Cheap haircut but NEVER on time. I was told to come in at 1:30 and four people were helped ahead of me. I walked out because they are always this late. Only come if you’re strapped for cash and have at least an hour to kill.

I found this hair salon on Unilocal,good grades and close to my hotel. I did not read the comments and booked for a Great Gatsby style hairdo for a wedding. I was a bit surprised when I walked in: all customers were young guys waiting for a cut. They gave me books with pictures, I selected my style and it was fabulous! I had a lot of compliments. And the price was very affordable. My stylist even used gold pins as I am blond.
The couple is very friendly, they know every customer by first name.

The haircut was great but the sign in the window advertised a price $ 10 less than what the man at the desk charged me. (I don’t have long hair and only got about two inches trimmed off– a very simple procedure. He didn’t even wash my hair.) They also had a sign saying ask for a student discount, which I did only to be told no despite being very much a student…
I liked my haircut and I think the price they charged me was actually reasonable as I was provided with a service but I do not like false advertising and unfriendly receptionists. My search for an affordable, friendly (and now honest?) salon continues.

This is the place I’ve been coming to since I moved to Philly 6 months ago, and I don’t plan on going anywhere else. I’ve been here twice, and plan to go again today. My last haircut here resulted in the first time I’ve ever gotten compliments about my hair! That’s saying something. Plus, Juju and the whole staff are extremely friendly. I always enjoy my conversations with them while I’m getting my hair cut. I’ve also received a compliment from them on how healthy my hair is, another first for me.

Very pleasant and reasonable ($ 10-​$ 12!) for a good basic men’s haircut. Juju is the best — love the way she fades the style properly so his hair doesn’t have the «hair buzzer steppe» look.
The spot is tucked away and doesn’t look fancy, but there’s always a line of guys waiting for a haircut. Call ahead and go early if you have a preferred stylist. There are a few stylists there, but Juju is the best at listening to what you want and is the most adept at her craft.
Spouse has not seen any women getting haircut/​style there, but I may check it out one day!

Juju gives a great haircut every time and she and her husband, Sunny, are the two friendliest people in Philadelphia. I really look forward to my biweekly Juju visit. Walk in or call ahead — either way, you won’t wait long and you’ll leave a happy customer.

I’ve had haircuts everywhere from Roxborough to South Philly, and JuJu is quite simply the best barber in the city. I recommend making an appointment as she does get busy.

This place is incredible. If you are in Philadelphia, you should consider having your haircut done by JuJu. Not only is it one of the best haircut, it’s also the best price in town. Also I walk-​in after being gone for two years (I now live in San Francisco) and she remembers not just my name but my entire family.

Juju is great. Extremely nice person and true professional. She also keeps you guessing with the conversation. I believe we talked about everything from the weather, to vacation spots, to wing bowl. Yes. Wing bowl. Juju claims she can eat about 20 wings give or take. I doubt it but hey who knows. To follow up on what the last reviewer said, it’s highly entertaining. Definitely makes time go by fast during the cut. Bottom line, this is my favorite place to get a haircut in Philly and you cannot beat the price of $ 12.

I hesitate to leave a glowing review here because I already sometimes get stuck waiting 30 – 45 minutes for a haircut if I don’t time it right. That being said, JuJu does such an incredible job for $ 12 that it feels wrong not to acknowledge it publicly. I’m in my late twenties with fairly short hair and I’ve never been disappointed with my haircut.

This is my absolute favorite place to get a haircut! Juju is a master of her craft and always does an excellent job cutting my hair, and the conversation she offers during the cut never fails to crack me up. The wait is never too long, and at a price of $ 12 for a men’s cut, you seriously cannot go wrong. I will never get my hair cut at another place in Philly!

JuJu is a sweetheart. She talks to everyone and is very polite. Also, her skills with cutting hair is definitely up there. She truly cares about her craft and actually makes sure her clients get what they want for a haircut. She also takes good care of her clients and makes sure to use only the finest types of crèmes, pomades, and pastes (all designer brands) for her clientele. Very friendly spot and very nice people. I would recommend anyone, especially men, to come get their haircut here.

I thought I’d try this place because of the Unilocal reviews. My hair looked better off before this visit.
Justin made me look like a Pomeranian. I really don’t know if he’s cut women’s hair before. I asked for layers, and, without separating my hair into chunks or sections, he snipped off pieces of hair from my head to create layers. This is much different from how other hairdressers have cut layers into my hair in the past. The result was a poofy, uneven cut with blunt edges sticking out to the side of my head. So much for getting rid of dead ends.
I had hoped for JuJu to cut my hair, but she was busy with men’s cuts. Judging from the sound of the other Unilocal reviews, it seems like her strong point is with men’s hair. From my experience with Justin, I won’t be back.
The price ($ 18) was fair, but that didn’t include wash and dry. I’m used to Chinatown salons which usually include wash and dry. Guess I’m sticking with my usual because they at least know how to work with my thick Asian hair.

Splitting my time between L. A and Philly, I figured the fancy $ 50 SoCal clip would be the way to go. There’s no way a $ 10 haircut from Citrus could come close to to the fancy pants L. A version right? Cheap haircuts like this one usually scare me away. A big yellow warning sign goes off in my brain saying, «proceed with caution», but hey today I felt like rolling the dice. I’m glad I did.
My stylist, a Cambodian turned South Philadelphian women named Juju was lovely. Her barbershop banter was genuine, and you felt that she really cared about getting to know you. It looked like just about everyone who came through the shop doors was a regular, and she knew every single one of them by first name.
More importantly, Juju was handy with the scissors, giving me a clean, stylish, runway ready clip in under twenty minutes. Sure you won’t get the Moroccan oils and fancy frills of a the high end L. A salon, but you’ll leave Citrus with a clean and confident look and about $ 40 more in your pocket.
Fancy pants L. A salon? Never again.

A simple and fast haircut without a long line or hefty price tag. I am sure to return!

My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon for cuts. JuJu greeted us immediately and I waited briefly for Joseph, who did an amazing job of giving me the style I wanted. He was reading my mind, it seemed, the whole time I was in his chair. He’s intuitive and edgy. Also an extremely nice guy. My girlfriend got a great cut from him too.
JuJu easily did 10 guy cuts in the roughly 2 hours we were there. All around great experience.
All around great experience– especially for the price.
