If you check out the filtered review section at the bottom, you’ll see that all the recent, one-starred reviews ended up in there. I wish I could give this place less than one star… I came here on a saturday night, the day before the St. Patrick’s day. I had read the Unilocal reviews and saw that this place wasn’t rated too high, but one of my friends was throwing an event there so five of us decided to check the place out. what a horrible, horrible experience it turned out to be. Thank god my friends were there to salvage the experience. The club was mad shady with the bar located at the corner end. The event only allowed us to stay on the first floor and we were told that we had to pay separate cover to go to different floors. The only thing positive about this placed seemed to be its size – three-floors – but we weren’t even allowed to experience that. Not only that, on the first floor, you’re not allowed to take the drinks out onto the dance floor or even take it out of the small room the bar is located in. To make the situation worse, bartenders were the rudest people I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t even a crowded bar, there were only like 3 people other than us chilling by the area so they don’t even have an excuse for their horrible and delayed service. They cursed at me for no reason when I was trying to politely order drinks and I was taken aback because I never had an experience where the people in the service industry flat out cursed at me. I’m also a server so I know customer service is a hard work, but I also know that it’s NOT.THAT.HARD. They also seemed pissed off the whole time they were taking my friends’ and my orders. To make the night worse, when my friend raised his hand in an attempted to get the bartender’s attention, the bartender claimed that he disrespected him and called the bouncer to throw him out of the club. save your money and time. DON’T GOHERE.

I recently had a private event here on the first floor and was very, very unimpressed for several reasons. First, the bartenders were very rude. Not only were they very impatient when taking drink orders, they added automatic gratuity to any tabs that were left open on a credit card(they not only required a $ 40 minimum, but they charged close to 33% tip). They were also using the lowest of the low in terms of liquor(read: Banker’s). And while I guess it’s technically legal, they were charging for tap water. Yep, $ 1.25(awkward pricing) for a cup of tap water. This was totally new to me and honestly, a huge ripoff. I guess they were desperate enough to make money… Additionally, coat check was not included as part of our original contract for the party, but not only did they basically require people to check coats, but they charged $ 3 per article, which was a slap in the face. Also, the venue itself wasn’t too clean. The floor was disgusting at the beginning of the night and the bathrooms were in very poor shape. We had a very smooth time working with them up until that point, so I guess we should’ve suspected something would come up Either way, definitely won’t be working with them again(I guess they go by Blurr now?) and will most likely not visit for any event.

This place was the jenkiest worse club Ive been to. I should’ve trusted all the reviews on Unilocal but the only reason why I came here was because my friend was throwing an event. The thing that made this place terrible were the bartenders. One was a short chubby white guy and the other was a equally short and chubby white lady. I ordered drinks for me and my friends and my other friend tried to order drinks as well but he yells at her«give me a F***ING second» why would you yell at a girl that’s trying to order drinks? Then when I give him my card and ID, he looks at both of them, then literally THROWS both cards in my face and takes the drinks away saying my cards don’t match when they clearly do and the guy is too dumb to read. He gives me back the drinks and I tell him I want to bill out now but he gives it to the stout lady and she takes my cards away. He says there’s a $ 40 min but the 4 Long Island ice teas I ordered are fine to meet the min. Then it still takes me 30 mins to get my bill after repeatedly reminding them. It turns out they included the tip already of $ 10 for their crappy ass service that you can’t change. He then hands me two more Long Island ice teas and I asked him what they’re for. He said it to meet the minimum. So this idiot hands me two drinks right when the place is closing instead of telling me he already charged me for 6 drinks in the beginning and should’ve given it to me while we were waiting for so long for the bill instead of when the place is closing. To top it off, he kicked one of my friends out just for raising their hand to try and order a drink at the bar saying he was snapping at them when he clearly wasn’t. I’ve never seen bar tenders act this way and yell at customers. They’re always polite, calm, or acknowledge that they’ve seen you waiting. It almost seemed like these bartenders were drunk themselves or on something. Never coming to place again solely because of the service there.

Club 27 is an after-hours spot in Olde City. As such, you should be prepared for the usual olde city charlatans who you will inevitably run into en route to, at or around this slightly-industrial spot. I’ve been here a couple times. Usually it’s about 10 – 15 dollars to get in and the bar is not too expensive. I was sold on this place when I stopped by after a Crystal Castles show at the electric factory. There were about 10 of us, totally raving out and the bar tenders loved us so much they gave us all some free beers. Predator was playing on a bank of TV above the bar. The music and DJs are pretty good, with a pretty good playlist of house and euro-house dance tunes mixed in with the right hip-hop and rap tracks. Inside it’s sort of small but you don’t feel cramped. The designers made the right decision and put the DJ booth up above the floor which naturally makes the room feel bigger, which is a good quality. I’m a fan for a couple of reasons. a) It’s in the base of a parking garage b) good music c) pretty nice staff d) good looking chicks e) not olde city crewed out as much as you would expect I don’t really go to after-hours spots because I live downtown and can just take the party back to my place, but if I was in the area on a Friday night and feeling the vibe after the bars close, I’d check out Club 27.

