Phelan Express Lube & Wash

The negative reviews worried me, so I did a LOT of comparing, checking, and getting things done other places. Someone told me Jiffy Lube doesn’t charge much for oil changes, so I went there. Turns out these guys would have done it for less and a much shorter drive. Since then I’ve had them replace tires and the starter and do the smog check. I’m very pleased. Great guys to work with and fair prices. Not planning on taking my older Toyota anywhere else now.

Never an issue taking my three cars here. Very professional group of guys that know how to take care of customers.

Smoged car in 15 minutes .no hassles with smog. We were in and out and no one got hurt. Price seemed fair.

Worst experience ever. Totally scammed my family into paying almost 400 $ for a part (bushings) that *they* had broke off my vehicle. And to sum it up I left the vehicle with them a week and they told me «it still Knocks. And another 400 $ might fix it» wth worst auto shop I’ve ever been to hands down. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. Trust me, it’s worth the gas and drive

Great prices. Great service. I was in and out with my car having passed smog in just 20 minutes. I’ll definitely be going back.

Not sure what happened to the previous posts for this place. I had left one and there was another one which had one star. Makes me doubt the accuracy of Unilocal reviews.

I fully concur with the review from Baseball F.
I took my car here thinking I would have no problems. My car did not pass — fine, but they were very rude on how they communicated that to me. It was close to closing time for them when they were done with my car, they closed me out and explained that if I get it fixed some place other than their shop that they would charge me again for a smog. Ok… No big deal have heard that before in other shops. But… When I suggested leaving my car with them to get it fixed, thinking they would be grateful for the business he said «well you could have told me that before I closed you out!»
So long story short Grumpy Old Men that work there with no customer service skills.
Don’t waste your money.

If you need a smog check as your positive it will pass, then go ahead and go here. Prices are higher than other shops, but it’s convenient if you leave in Phelan and low on gas.
As far as repairs go, I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about this place, but was dumb enough to try them out anyways. Lesson learned, do your research and actually listen to the advise of others. DO NOT GO HERE!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH!
