Such a shame I have to write this because my hair always turns out great, but my last three visits here I was kept waiting 15 – 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment times. That is really unacceptable when you’re getting your hair done for an event and you have somewhere to be on time. Also it’s really inconsistent when you offer clients who have walked in after I did a drink but I was offered nothing. I would’ve loved a glass of champagne also and even made eye contact with your receptionist while she was bringing other’s drinks over but she didn’t get the hint. Not the way you should be running a business when a major competitor is opening in town in a week!

Jenn did a beautiful job on my updo. I came in for a retro wedding updo and she totally nailed it! She was very communicative. She got the look I wanted and checked in throughout to make sure I was happy. Thanks girl! :)

Went there yesterday for the first time. Brianna was awesome! My hair never holds a curl and it sure did after she was done. It looked great for my event and still looks great today! Will be back for sure

Obsessed! I lost my hair during chemotherapy. It’s growing back but super curly and I have no idea what to do with it ever. I am having my engagement shoot today and they blew out my short hair and gave it so much great body and beachy waves. Shaunte was so sweet and I wish I could get my hair done by her every day! Love love love.

Brianna was a fantastic makeup artist. She did an incredible smokey eye on me that had people asking about my makeup all night. She was patient and took her time to make sure it was done right. I would recommend this place for any event or occasion

Katie K was awesome. She put together a preview for my wedding updo. She was really fast, super sweet, and made me feel really comfortable. Book her. If you don’t you are missing out. And she can do Asian hair because I have Asian hair.

I set my expectations low since I am a NYC Drybar aficionado… but I had one of the best blowouts of my life. The vibe isn’t as exciting as I would have wanted… but my blowout was fantastic, so I can’t complain! Great work!

All I can say is AMAZING! Came from out of town to attend a friends wedding. So happy I came across this gem of a place. Tiffany did an amazing job she listened and offered me services to help my hair feel and look better. She took her time offered me wait for this a mimosa or champagne and was just plain awesome. I feel fabulous and kept telling Tiffany if I could take her back to jersey with me haha just because the place I usually go to doesn’t even compare to the amazing service that they provided me. Thank you BLO OUT! And thank you so much TIFFANY! Five stars definitely! :)

I come here almost once a month and consistently have a great blowout. Around 6 months ago, I had Rich as my stylist and I request him every time now. I have very thick hair and he does a fantastic job. Truthfully, every stylist there is good, but if I choose, he can make my hair ridiculously straight and silky smooth. Today, my hair looked so good after the blowout, with the perfect amount of bounce, I didn’t ask him to make it stick straight.
Both locations provide the same options and a complimentary drink (I like to have a mimosa). I love the layout here better than the other downtown location which also allows them to play movies. I just found out today that they have a loyalty program that essentially gives you a free service after every 10 signature services. I had no idea and it was a great plus. Overall, this is a great place for me to spoil myself… a great blowout, 10 minute scalp massage, and a mimosa. Sounds like the perfect afternoon.

Before my appointment at the BLO/​OUT Blow Dry Bar, I had a misconception of what a blowout was. I thought it was just the (nicely executed) blow dry you receive after a haircut.
Originally planning to get a basic blowout (straight) I was intrigued by the different curl options. I decided on the Savannah, but my stylist suggested a modification on that since my hair was a little too short for a regular Savannah. He listened to what I wanted and it looked fantastic when finished. At times the stylist was a little heavy handed though. The dryer got too close to my scalp and hurt, and at times I felt like I was going to be tossed to one side via my hair. He made adjustments when I mentioned this.
Alas, I should have known my hair better. In order to take a curl, I need a ridiculous amount of spray. Like kill an ozone amount of spray. I was hoping my hairdo would last until the Unilocal party the next night, but unfortunately it fell flat. Literally. That was totally on me though for going a day early and knowing my history with curls.
In summary, I’d definitely go back. Next time I’d request more product and definitely plan to go out the day/​night of my styling. This is great for special occasions!
