It surprises me that people have recent reviews. We went to check this place out but it’s gone. Wandered up and down Main Street like idiots before we finally decided to go to somewhere else

This is a great spot in Manayunk when it is nice outside. Grab a table outside with a glass of wine and watch the time go by. Good spot for people watching or a date. It’s also a great place for lunch. They have great salads. I had the poached tuna salad and it was really good. The paninis are good too. The inside is cozy. Elaborate drinks list. Good wine selection. Watch out for their wine dispenser malfunction that happen from time to time. The lines get clogged for some wines and you’ll be stuck with a bad glass. If you think the wine is a bit off, it probably is. ** I was recently told that this place closed and it is apparently a burger joint.

Had a great small lunch here of bread and fresh cheese. The cheese was the star of the show. It was so fresh, refreshing and delicious. The crusty bread was an amazing accompaniment paired with a nice craft beer. Pretty pricey but definitely worth a try

I can no longer recommend Agiato. Last couple times there were pretty bad – service not up to par for the prices and food inconsistent. They’ve now lost their liquor license, which was one of the best reasons to go there(for good selection of wine and beer).

Delicious! Cool, oversized, rustic décor inside, extensive wine and beer list. Prices are just right for date night(not too cheap, not too expensive). Coming from NJ, home of affordable, plentiful Italian restaurants and pizzerias, I’m picky about my Italian-American food. Agiato did not disappoint! We had a spread of 3 cheeses, which come with bread and honey. We had the Brie, Ramao, and another. The first two were yummy. Entrees: I had the prociutto cotto and fried egg panini, and my friend had the a pasta dish with crabmeat. These days, I am skeptical of anything that mentions crabmeat b/c it is priced higher and then has the nerve to be skimpy with the meat. Not so at Agiato. Succulent lump crab meat throughout went just right with a slightly spicy tomato-based sauce. We went splitsville, and I loved the pasta dish, and my friend loved the panini. I usually avoid Italian food in PA, but will make an exception for Agiato!

Agiato was a very pleasant surprise. I was initially intimidated by its appearance, thinking it would be out of my price range for a casual dinner with friends. I had dropped by with friends before but did not end up going because they have really long waiting times for dinner on weekends. We finally ended up going for an early dinner on a Saturday without a long wait. Their prices are better than Derek’s and Jake’s & Cooper’s, but they have a more unique menu. Their plates are on the smaller size, but everything was delicious. We had one of their arugula salads, which was light and flavorful. The eggplant was also cooked just right — it was light and fluffy. We also got a rotini pasta dish, which was on the smaller side, but again very very good. I want to go back on an empty stomach to try more of their cheese and charcuterie plates, as well as their paninis.

Hands down the most appetizing meal in Manayunk. Also, the owner can be seen around town and is friendly with the locals. So they got this funky kinda awesome wine dispense machine with a boat load of wines. They give you various options for trying which is really cool. The bar was right next to our table. The bar tender was awesome and stepped up as a secondary server, and did a great job up selling some wine to us. We also tried the fried eggplant. May I add I despise red sauce, but Agaito’s is the bomb! I tried the breaded pork chop and potatoes. By golly that was the best damn pork chop that I’ve eaten in my life. Must try. The place is also very clean, great ambiance, and a good date spot. Slightly on the pricier side, but for such great quality for the price.

I will definitely be back here again. Ever sit down at a restaurant and stare at the menu, struggling to decide what to order because everything looks SO damn good? Well, everyone in my party had that exact problem here. And I’m not just talking about the food menu. The beer menu is by far the most extensive in Manayunk, which is funny because it’s a wine bar. The décor is rustic and comfortable, dim-lit but not too dark, and the tables were handmade dark wood. They even have a big communal table which I thought was very welcoming. The service was both attentive and friendly, helping us narrow down our choices for both beverages and fare. If you like tequila, try the La Paloma. It’s Espolon reposado tequila with fresh grapefruit juice, agave nectar and fresh lime — it’s refreshing and delicious. I especially love the healthy-sized cubes of ice the drink is shaken over. We ordered a couple apps to share while we took our time figuring out entrée choices. Started with the charcuterie board and chose prosciutto parma, chorizo and speck. The other app we ordered was the ricotta, white peach and basil bruschetta. Both were great to share and very tasty. The bruschetta was tart, yet creamy and delicious. It was a great summer twist from the classic tomato bruschetta. The white peaches married well with the creamy ricotta cheese. For dinner we chose the following: the Kamanchi fish with potatoes, the lamb chops with ratatouille, the pork loin with potato pancake and the cassarecce pasta with crab and white wine. Everyone was more than pleased with their choices. Each dish was cooked right, and seasoned well. After a pleasing first two courses, we couldn’t resist trying dessert. Our choices included tiramisu, flour-less chocolate cake, and chocolate and hazelnut gelato. The tiramisu was light but also creamy and full of flavor. The perfect consistency of cream and coffee, finished off with a hint of cocoa. The chocolate cake was dense(as expected without flour), but decadent and satisfying for any chocolate lover. And finally, the gelato flavors were both fantastic, especially the hazelnut.