Top floor is jam packed. Bottom floor is empty because its 21+ only. Overall, I would seek out another club, especially if you are of age. Music is fine but what’s the benefit of dancing at club where you feel like a sardine?

Let’s see what I remember… paying a cover $ 20 charge(I was drunk or I wouldn’t have done it), getting into the place and seeing most of the rooms empty, finding the one room that was packed like sardines, getting a couple of beers, and mingling. And then realizing that all of those sardines were under 21, some of which were high schoolers. I had way too much even before I got there, so I got out, hailed a cab to go home, guided myself to my bathroom, barfed, brushed my teeth, changed, grabbed a bucket, and went to bed. That’s about all I have to say about that. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back here. Not so much because the place was horrible. It’s just not my crowd.

This is the best Place in Old City to party. It holds about 1,000 people and on Friday and Saturday night’s they are packed. They normally have all kinds of live concerts and performances there … great drink specials with dollar bottle on Friday and Saturday night’s. Who does that in old city ??

It was dead here. And I found the obviously naked girls dancing on the huge screen disgusting and funny. They looked tired and/or drugged.

I’m practically a regular here, since I’ve been coming here for 2 years(in July) . It’s fairly cheap to get in: $ 8 with a flyer, $ 10 w/o before 11PM, and it goes up slightly after that. And Friday nights(21+) are no cover, I think. There are 3 floors available for dancing, but only the 2nd floor is available for people under 21; the second floor is also the main dance floor. I usually have a pretty good time. The actual party doesn’t start until about 11PM when Q102 shows up, but it gets packed rather quickly. I usually leave early when it gets too crowded, but other than that, I haven’t really had issues with the place. Why else would I have been coming for almost 2 years? :P

Club 27, full of High school kids and young college kids. Probably the biggest club in Olde City area. 3 Floors. 1st floor– i’ve never been to because. 2nd floor — is where the party’s at and main dancefloor 3rd floor — for the only 21+ bar/vip/and catwalk for the strippers and hoochie mamas who likes to pull off a lindsey hohan or britney exposing no underwear incidents. btw did i mention 18+ ? I forgot what radio station used to promote them, but I haven’t heard from them lately otherwise. It has gotten old and forgotten by most people… probably because it’s in a dark fugly alleyway where nobody will see you. And you know those radio stations lie anyways, talkin about free for ladies and when you get there you gotta pay. False advertisment. The last time I went there was probably last year and there was a huge fight, the stupid assholes bouncers took my camera and deleted everything off my memory. This asshole took my camera off my hand, and he was much bigger and taller from my 5’4 ass and deleted everything. What a fuckin asshole. OMFG now i know why i hate club 27!!! I shouldve beat the shit out of him for that or got his ass rolled on for that, fuckin asshole. UGH! NEVERAGAIN! i swored off club 27 cuz of that! It’s full of young grimey ass youngbucks who likes to grind and grind exposing their hohans not caring who sees especially when theres only like 20 people surrounding you. Disgusting and pitiful.

Club 27 is one of the larger venues in Old City. It’s not particularly clean, and the décor(if you can call it that) is jumbled and confused — for example, there used to be a room that was decorated with asian characters that now is a tad more pedestrian. Club 27 is there if you need it, but I don’t usually frequent it unless a friend is throwing a party. Different radio stations have parties here since the place can handle a large crowd. I’ve had birthday parties here twice which kind of sort of works — it’s not SO large that you’d lose track of friends(think Shampoo), but the multiple floors can get annoying. It’s not like you can call your friends to see where they are since it’s gets noisy inside. Depending on the party(or parties), the three floors are split to host different groups, or cordoned off for those who can’t yet legally drink. Depending on the party, the DJs can suck or not. Shotgirls occasionally walk around trying to get folks to drink their weak shots, and there’s a lady I’ve seen who sells bears and flowers. Bartenders generally are nice, I’ve only ended up with an asshole bartender once. Bouncers haven’t given me any problems either but your mileage may vary.

If I could give this place anything less than 1 star, I would. Do not come here if you want to be around a fun, diverse, classy, good-looking crowd of people. Do come here if you like crappy drink specials that only include watered down, bottom shelf mixed drinks, overpriced shots, and rude staff.
