A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts

I come here because is close to my house, I would not otherwise, the employees are not really helpful — Not all of them i do have to say there are about 3 or 4 that are helpful but not very knowledgeable of the store and the crafts. One of the cashiers was so rude to me the last time I was there — she obviously did not want to work that day — i asked an employee to help me with Acrylics because I didn’t really know what to get for my first time painting on canvas and the guy seemed to know less than me — I asked if there was someone who knew about painting and acrylics and he said no and said just get a canvas and paint and that should do it — I wasn’t really satisfied with his answer and he didn’t seemed to care. Like I said I wish I had a Michaels closer to me so I wouldn’t have to deal with bad customer service.

Love this AC Moore. The employees are nice, helpful and they carry a pretty good selection of what I actually need. Most of their items are always in stock, the store is clean, even the bathroom.

I love this store. I think their prices are fair! Went here for some accessories for a halloween costume, and when I asked if they had more of the item I needed, a staff member was more than happy to get up on a ladder and pull some more down! Whether you’re crafting, or just looking for seasonal decorations, they always have everything you need!

Having never been in an A.C. Moore prior to a few weeks ago, I was excited because our new house needs some major decorating help. Being that I’m on a budget, I was rather disappointed with the prices at A.C. Moore.
I found some lovely fall wreaths that were outside and on sale. But some of the «sale» prices were well over $ 30. For a wreath that someone might steal from my front door?! No, thanks, I’ll stick with the dollar store variety here.
I did find some mason jars on sale for $ 1 and grabbed a few of those but I don’t see myself going here often, unless I need something super specific.

They try. They did not have what I needed and an employee made me feel like I was a bother rather than a possible sale. Retail is a thankless job. Regardless it’s an ok craft store but I find it more expensive than Michael’s in Springfield. Three stars isn’t bad, it’s just ok so there you are.

I was at your store on South Columbus Blvd in Philly today. Asked associate if you had whiteboard panels. He tried to direct me to three locations in the store. Turned out he is a ‘janitor’ and not familiar with the merchandise. Why? Why not have a staff member who does customer service AND happens to keep the store tidy? Asked a cashier who didn’t know what whiteboard was. She at least was helpful enough to call back to someone to let her know you don’t carry it. Also, your button selection is lacking. You’re always great on frames.

I love this place! I got my first airbrush machine here with a 50% discount. Best deal ever! ;-) I just got my first semi human size canvas which I have not used yet at 50% off too! Im waiting to be inspired what to paint. As a painter, I still need to make a decision because I can not decide which giant size painting to do. Anyways this place rocks! I get my brushes here because they have plenty of selection. As a manicurist I was picky about my brushes and I am the same way as a professional face painter nude body painter. I can get lost in this store forever because of the ideas. I swear I need to become an art teacher! This store is my second to home. =)

Why are the people so mean and rude?! Customers and help alike are snooty! Get real. It’s a craft store not a designer Boutique. The selection is slim and costly. Try a fabric store or local mom & pop spot 1^st

This review is based on my experience with the framing department.
My fiancée and I have had two nice pieces of art and some vintage maps laying around and taking up too much space in our apartment. Dissuaded by the exorbitant cost of professional private framing businesses (which are pretty much everywhere in Philly), we decided to take them to AC Moore to save some money. Coincidentally, they were also having a sale that weekend (over Memorial Day).
We spent quite a long time with the salesperson in the framing area. He was super helpful, super nice, gave us great suggestions on what frame/​matting combinations would work best with our art yet completely respectful of our opinions and budget. Really, he couldn’t have been any better. He gave us a 14 – 21 day estimate for our two medium (approx. 16“x24″) and two massive (one around 24“x36″ and another nearly 36″ on one side, almost square) pieces of art to be complete. He left me a voicemail in 13 days to let me know they were finished.
I went in this evening to pick up our framed art. They were sealed in plastic, but I could tell they were masterfully done. They salesperson this time, a female, was kind enough to help me bring them to the front of the store, wait near the front as I pulled my car around during a torrential downpour and carry them out to my car.
On top of the amazing customer service, the quality of the work is truly exceptional and way better than I had expected. I’m glad we stumbled upon a sale that weekend (which happens fairly regularly if I understand correctly).

I like coming here for nooks and things that I can’t find at Walmart. They have tons of stuff and things to help with all crafty projects. I use to love coming to this location but in recent years the prices has increased and the store has gotten more cluttered. The the quality of some of the products sold here has dropped.
Would I come here again. Yes, this is the only craft store in our area and is in much need of a face-​lift. Its still a good store, just a little cluttered.

