Carl was great. Not only was he there to answer my call at 6:30am on a Saturday (I was sure I’d just be leaving a message…), but he had my AC back up and running by 8:00. I learned a fair amount about proper AC installation, maintenance, and even the local service market in the process. Definitely a straightforward and honest experience. He seems to genuinely enjoy what he does.

Carl was just out to our house and fixed us up when everyone else was saying they wouldn’t be able to make it out until tomorrow. He went above and beyond, and we’re so thankful for him. I know who I’ll call if anything else HVAC-​related comes up.

Could not ask for a better experience. He discussed the troubles I was having, diagnosed them, came up with solutions I could afford, and then fixed it. Thanks, Carl!

After our twin puppies ripped the wires out of our outside A/​C unit, I had visions of having to write a massive check for repairs.
Carl answered the phone immediately, was at our house 15 min after that, and had completed the repairs 30 min after that.
He took the time to hand solder and wrap each wire splice. He went into our attic to check our inside unit, located a tripped fuse that we would’ve never known to look for, and did it all cheerfully.
A lesser quality person could have likely taken advantage of the desperation we were feeling with a very uncomfortable house and no native talent of my own. We’re so glad Carl is NOT that small.
He charged us only for a service call plus supplies.
I will proudly recommend Carl to whoever listens.

5÷29÷2016 2:00 one hour prior to 50 guests coming to a graduation party and temp in our house is going up NOT down, holy smokes. Called Carl Heildolph of Carl’s Heating and Air. He arrived at our home 10 mins later and with in 30 – 45 mins had replaced the fan part of our unit and had our home cooling down. He stayed for a bit to make sure it was working and checked the outside unit as well. He was fast, clean, professional and I felt considering it was a Sunday on a holiday weekend reasonably price. I have saved him in my contacts and if needed will use him again. We can not thank you enough.

Before you waste your time and money, you should hire Carl to fix your AC. He’s the best, he knows his stuff, shows up on time, and he will fix only what needs to be fixed. Don’t expect him to be the cheapest price around, because he takes the time to fix it right the first time.
What you can expect is to learn about your system, and save yourself a ton of money in the future as Carl explains how to extend the life of your heating and cooling units.

Carl fixed my A/​C twice in the last 5 years. The last time not only Carl came to fix my A/​C on a very short notice, but he showed up about 15 minutes earlier than promised and found and fixed the problem before I even came home. It was a rather simple fix and Carl charged the bare minimum.

Carl is very helpful and will even show you how to keep your system maintained with DIY tips. I’ve used him for the past couple of years and am extremely satisfied.

Carl was wonderful and came within minutes of our call which came through after normal business hours. He is both personable and highly knowledgeable. He even showed my husband how to fix the issue with our AC unit should it arise again so we wouldn’t have to call someone in. That type of caring service ethic is rarely seen these days. I came home from work to find my AC fan not turning and feared the worst. I was planning to call Fox or Strand Brothers for immediate service. Thanks to a referral from a family member however, I found Carl. To be honest, my expectations were low at first.
To my surprise, he was at my house in less than 30 minutes. A+ for promptness!
With the fan not moving I fully expected the motor would have to be replaced. However, Carl not only diagnosed that it was a much smaller, simpler part — he took the time to explain exactly what happened and how I could prevent it in the future. A+ for integrity!
I was still expecting to pay a premium for such quick service and the lateness of the day (around 8pm). Instead, Carl gave me a very reasonable and fair price, processed my payment and gave me an electronic receipt immediately — something I would only expect from the «big boys». A+ for affordability (with a bonus for being «green»)!

Okay, this guy is a lifesaver. He didn’t have to come and help us at such short notice on a Sunday, and yet he did fist thing! We were desperate and & miserable, as both units had crapped out simultaneously.
He told us the absolute truth about what was necessary in the future, as this is our Landlord’s issue and we were unable to get through to property management-​imagine. The only good thing to come of this was a chance at meeting someone who is not only truly honest and wonderful, but cares about the health of others & helping them as fast as possible. And to find that this is what he considers his «fun job» spoke volumes for his character-​he truly loves to help others. He’s fantastic-​you won’t regret it also very affordable in comparison to these other larger companies. Thanks Carl!!!

So about a week ago my AC decided to go out. Carl had fixed the furnace (helping me get a less expensive part instead of telling me to replace it) and I called him again. He came out on Tuesday to look at it and the unit was definitely gone. It’s original equipment and over 20 years old. Now, he could have just put some freon in it but he told me it would last maybe two weeks and cost me several hundred bucks and he said he just wouldn’t do it. This is the kind of guy Carl is, he always shoots straight.
So I told him I wanted to replace the unit with a newer one. He ran the options past me in terms of which was right for me and even though he couldn’t get to it until Saturday, I wanted to wait for him. He and his crew showed up bright and early and were done in about 5 hours. And the house is cool again.
Carl goes far beyond the call of duty, he explains everything he’s doing, he’s totally transparent and I trust him completely to do good honest work at a fair price. I can’t recommend him too highly.

I scrambled today to find an A/​C repair person to help clear my return drain. Fortunately I came across Carl’s business on Unilocal (with great reviews) so I decided to give him a call. He walked me through the process of clearing the A/​C drain line myself (even looking at pictures I sent diagnosing the problem).
In the end with his help (30 – 45 minutes of his time) I was able to get the problem resolved. He did not want to charge me, but I felt like he saved me both time and money. He genuinely wanted to resolve my issue and did not take a dollar for it. This service, along with his help and care, will make a repeat customer the next time I have an A/​C issue.

Carl keeps some crazy awesome hours, which is helpful when your A/​C goes out on the weekend (Saturday night for me!). Carl came out and quickly got to work — even in the rain and mud! He not only helped repair and fix my issue, but he gave me great tips on how to extend the life of my A/​C.
Even though the issue was a broken fan blade, he took the time to check the capacitor, motor, current draw, and contacts to ensure our system was running as best as it could be.
The end result was working A/​C and a cool house, plus a follow up text the next day to make sure everything was running smoothly!

My sister had Carl come out for her AC issues a few months ago and had nothing but good things say about Carl. When my AC went out yesterday, she recommended I give him a call. AC issues come with a lot of stress and worry. However, when I called Carl, with his easy-​going attitude and immediate service call, my concerns were quickly alleviated. Carl is great. I needed my ac repaired and of coarse it was after hours. I called and his voicemail picked up. On his message it said I can text him, so I did. Of course, our AC broke on a hot summer day. We searched for a local AC repair guy and Carl popped up — we gave him a call and he originally planned to come the next day, as it was already getting late in the day (5pm). We had done some troubleshooting earlier in the day (thanks to my friend walking me through it), but to no avail, and were unsure if my friend would be able to help us out the next day. So we call Carl back and sure enough, he says he can come out that same day and get it fixed.
6pm rolls around and he shows up, replaces our compressor, and everything starts working again! He gave us some great maintenance tips on things we could do to help improve our AC’s performance and longevity, and explained everything thoroughly.
Icing on the cake: he told us we could call him any time the next day if things went south — which thankfully they didn’t!
Friendly, punctual, competitively priced, professional, thorough, and above all: honest. I don’t think you could ask for anything more! I highly recommend using Carl if you live in Pville (or nearby) and are having AC/​heating issues; he’ll get them fixed fast.
