I stopped in to buy a suit for residency interviews. Almost immediately I was greeted and the sales woman suggested a suit that matched my style and my budget. They even have a 15% discount for students that I didn’t know about! I had about a week before my first interview, and they were able to hurry the tailoring so I had my suit ready in time for it.
I’ve been wearing my suit for about 2 months now, and I’m constantly getting compliments on it and the little pocket square that came with it. I couldn’t be happier!

I have to give a great shout out to Brooks Brother on walnut st in Philadelphia. When I arrived at the store I was greeted by an associate who asked me if there was anything she could do for me. I told her I needed to up date my fall wardrobe she took me around the store and picked out many different styles and colors she put 4 outfits together and I can also wear in different ways. She was so patient and honest with me I am not a good shopper my experience was incredible I will always shop at brooks brothers for life.

Great store, wonderful selection of high quality apparel. Staff is friendly and always ready to assist in getting you everything you need.

There seems to be many reviews stating that the employees have been snobby or condescending. This has never been my experience. I have purchased a lot over the years from Brooks Brothers. Their clothing is timeless, without being too frumpy. And the fit and quality are usually pretty good as well. I feel like some of Unilocal reviewers are projecting some of their insecurities on the staff. I have visited the store on on several occasions with no intention of buying anything; merely wanting to see the seasons new stuff, and the employees have never cared. They ask if they can help. I say no and they they leave it at that. Thanks BB for all the great clothes over the years.

I’m not sure why the previous reviewers stated that the employees are «snobby» or «condescending.» My husband and I had quite the different experience. We came in with a double stroller and we were welcomed in– even helped us with the door! The babies were very fussy that day, but the staff at the store were more than gracious. Rose was very helpful and patient with my husband and upstairs in the women’s section, Leslie was awesome at sizing me and ordering a shirt for me that they didn’t have on site– even had it delivered to my address! When we returned to pick up my husband’s items a few weeks later it was the same stellar service!

I was recommended to Brooks Brothers after failing to find quality Chinos (khakis) from other stores. I am an entrepreneur who wears them a lot, so I wanted something that was comfortable and would last me a long time without falling apart.
Everyone there is super friendly. I worked with David. They ended up ordering my pants from another store and it was there within a week. After another week the tailoring was done and the pants fit perfectly.
I will definitely be going to Brooks Brothers for my future clothing needs!

I love Brooks Brothers clothing, but will no longer be shopping at the Walnut Street location. Every single time I’ve shopped here has been an unpleasant customer service experience. The employees are condescending and act like it’s a chore to help you. I stopped in this past weekend with a friend to see what they have new in stock for the fall, and as per usual, was met with disdain and gossip-​y looks exchanged between the two sales associates. My friend (she has never been to this location before) was so uncomfortable that she went to wait for me by the stairs.
It’s been unpleasant enough (on multiple occasions) that rather than getting a seam on my favorite BB skirt repaired in-​store, I asked a sales associate at Theory for a tailor recommendation, just to avoid going back. I think I’ll stick to ordering on line from now on.

I’ve been here 5 or 6 times, and the employees here are often snobby and unhelpful. Shopping here is an unpleasant experience.

I have several «off-​the-​rack» BB jackets/​suits. They have a distinctive style I like, and I am a perfect size 42. I also have several custom made suits from England. I was sent an invitation to a special «made-​to-​measure» show — then a follow up call to tell me of the very nice discount at the show. A made to measure suit should be a suit made to very detailed measurements taken at ordering time. What I got was suit made to off the rack specifications with a different fabrics and lining that is too big, for a lot more money. I will take it to a real tailor and see if he can salvage it. BOTTOM Line: if off the rack doesn’t fit go somewhere else! You father’s Brooks Brother’s is gone.

For the price, I haven’t found a better shirt. Love their noniron extra slim fits… For the young professional, they’re perfect.
This particular location has great customer service. David in particular is professional and courteous, will definitely be shopping here in the future!

The costomer service at this store is definitely lacking. Some employees have an air of condescension, others are clueless. You’d like to think that walking into brooks brothers you’re immediately greeted with someone friendly to help with your purchases. Instead, here they size you up with their eyes to determine whether or not you’re worth their time.
The exception to this is Doug. Doug is most often in the suit department and gives the best service. He always follows up with his customers, even sending hand written notes to thank customers for their purchases. Without Doug, this place would deserve one star.

I have a great respect for Brooks Brothers clothing. It was always the staple in my father and grandfathers wardrobes. As a young professional I too have started shopping at BB because of the exceptional quality. However, the store on Walnut has some of the worst service I have ever received, anywhere. I felt like every time I asked for a size or a fitting room that I was being unreasonable and bothersome. When asking advice on clothing for various events I was met with disdain and eye rolls. They even treated my father like this when we went in together. If I am going to spend a lot on clothing, it is also about the experience. And this was not a great experience. This is the only store I have had this issue with. These guys needed to loosen their bow ties and do their jobs. Order online or head out to KOP!

