St. David’s Urgent Care

I have nothing but good things to say about this St. David’s ER. I have been here twice for myself, once for my husband, and once for my elderly mother. In every way, we have received excellent treatment, diagnosis and care. Everyone is very kind and friendly, the staff is top-​notch, and the service was FAST. Thank you!!!

Omg! This place is horrible. They are a once and done type of shop. By that, I mean they really don’t care if they have a good reputation or not. They are simply there to get one over on you and get that payment out of you, knowing you won’t be back. They just assume there are enough gullible people in Austin to keep the new customers marching in.
Like other reviewers, they misdiagnosed me. I suspect it was so they could upcharge me for antibiotics. The Dr didn’t even ask any questions. He just made up something and prescribed me to pay him some money. Well, you can only do that once. Next time I won’t be in there so you can have your little payment. Eventually you’ll run out of random people to con.

I will start off by saying that the staff is friendly the doctors are friendly the only problem is Misdiagnosis. I was there for myself once when I was two days postpartum and they misdiagnosed me and gave me antibiotics for something that I did not even have, they screened me for hours just so I can leave without knowing exactly what caused me to have extensive pain.
Last week I took my daughter there and I told them that she has a cough and that it’s been pretty bad, she’s been to that ER twice and twice they misdiagnosed her said it’s RSV and sent us home with nothing. I finally just made an appointment with her pediatrician which told me she had the whooping cough, pertussis, which not only is highly contagious but also pretty serious when it comes to an 1 year old baby. Thank you for a waist of time and money but thanks for having a stellar attitude everyone EXCEPT the white, bald receptionist you sir need to at the very least pretend you like what you do smile, look alive! I know RBF is real but I believe that you can make a difference with the way you receive the patient.

I had to have an unexpected and very painful procedure done here and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Etheredge, Kim (the RN), and the rest of the staff. What was a bad circumstance could have been so much worse had the Dr. and staff not been so compassionate and kind. Super thorough, I left feeling like I got help from someone who was very competent. If I ever have another emergency, I will be going back here.

I chose St. David’s because it was close to my apartment and woke up one morning with almost crippling upper back pain. I was eventually diagnosed with a cervical sprain and was given steroids and muscle relaxers. The steroids were prescribed to run out 4 days after I started taking them, and they did. My neck is still having issues and I am still having trouble sleeping. They did not work at all! I called back to ask if there was any way to help me in this situation and I was told to contact my primary physician. After telling them that I did not have one, which is why I went to them in the first place, the rude secretary told me «well I suggest you get one». Thanks for nothing! If you want your problem resolved, don’t go to St. David’s. $ 250+ down the drain.

Run away! I was having some issues and called my Dr. He couldn’t see me for 2 days, and told me to get to the ER ASAP. The doctor at the ER didn’t even examine me. I repeat, he did not examine me AT ALL! He asked a few questions, and ordered blood tests, that he even admitted wouldn’t help in the diagnosis. After the blood tests, he said everything looked good, but that I needed to see my specialist to find out what is going on. To top it off, the nurse suggested that I stop taking my prescription, but admitted she didn’t know if the script had anything to do with my current issues. They shoot from the hip, throw noodles against walls, and collect their payment without doing anything productive to diagnose your issues. They treat you with dollar signs in their eyes, and offer no actual CARE!!! Stay away! This place is an embarrassment to the Healthcare community.

This place seems like an Urgent Care type clinic, but they bill like an ER. My copay for an ER is ten times what it is for an urgent care clinic but there was no indication of that until we got a bill.
We went here for something fairly serious, but they misdiagnosed it (even though we already knew what it was; they ignored our information about my daughters history). They sent her home without doing an X-​ray or anything. They gave her an Rx for some strong pain meds but did nothing to address the problem. So for $ 100 they will give your 15 year old Hydrocodone. Hopefully she won’t die of a condition they failed to treat (thankfully my daughter is fine).
The staff was rude too. They treated us like drug seekers. And then gave us drugs. The drugs helped until we managed to get her to a real doctor later that day.
I recommend ExpressMD on 685 for normal stuff.
