To say Kristy did amazing is an understatement. I have worked with her on many weddings (I’m a wedding stylist) and friends of mine used her for their weddings, so I knew she was great but to see my wedding documented by her was better than I could have imagined. She took my venue which was in San Francisco and captured every detail. She made everyone look great. She was amazing with my nephews and even they are looking at the camera, which is not the easiest thing to do! I can’t speak higher of this woman and I INSIST that you hire her for any event or family photos, which she has taken those for us too!

Kristy is absolutely the best in the business! She has photographed my wedding, my sister’s wedding and our daughter’s newborn photos. Every time we receive our photos she exceeds my expectations. Kristy is so awesome and makes you feel very comfortable in front of the camera. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

This review is long overdue. Kristy photographed our wedding nearly a year ago. Kristy was always very responsive, on time, and so sweet. She did such a lovely job memorializing our wedding day and we received all of our photos within two months, which is pretty quick for most wedding photographers. I would highly recommend Kristy and would certainly use her again if we lived closer.

When I saw the preview of the photos after our wedding I literally teared up. Her work is light, airy and whimsical. All traits I wanted our wedding to reflect. Kristy is a breeze to deal with prior to your wedding or session. She is so funny and easy going that you don’t feel awkward posing for photos. Kristy is an old friend from high school but even if she wasn’t she would feel like having an old friend around. Numerous guests told us how awesome she was and how easy she made being photographed. I can’t recommend her enough. She will be a staple in all future photography sessions for us.

I was never the little girl who dreamed my whole life of every detail of my wedding day. Before I got engaged, I only knew 2 things that I wanted for my wedding. The song I would walk down the aisle to and that I wanted Kristy to be my photographer. I had been following her work for several years, only hoping that one day I’d be lucky enough to have a reason to need her services.
Kristy exceeded every expectation I had. She quickly responded to every email I sent her. She was extremely helpful in answering all the questions I had about the wedding day and I trusted all the feedback she gave me. She was flexible and understanding through the entire planning process. She took time to come to the wedding venue the night before at the rehearsal to get familiar with everybody in the wedding party and family members whom she would be shooting the following day. She scouted the best locations for pictures and made sure everything was set with the venue coordinator. She did all of this in such a natural and comfortable way that I was completely confident about the wedding day. The day of the wedding, she arrived early and was extremely helpful in keeping the time schedule we had planned. She managed all of my family and bridal party in such a professional and easy going way that not only were we able to get all the shots we wanted, but everyone enjoyed every moment of the process. Kristy is fun and makes everyone feel comfortable having their picture taken. During the ceremony and after, Kristy fit in so easily to every situation and never interrupted a single moment, although each important moment was captured.
And then came the photographs. I will never be able to do justice in words the beauty of my wedding pictures. I have hundreds of stunning images that capture the love, emotion, fun, and beauty that was present at my wedding. There are so many candid pictures of the most meaningful moments of that day that I will be able to treasure forever.
I am eternally grateful for Kristy and all of the photographs I have of my special day. She is simply the best there is.

My husband & I have been following Kristy’s work since 2004. When we got engaged the one thing we were already for sure on was our photographer! It had to be Kristy. We were lucky enough to set a date far enough in the future to ensure her availability.
We used her for our engagement photos and were so happy with them! The images are sharp, clear, and vibrant. We had tons of compliments on them. It was great to use her for our engagement photos because it gave us a chance to get comfortable with her taking our photos, though it doesn’t take much much since Kristy makes you feel comfortable. She made us laugh and get excited about our wedding.
Then came the wedding and she was such a huge help on the day of! She made us feel so special and was great at guiding us and getting the best shot. I didn’t even hear her camera make a sound during the ceremony once, yet she captured so many beautiful images. Of course we ran behind schedule and she was still able to fit in plenty of pictures of our bridesmaids/​groomsmen & family photos quickly! After the ceremony we barely even noticed she was there! She blended in well and we never felt like she was in the way. The night before at the rehearsal she scouted out spots for photos, shared her opinions and expertise. She’s very professional, responds quickly to e-​mails, and will work with you on whatever you want; ie locations & including your pet!
I’m SO happy she was our photographer. The final wedding images are more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I’d definitely recommend Kristy. I really feel that she’s one of the best photographers in the entire area. You’re very lucky if you get to use her services. I’m looking forward to her photographing any future events in our lives. :)