When I think of a place for crafts I automatically think of AC Moore. Compared to Michaels, I generally find that AC Moore has a better selection and I have some fond, and not so fond, memories in getting lost in the store surrounded by cool fabrics, paints, etc.
I visited the AC Moore on Columbus Blvd on Christmas Eve to pick up a few decorations and odds and ends for ugly sweater decorating. They definitely didn’t disappoint. Immediately upon entering the store I found myself surrounded by all types of garland, lights and ornaments.
They had a whole row of little bins filled with sale items of tiny bulbs and fake pieces of holly ranging from $.39 to $ 1. Not too shabby. They even offered tiny bulbs that didn’t require an outlet to light. As I continued to peruse the store I found that beyond the Christmas decorations they stocked anything and everything a crafter would need to create something really cool and original.
The only downfall of this place is the pricing on some of their items. I don’t craft often so I’m unsure of what the average prices are for certain items but $ 8 for a tiny tube of Krazy Glue? When I went the lines also seemed to be pretty long and there were a few cashiers that seemed to be having trouble validating coupons and they were in no rush to resolve the issue quickly for other customers waiting to leave with their purchases.

TIP:
ALWAYS go to the AC moore website to print out the store coupons. Typically they have a 50% off coupon and if you sign up for their mailing list they send additional coupons that you can’t find on their website.

I remembered AC Moore being the mad-​cheap place to get all my crafting items back in college (sorority life = crafts for every occasion). I haven’t had much of a need for these types of items since then, as I promptly ditched every desire to paint, frame and scrapbook the moment I graduated.
Cut to my job with Unilocal,and the need to get crafty and creative on a budget has resurfaced. In need of cute but inexpensive materials to make holiday cards, AC Moore seemed like a no brainer. While they had everything I could possibly need to make a pimped-​out card, I felt the prices were higher than I would have paid in a Target. Small plastic organizer bins started around ten bucks. Really? Even I know I can get those for about half the price elsewhere.
It’s still a great place for one stop craft shopping, but next time I’ll probably swing through Target first for less-​expensive basics before hitting AC Moore for the niche items.

This is definitely my go-​to for all crafting needs. I like the selections, plenty of scrapbooking stuff, artificial flowers and yarn for knitting (just to name a few things that I do not actually do, but I see they are well stocked!). The lines for checking out always are a drag, that is the downside.

A lot of things I need I get here!

I am upping this location to 4 stars (even though it is more of an urban 3 star location). I got in and out of there on BLACK FRIDAY WEEKEND — and the super-​friendly checkout dude «K», even scanned coupons for me — when I had forgotten mine.
We got $ 1.00 sale ink pads for 33 cents after the discounts.
We also got lots of great worsted wool yarn and knitting needles (Needing Knittles) for my 7 year old budding fiber artist.

When I was in college I worked here for over a year. The staff was disorganized and the patrons were ignorant then, and it’s the same way now.
I recently went to get a frame and a few pieces of scrapbook paper and had to wait in line for over 20 minutes. They have a camera that overlooks the registers, and I know that the managers sit in the back room and watch the live feed, so if they see there’s a massive line of people why the F don’t they come out and help? Especially if the young cashiers are asking for help over the sound system? Oh, that’s right, because they just don’t care.
I left wanting to cut someone’s head off. It’s sad that this is one of the only craft places in the city, because the location really is convenient. Maybe that’s why it attracts such a wide variety of people. At any rate, I’ll stick to driving out to the NE to visit Michaels instead. At least the time that I waste driving will be made up in speedy check-​out time.
Sidenote: lots of stuff that AC Moore has Target also has (and it’s cheaper).

The employees, though difficult to track down at times, have always been helpful here. I am able to find what I need, and they usually have good prices and/​or coupons. No complaints!
Plus they had a really great sale this weekend and I made out like a bandit!

Not being racist or classist, I really don’t mind the other customers or staff at AC Moore. I’m also able to go during the day when other people are working. It’s a huge store and on my first visit (Thanks Cherie C) I was able to drop over 100 dollars on yarn and stuff. They’ve also got a pretty extensive supply of knitting notions. I’m glad that I was able to find a place to get run of the mill and cheaper yarn so that I’m able to practice things and make goofy projects without having to spend a crap tonne on fancy yarn at other stores. Not having to deal with yuppies and hipsters is a bonus as well!
The thing I’m marking them off on is the organization. It took me a while to find what I was looking for in the yarn section and I’m pretty sure the stuff I wasn’t able to find was there as well but I couldn’t find it.

I needed to get one of those stupid little birds you see a lot in fake floral arrangements… you know the kind that look like real birds from far away until you look closely and realize it’s a mess of paint and feathers and styrofoam? One of those.
I finally convinced my friend Alison to bike down there with me (from Clark Park area). We stopped at Target. I got a cool pleather jacket. We took the scenic route from Target to AC Moore and looked at all the strip clubs.
I got my FREAKING bird for something like $ 2.50
I guess it was productive.
