The food in great but the service is awful. If you ever come around 9pm be ready to eat and drink everything within 30′ because around 945pm they will ask you to leave, seriously! The chef and a waiter! So rude! If you want to sit outside and ask for one table and 2 chairs you can get a straight no! They are not accommodating at all. But the food is good…

Came here with a group and the food and experience could use improvement. We ordered some veggie and meat dishes and the quality was low. Not a lot of meat in any of the dishes and the flavor was okay. The could be another server as we had to constantly ask for water, rice, etc. There are better options around Philly.

Food was good but service was horrible, they tried to tell us they were not byo although their website and menu at our table said it was, then they tried to charge us a $ 10 corking fee although the menu said there was no fee on Thursdays. Never going here again.

I wanted to tried mee Siam from a different restaurant although I like it from banana leaf. I like trying different places. So I ordered mee Siam and my boyfriend ordered Roti canai. My mee Siam was good, very tasty and full of flavor. As for the Roti canai my boyfriend was upset with it because it was all soup with a piece of meat and potato. It was nothing compared to banana leaf’s Roti canai. So that was a disappointment and the reason I took a star off. For drink, I ordered Thai tea. It was perfect.

Got delivery and it was really, really bad. Pad Thai was not Pad Thai. No green onion, no bean sprout, and it tasted off. Scallion Potatoes were kind of okay, but not great.

We hadn’t been to Aqua in several years but it was the only place near our theater that we were able to get last-minute reservations on a Saturday night. Now I know why! A young boy was hosting and seated us in the first floor dining room. There was literally ONE waitress for both the first floor and upstairs dining rooms. One man from the kitchen(maybe the chef?) delivered the dishes. Our dining room was about half full when we got there, and began filling up as we sat… and sat. It took about 15 minutes to get our orders taken. I said we would share the avocado salad special. I asked for silverware, since we had none. When the kitchen guy finally brought the salad, it had one fork with it. I asked for another; he never brought it. We had to ask the boy at the register. The lettuce was not that fresh(some was wilted) and it was no way worth the $ 8.95 price. Since the listed sea bass special wasn’t even available(and it was early in the evening!), my husband got vegetable curry. I had chicken Thai basil(the waitress said the listed eggplant version was a separate version, yet the eggplant did come with the chicken; that was fine, but why didn’t she know that?). To our surprise the rice was extra($ 1.50). The food was okay, but not outstanding. And not once did anyone refill our water. They need to get their act together and hire some more wait staff. And don’t list«specials» that aren’t available in the 6:00 p.m. hour.

Good food, friendly portions, a bit pricey. Malaysian Fried Rice… very good.

Wow… I was really looking forward to try this place. I think a Chinese cart food will actually do better. I think for all the members that reviewed this place haven’t had authentic Malaysian-Thai food. Prices are relatively high, food is bland! I had to ask for chili sauce to give mine a taste. The Thai Iced Tea? LOL All Ice and too much sugar. Go somewhere else.

I went here for my birthday, loved the ambiance and the service. The food however was decent, I have had better thai food but its not bad. I would suggest the roti canai I though it was freshly made and I seriously enjoyed it! The tofu in my dish was a bit overcooked but nothing major. Would go back!

Horrible service. It took them 1 hour not to serve our meal, and instead if apologizing, the surly manager yells at us to pay for the soggy dumpling that came 45 minutes late… Would not recommend

Food was great. I got the«Thai pepper chicken» and it was phenomenal! Service was great and interior is pretty. My friend got chicken pad thai and he would give it a 4⁄5.

Good food! Super fast! We had just a few minutes so I told the person seating us, asked if It could please be quick, and after ordering we literally got our entrees in five minutes! Loved it!

I’m not normally a person who feels compelled to write bad reviews, but that is just how god-awful my lunch experience was today at Aqua. I went here for lunch with a co-worker. I suppose they were a tad busy, but this is the kind of place that’s really popular with office workers in the Washington square area, so you’d think they’d have serving big crowds to a science by now. Apparently not. My coworker got his Coke and I let what felt like 10 minutes pass before I inquired whether the water I’d ordered was ever gonna be served. Small sin, but it set the tone. My coworker’s beef noodle dish was soon served but my chicken pad Thai was not. [note: yes I know, chicken pad Thai is about as basic as a pumpkin spice latte, but in a place such as this one, I didn’t feel like being adventurous]. We waited and waited and waited. I watched as ONE person at the table of nine next to us suspiciously received HIS chicken pad Thai long before any of his brethren. Dafuq? Of course, by this point, I was quietly seething, as any millennial unfairly deprived of their precious pad Thai would be, especially when under the impression that some other millennial had mistakenly gotten hers. Finally, after about twenty minutes, as my coworker was FINISHING his lunch, I asked about the whereabouts of my dish. A server just nodded and took off. Five minutes later, from out of the back come four trays full of dishes, most of which were, yep, chicken pad Thai! But no, they were ALL for that other table. Naturally, I’m about to blow a gasket at this point. We angrily ask for my pad Thai again. I’m beyond heeding to my instinctual over-politeness. I NEEDSMYPADTHAI. Finally, following no apologies, my dish is presented, steaming hot and tasty-looking. And yet… It was probably the worst pad Thai I’d ever had. And they forgot the damn peanuts.

We went here only because the other restaurants we had originally chosen had two hour waits, but what a pleasant surprise! Everything was delicious, from the spicy basil margarita to the tofu lettuce wraps. Service was great, menu was vegetarian friendly, and there was no wait.

Very good Thai food. We ordered a Roti Canai which was crispy and the potato sauce was very flavorful. They have a lot of vegetarian options. We ordered Basil Eggplant — it had a tangy flavor that tastes really good. We also had a Mango Tofu — the Tofu was ok, but the mango flavor was tasty. Will definitely visit this place for Thai food!

I do like the texture of the homemade tofu and the flavors of their curries and sauces, but I’m still confounded about having to pay extra for white rice. Not sticky rice, just white short-grain rice. What they charge should include some starch. It’s a communication and management issue.

Was here with a very large group last weekend. They kindly accommodated us, setting up a long table in the private room upstairs and serving apps and entrees family-style. Everything was delicious, but especially the potato-pancake like appetizer served with a potato curry sauce and the shrimp pad thai. Everyone got an individual serving of coconut ice cream for dessert, which was also delicious. Service was a bit off, and the entrees came out very slowly. This made sharing among the group a bit awkward, though not entirely detrimental. Overall, the staff was friendly, and worked closely with our group to make everyone happy. I’d definitely go back for dinner!

If you come here, you should get their homemade tofu. It is the absolute bomb, I don’t think I’ve ever had better tofu. It’s so soft, crispy on the outside, and soaks up the flavor of whatever sauce or curry it’s in. I literally crave the tofu from this place, and since I’m in SF I don’t get it very often. And I absolutely cannot wait to have it again. Other things that are generally good: the roti canai, and they also have these awesome edamame and leek dumplings that aren’t on the menu. I remember them having a special menu w/these dumplings ages ago, and since then I think they just have forgotten to put them on the menu. But if you here, I highly recommend them.

Come for happy hour drinks and food. Great prices! The roti bread was so good. Try every food item on the happy hour appetizer menu, can’t go wrong. The lady that waited on us was so nice and accommodating. I would go back if I were in town.

Went here for lunch and had no wait compared to what you would expect around noon. The food was fast and the lady who worked there was very courteous! 4 stars because the food was good-but nothing exceptional. Plus side they do have a bar area!
