I am so happy to find a great, honest mechanic. Edward is a super nice guy and responded very quickly to my texts and showed up as soon as he could and got the job done. We would have spent so much more at a shop. I will keep his number handy. What a pleasure to meet you Edward.

Ed replaced my starter in my 2002 Trailblazer great job and super fast. His communications were on point and all over text which was great, even saved me some time and money most places I called were twice what I paid with Ed.

I have had hit & miss experiences with mechanics over the years… mostly miss. I am very thankful I took a chance with Ed. From start to finish, Ed politely, and thoroughly explained what would be needed, and the realistic time it would take. He then worked with me as to when it would be the best time to do a review of any needed work under the hood, and schedule a follow up date to get it done.
If all mobile mechanics were as patient, friendly, and as timely as Ed, they would put standard mechanic shops out of business. I highly recommend you take your business to Ed the next time you need car work done, or for that matter, let him come to your business while you are at work, and come out to a car that sounds better than it did when you first bought it.

I’ve never worked with a mobile mechanic before, but I’m sure glad I took a chance after reading all of Ed’s reviews on Unilocal.I’ve worked with Ed three times now to completely rebuild my steering and front suspension. He’s done great work each time and always for a very reasonable price. I did all scheduling through email and he was always prompt to respond. Don’t waste your time or money with a traditional repair shop and just give Ed a call.

Ed is the man. Great communication to schedule appointment by texting. He works quick and does excellent work. I wasn’t sure if I had a dead battery or bad alternator, but Ed diagnosed it and explained everything to me, drove me to store to get the part, and took only thirty minutes to replace the whole thing.
He even cleaned the throttle and reattached a loose cable while replacing the alternator.
Pricing was very affordable. He’s always got a great sense of humor and a Dallas Cowboys fan! An honest, skilled mechanic is a rare breed these days. Don’t hesitate to call ASE, as other reviews prove Ed is 5 star service.

Ed you are just as they say in the reviews… YOU ROCK!!! My starter went out in my Acura TL, and he drove all the way down to the Oak Hill area on a Sunday to help a girl out. He responded to my text quickly, and he is the most cost effective, and convenient, way to go. Work was completed quickly, and he was a true professional with a gleaming smile. Thank you Ed! I hope to not need you in the future, but if I need car help you will continue to be my first, and only, call!!!

Works out of his house and doesn’t have necesary equipment to do most jobs. Kept my vehicle for a week and a half .Ihad to keep asking him when my car would be ready. No communication from him whatsoever. When I got my car back the back window and driver door were brokeJudging from the beer cans in the yard he doesnt have a whole lot of time to fix much of anything. Operation is a joke. Not sure how he got all the 5 stars something fishy in my opinion. Clothes and cologne were also missing from my vehicle. I should have known something was up when dude didnt have a tow company. Dont be fooled by tge reviews and a nice Name of the business. Should be called Ed’s House Where I Mess AROUND WITH PEOPLES VEHICLES AND F$@@ THEM OVER.

I’m so relieved I found a reliable, trustworthy mechanic in Austin! I recently moved to the area and did not know of any good mechanics here. I was so impressed with Ed and Carlos! They were both extremely professional, polite and helpful. They went out of their way to work with my schedule. Even though I had to change times and they had to make an extra round trip, Ed didn’t try to charge me any more than the original $ 75 labor charge that he had originally quoted me. I will definitely be using them in the future!

The starter went out on my car and I was terrified at the idea of having it towed to a mechanic who would then give me a quote with lots of digits. I looked online, found Ed’s glowing review here and decided to give him a try. I texted him with the problem and he replied immediately with an estimate and instructions. He met me that afternoon and replaced the starter within an hour– in the heat. He had a smile on his face the whole time and genuinely cared about the work he did.
I will recommend him to everyone I know and he will be the first one I contact with any future car troubles.

I texted Ed, best way to get in touch with him, and I got an immediate response. I explained I was having issues with my truck and after receiving my address he came over that same day, within a couple hours.
He gave me a time of his arrival and arrived on time.
After telling him all that is happening with my truck Ed then went straight to assessing my truck. He performed what seemed to be a thorough assessment including presenting a video of what he found wrong with my truck.
I was in total shock simply because his video showed me the previous mechanic had charged me an enormous amount of money and fixed nothing on my truck. Not sure what to do next and needing to process the info Ed presented to me I thanked him for everything and he left.
Though he didn’t actually do any mechanical work on my truck, simply based on his thorough assessment, and great reviews on Unilocal,I would definitely call Ed again and refer all my friends to him.

