Bow Wow & Meows Grooming Spa

I brought my cat here, and the groomer cut his leg, which resulted in him needing $ 150 worth of stitches. I thought the owner was really nice at first because she offered to reimburse me for the vet bill (I was only expecting to get a refund for the grooming), but she gave me the run-​around for two months, didn’t return emails or phone calls and at one point told me she couldn’t pay me because they had to pay more in taxes than they anticipated. Unprofessional and disrespectful. It would have been more honest and upright to have never offered to pay in the first place than to leave me hanging for two months wondering if a check was going to come in the mail.

They brushed so much hair out of my dog. It was a great service. He looks 5 years younger.

We brought our black lab mix back for the second time yesterday and couldn’t be happier! I had called earlier in the week and was able to secure an appointment within a few days. The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel welcomed. If your dog gets along well with other dogs, they will let them roam around instead of putting them in a cage. This makes me feel so happy since I hate when dogs are crated waiting for their owners to pick them up. Their prices are very reasonable — it was half of the cost of our previous groomer. Overall, our dog looks great, smells great, and was happy when we picked her up. I would definitely recommend this grooming salon to anyone in the Philadelphia area!

I Sooo wanted to like this place. First time around was great. Today I felt like I was overcharged. I understand my cat was not cooperating and therefore she did not get a dry or wet bath, teeth brushed, nails clipped and ears cleaned. I was still charged $ 75 (actually $ 81 since I used a cc) for a lion haircut which did not include anything else. I just picked her up and she’s been there since 11:30 am. It took 5 hours for her to get a haircut? Her haircut cost more than my own haircut?! smh…

I brought my girl here for the first time today and was very pleased. The ladies were very gracious about my little girl’s attempts to escape the grooming area (she’s quite the jumper) and didn’t make me feel bad about taking a little while to pick her up. They finished sooner than I expected so I was at lunch with a friend when they called… Oops! Most importantly, my pup was clean, shiny, and smelled amazing. They did a wonderful job and made me feel like a valued customer.
**Update** One week and lots of sweaty outdoor play time later… She still smells delicious and her coat is still soft and shiny! This was legitimately the best bath she’s ever had!

Kathy and her team are great. They are the best groomers I’ve been to in Philadelphia, or LA for that matter. Always accommodating and calls back right away to make appointment, calls if anything is amiss with my dogs or just to make sure I know that they’ll have to cut shorter than we discussed.
Best part is walking in and seeing the dogs being worked on in the open. Every other groomer I’ve ever been to, the work area is off limits and then the dogs are put in a crate where they’re scared and cry. At bow wow meow, it’s obvious the dogs are happy, free to roam and get the best cuts they’ve ever had.
My Maltese and poodle both have difficult hair, but Kathy and her team are always so happy to see them. I’ll soon be bringing the newest addition to the family for his first groom at bow wow meow.

Kathy and her staff are amazing! Mimi takes care of my dog and does an amazing job every time. He is not the easiest but she has always been great with him. I highly recommend these guys!

We have been taking our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to Kathy and team at Bow Wow for almost a year now. He always looks so wonderful after being groomed by them. They take great care in meeting our requests and we can tell that they take great care of him while he is there. Can’t say enough wonderful things about Bow Wow & Meows!