Fantastic — Went here for a late lunch with the gf. We both ordered panini’s that were amazing. Took a look at the dinner menu, and i must say i will be returning. It was a nice day, so we sat outside and enjoyed the scenery. The only drawback I found was the service was a bit so so. We had 3 different waiters/waitresses during the course of our short lunch. They were all very nice, so no sweat at all, just found it strange… Either way, definitely one of the better restaurants on Main Street. EDIT: So I am forced to knock Agiato down a star due to lack-luster service. We’ve been there a couple more times after the initial review and each time, the service was super spotty and slow. We were brought the wrong items multiple times. Every time I’ve ordered a bottle of wine, its taken them 20 – 25 minutes to bring it to the table. Just unacceptable. It’ll be a while before we come back to Agiato. Its a shame because the food is so good. Maybe they’ll get their act together…

Agiato is my kind of place. Natural and rustic, wood everywhere, with a focus on cheese and wine and fresh ingredients. We ordered 3 cheeses for the table, all sounded delicious. I was definitely underwhelmed when they were brought out. Literally 2 little pieces of each cheese. While delicious, portions were skimpy. For our mains we had a variety around the table, salad, panini, veal osso bucco. The salad, with all of my favorite ingredients, managed to be tasteless. Overall, there is a nice ambiance, but the food didn’t really measure up to my expectations. Nor did the service… a little pretentious? Could possibly be better going as a couple, since the portions are on the smaller side.

Came here again and I have to say this time it was really only a 3-star experience! The drinks were still good, but the food from the kitchen was fairly subpar and the service was pretty rough around the edges. The establishment was far from full but we felt rushed out when we would have liked to linger a bit, and I thought this was crass since we did order a significant amount of food and drinks. The servers we had seemed pretty green and definitely not as knowledgeable about the menu as the wonderful waitress I had when I came here previously. Maybe Agiato is better on weeknights?

My girl friend and I went there for dinner and I only have compliment to say about this place. We sat and ordered a carafe of French white wine and were served with some bread and butter. Then we ordered the polenta as an appetizer and then we each ordered different pastas. The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. When the check came, they informed us that the wine that we had was on them which is always a nice surprise. Will definitely go again!

It was a perfect Thursday evening in Manayunk! Great weather to do outside dining, and my friend and I chose Agiato among all the other choices. First off, the menus! So many choices! It took several minutes to read all that this restaurant had to offer. Craft beer, wine, cocktails, cheeses, pastas, crostinis, bruschetta, antipasti, salads, seafood, meats, and paninis… oh my! We were given three different sizes of menus. Whoa. Great selection, but chose the DeProef Witte Noire(Belgium Witbier) which was a dark and flavorful beer. For dinner, we shared two types of bruschettas: asparagus with pecorino and the peach with red onion. Friend ordered the frisee salad with goat cheese and dried cherries, and I was in the mood for their seafood mix(mussels, clams, scallops, crab, yum!). Our food was brought out pretty quickly! There were two large pieces bruschettas for each plate, so it was great for sharing. I now have a new crush for fruit on my bruschetta, thanks to Agiato! My seafood mix was superb, and I loved the broth. Loved, loved loved! We had to order more bread just so we wouldn’t waste it! Everything about this place was exceptional. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. And since we were outside, there were lots of people watching of those taking a casual stroll down Main Street. Huge fan!