When you give a five star rating, Unilocal says «Woohoo! As good as it gets!» over there to the right. I can’t agree more. CALL THIS MAN!!! Let me tell you why! Ed and I had quite the adventure today, so sit tight — this is going to be a long one. But man, was it fun! It’s the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had finding out my vehicle is toast.
My big old ranch truck was sitting in the Barton Creek Square Mall parking lot, thirty miles from home. I had loaned it to a friend to help another friend move, and during the move it broke down. I’m not too surprised — it’s got almost 200K miles on it, and for a GMC that’s a lot. Plus, since I live on a farm with cattle and tractors and the like, I’ve beat the hell out of it over the years.
I text Ed first thing this morning asking if he could meet me there about noon. He was finishing up with another job in Pflugerville, so got to me as soon as he could, about 1:30. Diagnosis took all of a minute — it’s fried. The godawful racket of metal against metal coming from somewhere inside the engine was a sure tipoff to even a casual bystander that there was something really, REALLY wrong. Ed confirmed it — my truck’s now a nine thousand pound paperweight.
So now what to do — put even more money into it or just give up on resuscitation efforts and buy a new one. I have to make a decision now or the mall cop will have it towed the next day, but I can’t — I have to have time to think. If I make the wrong decision it could cost me big. I asked Ed if he knew a good wrecker service and how much it would cost to get it home where I could decide what to do. Since I live way west, WAY out of town in Spicewood, BIG CHUNK was the answer. Crap. Think, Linda. What are you going to do?!
Ed, bless his heart, saw that I was in a spot, looked over at the Sears next to us, and said, «You know, if you buy a tow bar, I’ll tow you home, keep the tow bar, and we’ll call it even — no gas money, just the tow bar for me will be good.» A hundred and fifty for a tow bar, a hundred less than calling a tow truck, and I get to sleep easy tonight knowing I have more time to figure out what in the world to do? DEAL!
So we go into Sears … no tow bars. I call a couple nearby parts stores — no tow bars there, either. Ed starts looking at the ratchet straps (yes, we’re still in the air conditioned store while figuring out what to do — we’re no dummies). I tell him, «You’re thinking of towing it with those? Isn’t that illegal?» He educates me that it’s not, so I said, «I have a tow chain in the truck. You pull, I’ll be the brakes, and between the two of us we keep the chain tight, yeah?» He smiles a knowing smile at me. Yep. I grew up in the country and graduated Redneck Wrecker 101 at an early age just like Ed apparently did.
Ed gets the chain all rigged up, we get in, and off we go. Oh, crap — the power steering doesn’t work unless the truck’s running. No chance of that, so we stop and switch places since he’s just a little bit stronger than me (*she says with tongue planted firmly in cheek*) and off we go (NICE RIDE, Ed! Your Suburban’s fun to drive! And I forgot to put the seat back — sorry — hope you didn’t bang the hell out of your knees getting back in).
We start winding our way out of town, I miss the first turn since we can’t get over in the right lane (*insert much cussing about traffic here*), we have to go a different way than we discussed, I start waving my arms around out the window pointing, and Ed knows Countrified Hand Signals! YEAH! We made quite the team pulling it the rest of the way home, nice and easy, no fiascos, communicating perfectly when needed, me towing, him braking, even through that construction going on just past Bee Caves. It was great! Smooth sailing all the way.
We get home, come to a park, and I get out to greet him with, «THAT was FUN! I haven’t done that in YEARS!» I’m laughing because I’m so relieved it’s home safe, and he’s laughing, too, probably relieved that I didn’t wreck his Suburban (Admit it, Ed — there was a bit of that, wasn’t there? *snicker*).
So now I need something else to drive. I ask him to diagnose the funny noise my other car’s making that I suspect is the clutch going out. Ed says, Yep. So we coordinate how to get it to him so he can fix it (And you better BELIEVE I want him to fix it. Someone who was willing to help me get out of a BIG FAT jam, who trusts me enough to drive his vehicle when he didn’t even know me, and who, because of his straight-​talking honesty along with everything else, inspired that same trust in me towards him? You betcha.) and I offer him a beer.
I’m glad he had a little while to visit. I enjoyed getting to know him. He’s a good man.
Ed, I hope Byshop enjoys the bugs I sent him. If you ever get time, bring him out here to the country. We’ll take him down to the creek and I’ll teach him to catch mudbugs. Then we’ll eat them — IF he’ll let us.