We found Volatile on a popular blog that I read daily. Her work is published, so you know it must be good! Having been a fan of her work, we knew we wanted to hire her to do our newborn/​family photographs. In fact, we hired her early in our pregnancy! Kristy was flexible in her schedule and helpful in recommending other services we were interested in (make-​up, etc). When our shoot arrived, Kristy was a joy to work with. She arrived on time and ready to go. The shoot was natural and didn’t feel posed or forced — exactly what we wanted. After reviewing the photos, our expectations were blown away. The images are just beautiful and capture our new family in a journalistic way that I was longing for. I would highly recommend Kristy — we will be working with her in the future as our family grows!

I found Kristy on the Wedding Chicks blog, and was instantly sold on her work — her photography is really, really good (which is why it shows up on blogs all the time!). Kristy is not only incredibly professional, but she’s also warm and personable. She likes to get to know her clients, and takes the time to meet up before a single shot is ever taken. She wants to get a sense of the clients’ style, their personalities, and what they’re looking for.
Our wedding package came with a free engagement session. My then-​fiancé and I weren’t planning on doing an e-​session, but we’re glad we did. It gave us an opportunity to get comfortable in front of Kristy and her lens, and we ended up with great photos to use for save-​the-​date cards and our guest book.
The wedding photography itself was spectacular. Our family and guests have all complimented Kristy’s keen eye for detail, and for her impressive ability to capture fantastic action shots.
Our wedding day went by so fast, and my husband and I are so glad Kristy was there to capture the detail, emotion, and festivity of the day so that we can relive it for years to come.

I just saw wedding pictures from our big day and they are nothing short of amazing. Kristy has such a great eye for all the details that you put into your wedding. You will be amazed that the wedding you see through her images is even better than you envisioned. There are so many great ideas she has for photos and she will have you pose in ways that are natural and becoming. I didn’t have to wear a perma-​grin that made my cheeks tired as I had to when I was posing for friends’ wedding photos. It is effortless working with Kristy and my one regret is that I didn’t hire her from sun up to sun down. Her photos will leave you wanting more!

Kristy was such a pleasure to work with! As a bride planning my own wedding, I wanted vendors that I could completely trust to do their job very well with little instruction from me. (I’m a perfectionist that wants to sit back and enjoy the wedding day.) Kristy was perfect in this regard and all of her pictures were so creative and captured everything I hoped. Kristy was an absolutely amazing photographer. She has a real talent of taking stunning photos, but most importantly takes all of your feedback and direction into account to customize your photos. She asks really great questions to not only help you get the photos you want, but also the overall experience and expectation of the photographer’s role that you have for your event. She also makes a point to get to know the venue and lighting at the location of your event if she’s never photographed there before. We were absolutely thrilled with our wedding photos and would highly recommend Kristy to anyone who is looking for someone to photograph their event.

Kristy shot my wedding on 8÷7÷2010, and I could not have been more pleased. She was the only photographer I ever met with for my wedding; after meeting her, I didn’t need to meet anybody else!

Kristy did FANTASTIC work for our wedding in Northern California. She took note of what our preferences were in our meeting and followed through with a great balance of posed and candid shots, scenery and people, still and action shots, so that we ended up with tons of great pictures to choose from. When she’s photographing you it doesn’t feel like a «photo shoot»…it just felt like we’re hanging out and she’s taking some snap shots… but those «snap shots» are beautiful photos that are my most favorite ever.