This is just a quick note for those parents out there: The inside has a wonderful rustic feel; looks and smells good(small plates) BUT the tables did not allow for our Chicco tabletop highchair(the base/legs got in the way) and they had no highchairs to offer so we did not stay :(

I have never had chicken liver mousse before Agiato, and OH-MA-GAWD, I dreamed about it that night when I went to bed [serious]. Absolutely mind-blowing. It was topped with crushed pistachio might I add. The duck confit salad was pretty over-seasoned :[ but i could tell otherwise it was amazing. Love the outdoor seating, too bad a storm came few minutes after we got there. The bread was good, but not the best I have ever had. Definitely one of the best places in Manyunk! I would go for the chicken live mousse crostini alone!

You need to come here. PERIOD. This place is legit for a few reasons –Amazing well priced wine list with options from my 3 favorite wine producing countries France, Spain and Italy. They offer about 60 different varieties by the bottle and feature some very interesting varitels you don’t see state side. We chose a Pinot Bianco which was light, crisp and very fruit forward perfect for sipping while dining outdoors. –Small Italian style tapas and snacks. I think I died and went to fat girl heaven after my first bite of the truffle polenta with fonduta. Each bite was perfect and offered various textures(the polenta had a nice crust on the outside and was super creamy on the inside. The fonduta was perfect because you can add as much cheese as you like. LOVE! In addition to the fonduta we chose a few cheeses, olives and we shared a salad. I was FULL but still managed to save room for a few bites of the pot o crème which was oh so yummy. Our service was great our server knew a lot about the menu and her recommendations were spot on. This place seems to get a lot of traffic and they take reservations. I think this is a perfect place to refuel grab a drink post shopping on main st or to bring someone you want to get next to.

Manayunk usually means disappointment. Whether it is a soapbox race that gets rained out or a bike race day that’s less bike race and more Jackson Pollock going nuts on the Regional Rail floor with used up lunches. This is not the case with Agiato. This restaurant is a calmly decorated, small place that is engineered to make you feel comfortable. It is as if Charles Dickens created a wine/cheese/panini/brunch place. I’d say it makes me feel at home, but I only feel at home when I am surrounded by cold steel and technology. This is the opposite of that. The bread is such a highlight of this place. Anything you get that has bread will rule. The ricotta fresca, orange honey crostini is better than the gorgonzola, fig. The oatmeal is surprisingly good! The smoked salmon over robiola fresca is a solid bet. Their cured meats come oh so close to my Philly fave, Garces Trading Co. That means they rule. On the action-movie-parallel-satisfaction-scale, this place is Run, Lola, Run.

I want to go back as soon as I can. I ended up here for brunch with a couple of friends and sat outside(there is plenty of outdoor seating). I enjoyed a few mimosas and once I had the waiter decipher half the words on the menu, we tried a couple crostinis, two tramezzinis(small, crustless sandwiches) and I got the prosciutto, gruyère panini with a fried egg on top served with a side of greens mmmmm. The crostinis were perfect and I wouldn’t get the tramezzinis again because there are a ton of other menu items that look delicious and more filling. Anxious to try more of the menu next time I find myself back in Manayunk.

Last summer Manayunk saw the opening of Agiato Bread Company, and last month the paninoteca– wine bar opened a few doors down. Besides an extensive wine list, the menu features things that go well with wine; meat and cheese selections, soup, salads, and paninis. Sitting inside the small space, with its tiled accents and imported South American wooden tables, you might forget the debauchery that goes down on that very street any given weekend night. There has been some recent chef quitting drama, but it not appear to effect the food on my visit. The waitress told me that if I was a lover of eggplant, which I am, I should try the pressed eggplant panini($ 8) with crescenza(a soft cheese) and romesco(a pepper and tomato spread). Cheesy eggplant is definitely better than plain eggplant, here, the oozy cheese sourounded the eggplant slices as of they were one being. I also enjoyed the little side/garnish of roasted tomato and basil, it was kind of like gazpacho in solid form. For a fancy ham and cheese sandwich, the prosciutto cotto with gruyère and a fried egg on top($ 10). The egg was really aesthetically pleasing, I don’t know how they got it shaped so perfectly with such lovely burnt edges. The pickled onions on the mini side salad were a memorable touch. But the most impressive dish of all was the assertive frisee salad with duck confit, cherries, goat cheese, and fat crispy croutons. Everyone component of the salad was lightly coated in dressing and goat cheese. The duck pieces were amazingly good as was the unexpected addition of the cherries. This was one of the best salads I have had in a while. At $ 8, the smallish salad would unfortunately not be something I could puchase every day, but if money were no object, I could regularly eat a Jessica Simpson sized portion of it.