Wanted to wait a couple weeks before reviewing to make sure that all was well.
More than happy to give Edward five stars for a job well done. I needed to replace my front brake pads and rotors, and I had the replacement parts handy. Edward was available within 24 hours of texting, and came to my office to do the replacement. Brakes are operating perfectly.
Price was beyond reasonable and completely fair. I knew what the problem was beforehand, so I saved many dollars avoiding a diagnostic test (often non-​negotiable) at a specialty shop.
Edward was prompt, friendly, and got the job done. I asked for extra business cards to hand out at my office. Will be using him from here on out.

I would recommend this man to anyone. Ed came out the same day that I called home and fixed the cables connecting to my battery. He’s honest, knowledgable, on time and a super friendly guy. If/​when I have another problem with my truck he’ll be the person that I call.

Well, the best thing is he comes to you. My car probably wouldn’t have made it to a shop. I needed to find a mechanic since my car tends to have an issue or six here and there. I called Ed on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I alerted him of my problem (alternator) and he was able to fit me in on Saturday afternoon. It probably would have been sooner, but the holiday was near. Totally understandable. His price was beyond reasonable and he did it in half the time. I just moved from the DC area, so when he told me the cost, I kind of got excited. Kind of odd, huh? Mechanics aren’t the most visited personnel over there. Not many people like to get robbed. A great plus is he isn’t trying to sell you parts. I’m a pro at Internet shopping, so I usually find the part cheaper than most shops or car part stores.
I need to transfer tags to Texas, so I need to get my car AJ squared away. I had two codes that my computer was displaying. He said one is probably causing the other and just to do part A, not A & B. He even quoted me for installing part A.
I will definitely be calling him again for my next fix. Calling a mechanic is no longer a burden. Such a pleasure! Do not hesitate to give him a call.

Edward was timely, friendly and knowledgeable. I had a leak in my heater hose and all the water and antifreeze was leaking out of my radiator, leaving it un-​drivable. I saved time, money and grief by calling Edward. We texted Edward and he was able to make an appointment to come out the next day. He did the job for exactly the same price quoted over the phone and was very efficient. I highly recommend him. Thanks, Edward!

My mobile mechanic of 8 years retired in January, and… I have been a little nervous to say the least… hoping my 07 Honda Accord never breaks down again! IT IS SOOOOO HARD actually finding a mechanic you can trust. I mean there are so many horror stories out there.
Well again, THANK GOD FOR Unilocal! The first mobile mechanic I found on Unilocal was Edward, and I couldn’t be happier! I called him this morning around 10:30 and he was at Parmer and McNeil by 11. He had my starter out BEFORE I could even get back from Advanced Auto Parts right down the street. I also like the fact that he can use a CC for payment…$ 3.00 extra but I am not complaining!
I would recommend Edward to anyone who doesn’t have time to waste sitting around a shop waiting for your vehicle to get fixed!

This guy is amazinggg. He had to do quite a difficult job (replacing an ignition lock cylinder on a mazda) and was patient with me and my scheduling conundrums. He knew right away what was wrong and I highly recommend him! Fair pricing and super nice guy too.

Edward was awesome! My car wouldn’t start after me and a friend switched out a part. He was able to diagnose the problem in less than 5 minutes. He also gave me some helpful advice on what to look for in the future.

Edward is a Saint! My old 71′ Datsun pickup had rear brakes that were shot and needed new wheel cylinders. Verses having to tow it to a mechanic, he showed up promptly at my home, I handed him the replacement parts and my lame truck was up and ready to go in under two hours!
The cherry on top was that my jetta had an issue keeping me from getting my state inspection. He fixed that too!
