and picked up a «new» box, guess what the «new» box didn’t work. I drove back again and demanded a actual new box, nope they don’t have new boxes just refurbished boxes. So the third box, worked but the «On Demand» wouldn’t work… so then I had a tech come out and guess what it was a bad box… so he installed a newer black DVR box, it lasted about 5 months and stopped working. JUNK! Also there great push about how you can watch TV on your phone or computer, please give it a try sometime… it also sucks. The shows stop working half way through, at times you get on endless commercial streams and the show never comes back on.
Customer service also sucks… if you call after hours you talk to someone most likely in India who you can tell has a set of question cards in front of them and they attempt to fix your issue with a generic answer. You ask to talk to a manager and you get placed on terminal hold.
Comcast, Xfinity what ever they want to call themselves is junk! Now they come out with this new X1 platform… how about fixing the issues with the current platform before spending time and money on something new!

Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. I wouldn’t be with this company to begin with if it wasn’t $ 10 cheaper than its competitors. Fire all of them and start from scratch. I’m sure people with better manners are out there looking for jobs
