My 2003PT Cruiser had decided to stop working. The culprit was the transmission. Replacing it was out of our budget, so we were referred to Monty to see if he could repair it. Monty took a look at it and was honest. He told us what our options were, the cost of each option, and also told us about other issues that he saw with the engine. Although we chose to not go ahead with the repairs at this time, Monty was gracious and kind. We will most definitely be back to him for our other automobiles needs. An honest, knowledgeable mechanic is a gem to find!

I had to have my transmission rebuilt. So i took it to Monty in March 2014. I had to take it back 6 times, where he kept car for two weeks at a time. It is December now. Finally, had to hire an attorney. My car went in last time, he put another transmission in it and so far it runs good. But it took 9 months to get my car fixed is poor business.

These people are competent, honest and courteous. After being ripped off for $ 200 by Santa Rosa Transmission, i mentioned the experience to a neighbor who i then found out is a mechanic. He referred me to Transman; they heard my report of how it was acting and immediately knew what was wrong and fixed it perfectly. Thank you!

I got a new tranny installed by Monty and while I was frustrated at how long it tookthem to fix it. I did get a rental car and they paid for it due to their error, but the mistake could have been avoided if they had planned accordingly. After I got my car back, it didn’t shift right so it had to go back. The second time, things turned out much better. I think this establishment wants to do a good job, but I also think they have a lot to manage and aren’t the best at that aspect of the business. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend him, but I wouldn’t necessarily say don’t go there either. It was a very weird experience for me. I hope someone else offers another opinion on their services.