I adopted my medium-​haired cat Catabal LectPurr a few months ago and quickly learned that she isn’t a fan of being groomed, at least not by me. I can get a brush on her on occasion, but she won’t sit still for more than a few strokes, and at the time that I adopted her, her nails desperately needed a clipping, which she also wouldn’t let me do. I figured I’d hand her over to the experts and let them take care of her, at least while Catabal and I were still getting acquainted.
I saw the good reviews for this spa and booked an appointment. Catabal is a totally well-​behaved cat, but it was the first time I was taking her anywhere, and I wasn’t quite sure how she’d behave in a new place with strangers. The owner Kathy spent a little bit of time getting to know Catabal and then took her back for a groom, ear cleaning, and nail clipping. I don’t know what magic Kathy works — maybe it’s the confidence she gives off when she gets down to grooming — but Catabal sat still and behaved like a perfect cat for her. It probably took 20 minutes or less altogether, and there was zero fuss. It’s reasonably priced and I was very satisfied with the service. I took Catabal back again earlier this month for the same grooming as before and had another great experience — there was a lot of activity going on in the spa, with a number of dogs being groomed, but Kathy kept Catabal very calm and again had her in and out in 20 minutes.
It’s great to find a place you trust to take care of your pet, and I won’t hesitate to bring Catabal back in the future for regular groomings.

Kathy and her team are great. She is sympathetic to people who are overly protective of their dogs and does a wonderful job making you feel okay about leaving them somewhere for a few hours. She is always available for questions and does a great job accommodating appointments. She treats my dog like her own.

«Zeagle» loves this place… (well he hates being groomed, but he loves Kathy and the team)… and he always looks great! I know they work hard to get him done all while caring for his comfort, which is most important for him and me. Zeagle’s a 60 lb border collie with a mind of his own! They do a great job!

3 – 3.5 stars… Not a bad overall coat trim, and my 1 year old nervous rescue pup smelled incredible. She was sparkly clean! My other favorite part was how happy and at peace she was hanging out with the other 2 pups there getting their trim on in turns. The service was friendly and easy. They scheduled me last minute on the phone the day before. There were 2 friendly groomers working that afternoon weekend shift.
However, despite request. we wish they had taken more of her undercoat off as globs of her coat were shedding off as we were petting her post-​groom. Reduced shedding was one of the main reasons we wanted to splurge on another grooming appointment for her. We spent a half hour afterwards combing out her undercoat ourselves which surprisingly she sat still for I guess after a long day of being tended to
The overall price wasn’t bad and comparable to another place that we’ve tried before but I’m still on the hunt for the right place for her semi-​high maintenance long coat.

I love this place!!! This groomer gives personal one on one care for your pet. It’s a local groomer providing the best personal care for your pet. I have always had a groomer come to my home because I didn’t want her dropped off being left for a day while she was just one of many in a puppy grooming mill. My dog was in really bad shape with lots of matted fur because her personal groomer cancelled several times for health reasons. I was so scared they would just shave her down. But she looks amazing!!! This is a place you can trust to take great care of your pet and do a great style as well

Brought my two shelties here after a bad experience at best in show grooming (they burned my poor baby so bad). They took their time and did a beautiful job on my shelties. They were the most relaxed I have ever seen picking them up from the groomer. I will definitely be taking them back here! Thanks for doing such a great job!

We had a problem with communication. Owner resolved it. A bad cut will grow out. We have to be very specific in the future.

Love what they did for our 8 month old poodle/​cocker spaniel mix. We had a bad experience with a different groomer when she was younger and we had been reticent to try again. But Bow Wow definitely know what they’re doing! Not only did she look and smell great (no perfumes! that was something the last guy did that was awful), but she seemed to really enjoy herself! We have found our permanent place for sure!

I called Cathy for our first appointment and we got an appointment the next day which was great. We have a poodle/​schnauzer mix pup and I always have a hard time describing what I want. I just told Amy I want a medium cut and clean up by his eyes and when I picked Chewie up, he look great and they got what I was asking for. Overall, we had a great experience and was happy that they did not keep Chewie in a crate after his cut. He has anxiety screams when he is put in a crate. We will definitely be back.

The folks at Bow Wow were kind enough to grant me a next day appointment. I am new to the neighborhood and haven’t found many of my «home» businesses yet. Since I am a dog foster mom, it’s very important that I find reliable service to take care of the needs of my various my fur-​kids.
My Honey is a generally nervous pup so it was great of them to be sensitive to her apprehension during the first nail clipping. Thanks again, we’ll be back!