Ah, Brooks Brothers, how I love thee.
From your perfectly fitted, feminine oxford shirts that makes me feel like the reincarnation of Audrey Hepburn, or even Grace Kelly with the beautiful accessories that you sell, I cannot keep away from you.
I cannot for the life of me, fathom why there are shops like Urban Outfitters that gets more recognition than this amazing shop that takes your look to a whole new level. I suppose to each their own.
Brooks Brothers will make one feel more confident, whilst exuding it without saying much. From their personalise monogramming anything, you feel like a royal.
I am a customer for life!

the store is beautiful. and we all know its only skin deep. as far a suits go they just don’t really have any inventory. It seem to be all casual clothes and the prices are just not in line with quality. not to mention the overall stuffy staff that really only help you because its their job. if you don’t want to be in customer service get out.

With the exception of Doug who works upstairs, I have found the staff at BB Center City to be the least customer-​centric sales people on the planet.
Ninety percent of my dress shirts are from BB. I own three or four sport coats from them and a gray wool suit that I LOVE. (and I avoid lusting after material things) In other words, I am a regular shopper at Brooks Brothers and have been to stores all around the country.
Being a recent transplant to Philadelphia, I expected that I would have the same positive experiences at BB CC that I have had elsewhere, e.g., BB PHL airport and BB Bethesda and BB DCA and BB Back Bay Boston. But that is not the case at BBCC. If I managed that store I would send in secret shoppers and probably wind up firing 99% of the staff. They just really don’t seem interested in working with you to get you the clothes you need for work and casual.
If you want help with choosing things that are right for you, just go somewhere else. I know I am.

Expensive clothes make people look better.
Trust me. Take it from me. I am an awkward, gangly man who spent the majority of his formative years as a romantic failure. For a long time, I rebelled against the world of designer clothing, thinking that it was never for me.
However, as time changed, I matured. I realized that my style played a larger role in my interpersonal relations than I had thought. From my business dealings to my attempts to get the pretty girl, I never thought that my cargo pants and KMFDM shirts were holding me back…
…until I started wearing clothes from Brooks Brothers. Suddenly, women were nicer and people in the office were more respectful. The power, like lightning through my veins, was maddening. With bold-​striped-​tie-​around-​neck, I crushed my business rivals and sent their families into poverty. With the confidence of my finely-​crafted shirts, I drove the women of Philadelphia mad with lust. After years of excruciating power, I sat atop a throne built on equal parts gold and the ruined souls of those I had stepped on… and I looked fantastic.
So thanks, Brooks Brothers. You’ve made my life complete (along with my Zegna and Charvet ties).

Earlier this week, my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness & admitted to hospice care. Doctors were giving him about a week to live. I wanted to buy a new suit for his funeral (my only other dark suit was 11 years old and showing its age). So I walked into Brooks Brothers and purchased a new suit that cost some $ 900. The salesperson explained that tailoring the suit would take some 2 weeks. I mentioned my father’s circumstances and asked if the tailoring could be expedited. The salesperson’s reply: «That’s not going to be possible. We’ll just have to hope Dad stays healthy for another 2 weeks.»
Um, yeah. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for your help, Brooks Brothers. I’m not sure why I assumed that the $ 900 price tag would include first-​rate customer service. Next time I need a suit, I’m going to try Boyd’s, which is located just around the corner, or just head over to Macy’s at 13^th and Chestnut.

Ah, Brooks Brothers. I have lusted over your gorgeous shirts for years. Now that I have a boyfriend who likes button down shirts (and has a birthday coming up), I thought I could make he and I happy by purchasing one of your lovely, sumptuous shirts.
Sound of screeching brakes and my reality check as I enter the Center City Brooks Brothers. The guy at the door was nice, and so at first blush was the tall man behind the counter.
«May I help you?» he asked.
I was a little put off that he remained clear across the store from me, with no intention of walking towards me. My choices were either to yell across the room or walk to him. Something was off, but I ignored it.
«Sure,» I replied. «I’m looking for a birthday present.»
«I’ll be right with you,» he said.
So I walked around other parts of the store, and I waited, and I waited. And I waited. It became patently apparent our friend behind the counter had no intention of helping me. In desperation I sought him out.
«I notice you don’t have too many XL sizes,» I said, in an attempt to save the sale that he was quickly losing.
He gazed at me frostily over his glasses. «Those have already been purchased,» he said.
«I see,» I said. And I did. I saw that under no circumstances on this earth did our dapper friend want to sell anything to me. I can be a bit dense, but I got this one loud and clear. I will NOT be back. :)

The service is second to none! If anything it even seems to be returning to true old school customer care. Last fall they mis-​hemmed a pair of cashmere slacks that I purchased on sale. The manager not only ordered me a replacement pair, she also gave me a full refund. Then a few weeks ago I took my husband’s tux in to have the facing fixed after he got caught in the rain. They found a flaw in the fabric and replaced the entire $ 1300 suit!
You can bet we are loyal customers!

I guess I looked too poor to shop at this place. My man Armand, who looked like pudgier, shorter, gayer version of Denzel Washington in his teal polo immediately took a derisive attitude with me as soon as I stepped into the store. My friend commented that he was looking for a shirt and Armand told him that he would qualify for a slim fit but me… hey I’m not that fat, I swear. I realize this place caters to the suit buying elite but come on Armand, cut me some slack!
(PS Armand was right… because I am poor I ended up buying a suit a J Crew instead)
